WARNING - Very Dishonest people ! They came out and sold me a complete treatment plan, said they were going to treat all of the tress and shrubs on my small property (almost $400.00) After missing the original appointment date - they showed up unannounced and proceed to treat one corner of my back yard and then left. I have called and emailed several times - each time being told i need to speak to someone else - but I never hear back from them. DO NOT use these guys. The sales people will tell you exactly what you want to hear but they do not deliver the products and services you pay for. This has been going on for over a month now. They seem pushy. I contacted this company through their online form and did not hear back. But I did hear back from them after I tried a second time along with the complaint of not hearing back. They were calling my mobile phone numerous times without leaving any voicemails even though I entered my email address for communication online. When I would not set up an appointment right away on the phone the manager on the phone did not sound pleased. Seems like they only care about getting your business but not how they go about it in order to keep business exchange positive. read more

Expensive and no local touch. They have raised prices, and are now quite high. I had them trim two cypress trees, and treat a eucalyptus tree's roots with a growth retardant. The work was good, and the crew was excellent. But the price was high, and in order to see the final invoice it was necessary to sign up on their website and create a user name and password. We found our way to this company after our community org recommended them for inoculating ash trees against the ash borer. We've been using them ever since to keep the large ash in our backyard alive. I could probably save a couple hundred dollars once in awhile with some guy and his crew of chainsaw-wielding yahoos, but it's not worth it. Savatree shows up on time, does an excellent job, and cleans up the job site perfectly. I've had the chainsaw yahoos work on our tree -- they make a mess, my tree looks like the time my mom gave me a haircut, and I'd rather not have a guy who reeks of alcohol using chainsaws near my power lines. read more

They were very expensive and they did not do all they said they were going to trim. SO I am really mad. They were $1200 and that was $300 more than the other quotes I got . But they came out did all this trimming and forgot to do Like 20 percent of what they promised. It took them Maybe a bit more than 2 hours and they were very professional. But hey for $300 extra you could at least finish what you promised. And then put me on a continuous billing without signing anything. 6 months later came out and charged me again. I called and they said it was a mistake but that was the SECOND TIME. I would not recommend them. read more

Hired them to do tree trimming in the fall, they came out and pruned the backyard trees and it looked as f nothing was done. They said they do it to not damage the tree and to make sure it is ok. Well fast forward to the winter and I had limbs fall off those trees damaging fences. Now a portion of one of those trees is cracking and appears to be ready to fall over the entire house. What exactly do these people know about preserving trees when AFTER they come the trees start to fall apart and damage my house. Waste of money and now endangering my family. Oh and I just called them and they are out all week and cant come look at the potentially dangerous situation in my backyard. read more

We were using our landscaper to handle all of our lawn maintenance. It got to the point that our lawn was looking terrible. So we decided to try a specialized lawn service to see what they could do. We chose SavATree to see what they could do for us. The first year was a pretty much status quo. However, this year our grass has improved dramatically. There are still some bare spots that they will be working on. One of their representatives came out and agreed that our lawn was better, but still needed some improvement. Our situation needs more time to cure, but we appear to be headed in the right direction. We are happy with the improvement to date. read more

I used SavATree to remove a dead ash and a very old diseased crabapple that had reached the end of it's lifespan in my front yard. The staff was very courteous. They came out promptly to offer an estimate, which was on the lower end of competitive for our area, and scheduling was easy once I received a permit from the village to have the trees removed. They left my yard clean to the point that you could hardly notice that any work had been done unless you knew the exact spot to look in the lawn. Paying was easy with their online credit card payment system. The whole process was simple and painless. I definitely recommend SavATree and will use them again in the future. read more

We called on these people to trim a tall ornamental pear that borders our second-story deck. Rather than "trim", they performed radical surgery, removing virtually everything on the deck side of the tree and stripping us of our lovely border/bird refuge/sun shield. I have never in my decades of home-owning been more disappointed in a service. They did their damage quickly, which of course will take years to correct under the beautiful but gradual hand of Mother Nature. Fast they are; sensitive, certainly not. read more

I used them to trim my crab apple tree and was disappointed in both their trimming and how they trampled my hastas and other plants behind my house. When I brought it to their attention, they said they were sorry but that I got a really good price (it was essentially the same as Glenwood the previous owner had changed) and that the season is over for the plants and that the plants will come back next year. It is only August and my hastas tend to look pretty good til October/November. I will not be using them again and would not recommend anyone else use them either. read more

Extremely expensive and unfair. They removed a damaged tree. Although the estimator said their way of computing fee might help me pay less, It was close to $2000 charge, and the actual working hours were a lot less. The estimator gave me a verbal quote around $1200, but he only wrote the working hours on his estimate. I was overcharged by every possible way. They charged me $90 per man per hour including long one hour lunch break for three men, and more than one hour travel time. In addition to it, they also charged another trip for picking up logs by one man at $90 per hour rate, and they claimed he took almost 2.5 hours. The estimator didn't tell me they would charge this way and so it was hidden cost. Probably only one guy was qualified trimmer who deserve $90 per hour. One guy was only holding a rope, and one guy only picked up branches and drag them to grind. Most of the time he was just watching. If he came in a different truck, he could have moved the logs away as one job. I don't think they needed three man for the job. As I observed, they didn't help me minimize the cost. Don't be trapped in their way of ripping you off. read more
