This review is for the Save Mart on First and Nees but for some reason that location isn't available. Anyway, bought some orange chicken, potato wedges and some wings. Everything was fresh, hot, crispy and very tasty. The clerk who helped me was James and he was very helpful and friendly and even suggested the orange chicken which, was amazing. Generally this has been a great store where we have shopped for years. But they are doing absolutely nothing to enforce the wearing of masks and I don't feel safe shopping here until the end of the pandemic. I called them and they said there is nothing they can do about it. Please shop elsewhere until the pandemic is over to help keep our community safe for everyone. read more

When I visit my dad this is the grocery store that us closest to him so we always stop in. I love this store, the lay out is great with everything clearly labeled so it is super easy to find what you are looking for. The produce is very fresh and the deli and meat departments are wonderful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and make your shopping experience easy. But the thing I love the most about this Save Mart is the craft beer selection. I have never been in a grocery store that has a better selection. I mean you usually have to go to a specialty store to find the amount of craft beer this place carries. This is a wonderful store and has great food. Stop in and enjoy. read more

Savemart isn't what it once was. The customer service is not there. The employees look like they hate their jobs. The prices are pretty ridiculous. The thing that I can't stand the most is I can't tell you how many times ive gotten home and realized something is already expired. I don't plan on giving savemart anymore chances. This Save Mart is large and carries about everything you can think of. They have a great amount of speciality foods and have a large supply of organic vegetables. The store manger, David, is very friendly and always asking me if I found everything I needed. I actually had him special order me an item because I couldn't find it anywhere else without it being outrageously priced. I like this SaveMart and go about once a week. read more

This save mart is pretty nice. Always seem to have great fresh produce. The staff is super friendly and I love that. Great neighborhood grocery store. Awesome deli that has delicious sandwiches and more. The savings are awesome too. Compared to other grocery stores, save Mart prices are always fair. I would highly recommend. I come to this store at least 5 times a week. Today I went in looking for a fresh turkey. I looked where they usually are but weren't there. I asked a person in the meat department if they had any and with a rude remark said " they're right there, if you need more let me know!" When I looked where they were there were about 12 turkeys. I wish I could this place zero stars! There are signs that clearly states that all that enter must wear a mask. I saw 6 individuals without masks. I asked the cashier about their signs and if they are being enforced. She responded " we can tel them but they won't listen." So then I asked, but you can enforce and ask them to leave? She replied "well yes but but ....sir, this is not my store so I don't..." she stoped talking so then I asked "why would you put up signs and not enforce them? Your sign clearly says "state regulated". She then said " I dont know what to say." I knew this was going nowhere so I said "thank you" and left. Savemart... if you are going to place signs then enforce them!! I feel as if you are neglecting the vulnerable when you should be protecting them. I've been coming here for years due to convenience and the customer service is always inconsistent. You never know if you'll get a good or bad experience. I've had enough of being patient and continuing to come because it's close. The last 2 visits have not been pleasant. One cashier seemed frustrated and was throwing, slamming our items as she was passing them to the bagger. In my last visit, I mentioned to the cashier that I had a large item in my cart BUT she didn't respond nor look at me so I pushed the cart to the bagger and said to him that I'll let her know so I stated once again but she didn't respond until the bagger asked and she said she heard me both times. Well then why didn't you answer me?? All I ask is for you to treat me like you would want to be treated. My family and I will no longer be giving this location ours business. read more

My wife and I were in Save Mart 12-22-17, and shop here frequently because they are the closest grocery store to our house. We purchased some Bobby Salazar's Salsa from the end cap of the first isle nearest the deli counter. We have experienced an increase of food items for sale at this store location with expiration dates being the day we are shopping or the next day so we check the dates on everything we buy carefully. The first container of Bobby Salazar's Salsa we grabbed from the shelf had an expiration date of 12-14-17, it was expired for a week and was still on the shelf. We took it with us to the check out to give it to the clerk to be removed. The clerk took it and gave it to the bagger to deal with. Probably ended up back on the end cap for some poor sucker who doesn't check the expiration dates on the items he/she buys. This store continues to be dirty and has a poor selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, and the checkers are incredibly slow. Reading some of the other reviews, boasting of friendly, fast, and knowledgeable checkers and baggers I am confused! I've been shopping this store the last 3 1/2 years, and have yet to experience that! This Save Mart has really gone down hill and really needs to be evaluated by someone from the Corporation. read more

This is by far the largest and nicest Save Mart in Fresno. I usually don't shop at SM anymore cause they are by far the most expensive supermarkets in Fresno. But this one is close to a buddies house and we needed a few things for our meal. I must say the prices at this location are cheaper than other locations!!! Which I don't understand. Don't they all have the same prices? I guess not, cause I was surprised to see the prices here!!! The store is well layed out. Very clean and modern. I will no longer shop at the Herndon and Milburn Save mart Supermarket. Today was the last time I care to be treated rudely and without proper customer service skills. I needed help but coudnt find a employee on the floor, so I asked for assistance to be sent to the condiment aisle from a cashier up front,. While I waited in the aisle, I was spotted by the sent employee who greeted me with a " You need help"? , not a " Hi can I help you find something". I then told him I was looking for curry paste , and he replied Thats in the spice asile". I told him there was only dry goods in that aisle and was pretty sure it was in this aisle but cannot find it. He then, without looking at me, lifted the curry paste from the top shelf and sat it back down again and took off. Didn't hand it to me, didn't wish me a good day, or ask if there was anything else he could help me with. I am 5' 1, so reaching the top shelf is no easy task. When the manager was aware of my experience, he said the employee was a good kid and was sure he didn't mean to be rude. I would of hoped he would of said that he would run though proper customer assistance with the employee to ensure no one else would have the same experience. ( He wasn't a kid, must have been 21- 25.) Herndon and Milburn Save Mart Supermarket is a BIG thumbs down to me, and I will tell my neighbors and friends about my experience with them. read more

As far as pricing and the things they sell, it wasn't bad. Customer service was lacking, though. I don't know if it was because I came in an hour before they were closing, but I got a really unfriendly vibe from the people working there. I don't think I had anything on me, but I was even looked at strangely. I've honestly never felt that uncomfortable before. I am a frequent customer of this store. It is very high priced, but convenient. My complaint is there is a clerk named Lauralee. She is VERY RUDE, and seems to be racist. I have complained several times to the manager, and they act like it's no big deal. She makes me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome, and I do not think she should be dealing with customers. I will keep complaining until something is done. If there is 1 person in her line and 20 in the other, I will stand in the line behind the 20th person to avoid having to feel like crap. This store used to be my favorite place to shop. They usually always have whatever food item I am looking for and it is very clean and well set up. The people that work in the produce department are always friendly. The checkers are not. It is unbelievable how rude they are to me and my kids when we go in there. My kids are young but well behaved, and they make me feel so unwelcome. I have never had this experience anywhere else ever before. They just don't seem to like having kids in their store. If you don't have children then I think this would be a great place to shop, but if you do then I recommend going somewhere else. read more

A 2 star because their baked goods are good & fresh. The rest of the stars would be there IF the deli staff wasn't so rude & cold. My goodness they look so bothered by a customer asking for help. The ONLY nice one was the Hispanic girl who took my bakery order. I go in on the pick up day & my gosh the lady who was tall & looked pale with orange lipstick was so cold. I was still very pleasant after she rudely asked what can she do for me. I said I'm here for pick up. She looks at my order sheet gets my cake all frowning. Then looks at my order sheet again after I politely said I ordered cupcakes as well..she replies with "oh I didn't see that" mumbles something else I couldn't catch. I'm still with a smile & good attitude. She hands me my orders & says for future to bring my copy of the order sheet ! I'm like excuse me? Ma'am I just got out of work & was assured my copy wasn't needed as it was paid in full. She still stuck with"well for future" rolling her eyes! This is not a standard supermarket, but a very large convenience store, with convenience store prices. I live immediately nearby, but stopped going entirely, because of the prices. They go up and then partly back down, with a notice of how much is saved. Sometimes it is hard to find prices. Great place for Yuppies who are not looking. That said, the store is clean with good produce in abundance and service is friendly. read more

I live very close to this store. I shop here 4-5 times a month. So far, I don't have any complaints about the fruit & veggie area. I normally would buy their organic stuff because even if they're expensive, they don't rot quick. So I think I can save more money that way. There isn't a lot of choices in the meat section, yet I could always find what I need there. The service I get from the staff here is fantastic. No problems so far as to how I'm treated..... they always offer any help as to getting me a 24-pack of bottled water from a far away shelf to offering to take my bags to the car.
