    Nice and clean interior

Check your receipts, folks! While this is a convenient location, prices seem pretty high. Then when you bring to their attention of pricing errors, they make you feel like a cheapskate. They don't do anything to make it right, like maybe an apology or a $5 gift card since you had to drive back? Poor customer service. Plenty of other grocery stores in the area to support.

    Dirty bathroom sink.

This store is so dirty. There is trash outside all around the building. The restrooms are filthy and look like they haven't been cleaned in months. With the filth in and around the store, I could only imagine what crawls around on the food in the storage room. They typically only have one register open and it is pretty much self service.

just look at that fine piece

This review is specifically for the meat department. I always know somertimes the meat department will have out some supprising and unusual cuts, from beef short ribs to a killer deal on pork. But, this time I was browsing just before Christmas Eve and of course there was tons of prime ribs out, most pieces way bigger than I'd wanna cook for two people. I saw this "Prime Grade" small cut prime ribs, about 2 inches thick, maybe you might call it a thick cut ribeye, but it looked like a good piece with good marbling. $14.99 was the price, so I thought, this would be like $22 a lb at Costco for this cut! I didn't plan on cooking Christmas Eve, but I guess I am now. This was one nice looking piece, trimmed decently so not a ton of extra fat. Cooked it 45 minutes at 350 and then seared. After cooking, wow, this thing is so tender it's falling apart trying to pick it up, I had to use a spatula instead of tongs! OMG! This was the best beef I've ever had in my LIFE! No kidding, better than that $90 steak in Vegas or any other restaurant, that's for sure! Great beefy flavor, and so tender, you could see the meat grain fibers separating when you cut into it! You could just pull the meat apart cooked medium! I'll continue checking out this meat department regularly if I'm in the store.

If I could only choose one bakery for the rest of my life, it would be Coco Cake Bakery…read more Coco is not a traditional French bakery, although it could easily outperform most of them without breaking a sweat. It is something rarer, a kind of culinary alchemy where the soul of a Mexican bakery meets the precision of a French one and then raises the roof entirely. Everything here is made in house, which sounds obvious until you realize how few places actually do it. Fillings, toppings, doughs, creams, all of it crafted from scratch with the kind of intention you can taste. I had a pineapple empanada where the pineapple still had texture, real structure, not the mush you find in lesser hands. We have had the tres leches cake, a genuine masterpiece, and the sweet rolls which might very well be the best anywhere. Most bakeries load their cases with dozens of options and hit "pretty good" on most of them. Coco chooses fewer and executes each one perfectly. That is the difference. This is a place you want to see still standing twenty years from now, doing exactly what it is doing today, untouched by shortcuts or trends. Because Coco is built on something deeper. You can feel the heritage in the pastries, a lineage that did not come from a school or from climbing the ladder in someone else's kitchen. These recipes feel like they came from the old lands and were brought forward with respect. No corners cut, no fast rising yeast, no modern twists for the sake of novelty. Just the way things were meant to be made. My "triad of culinary excellence" holds strong here. Ambiance: the smell alone is heavenly, and the space is clean, warm, and inviting. Service: above and beyond, with the baker himself willing to accommodate anything you ask and owners who are as genuine as they are talented. Pastries: excellent, full stop. You can taste the love and the pride in every single one. When the sweet rolls came out hot from the oven, the aroma of sugar and yeast filled the air and made every other bakery's attempt feel inadequate by comparison. Coco doesn't just make pastries, it restores your faith in what a bakery is supposed to be. If you have only one bakery left to choose, make it this one. Coco Cake Bakery is the standard.

Heard about this bakery from Alma S. and just happened to be in the area, so we decided to check it…read moreout. The bakery is super cute with different things to offer. They had different baked items like conchas, empanadas, and cinnamon buns inside these cabinets. There are also a table with different cookies and slices of cakes in the frigerated area. There was a tray and tongs at the main table for you to pick your items. The cabinets have glass doors, and the cookie display are also glass. I was there with my 3 year old, so I made sure we were extra careful because he's like a bull in china shop. We checked out and since we spent a certain amount, we got a chance to get 5% off on their toy basketball hoop. Super fun idea! They also gave some candy to my little one. The mentioned they offer custom cakes and need advance notice for it. We brought home our goodies and they were delicious! The empanadas weren't too sweet and the conchas and cookies were spot on. Definitely taste freshly homemade. A wonderful bakery and we can't wait to try more.

The Hubster, MIL, and I popped in here for a late lunch today…read more What a cute little bakery/cafe this is. It's located inside a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. We don't venture to Rocklin on a regular basis, but when we do, it's nice to know where to go and to support a small business like this. Give them a try. You will be impressed too!

I ordered a custom birthday cake and paid $117 upfront through Zelle…read more After I sent the payment, the owner informed me she no longer had access to that Zelle account. She said she would contact her bank and still confirmed my order. Just two days before my daughter's birthday party, the owner told me her family had norovirus and offered to either make the cake or cancel with a full refund. I appreciated her honesty and chose to cancel since the cake would be served to many children. Having to find a replacement cake only two days before the party caused me a great deal of stress, a parent planning a large birthday celebration, this added unnecessary pressure during an already busy time. Despite that, I remained understanding because I knew her family's illness was beyond her control. The owner asked for other ways to refund me, I sent her my Venmo information and she promised my refund would be sent "in the next couple of days." More than a week later, I still have not received my $117 refund despite multiple polite follow-up messages. I also contacted my bank, but they explained they couldn't dispute the payment because it was successfully sent to her Zelle account. Since the recipient banks with a different financial institution, they couldn't investigate what happened after the funds were received. What frustrated me the most throughout this experience was the lack of communication. I never knew if or when I would receive a response. Sometimes I had to follow up just to get an update, and now my messages have gone unanswered altogether. A simple update would have gone a long way. I understand emergencies happen, and I genuinely appreciated the owner's honesty about her family's illness. However, promising a refund, acknowledging the payment issue was their responsibility and then failing to communicate or issue the refund has been very disappointing. As of today, more than a week after she promised to send my refund, I am still waiting to receive it and have not received any communication from her. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this bakery at all.
