I was really disappointed by this Goodwill. The store felt more like an unkempt yard sale than a retail store. Merchandise seemed cluttered, and I had a difficult time finding anything that caught my interest. What really made me decide to leave was watching an employee stocking shelves while wearing gloves and handling some items in a way that made me question their condition. I'm sure there may have been a perfectly reasonable explanation, but it left me feeling uncomfortable enough that I chose not to continue shopping. To make matters worse, many of the prices surprised me. Shopping at Goodwill used to feel like hunting for affordable treasures. Now, many items are priced so high that I found myself thinking I might as well shop at a department store and buy something new. The good: I got 2 tops from here for $5.99 each (both were Abercrombie and Fitch tops). You can find some nice things if you really dig through the racks. The racks had tons of stuff but it wasn't overcrowded. They had a lot of Squishmallows. The bad: I like the Goodwill on Hawthorne in Torrance better because it seems to have nicer items that are more selected for quality/trendiness. A lot of the shoes were pretty worn down. There were so many out of fashion jeans here. The home goods area was pretty run down looking and in a disarray compared to other Goodwills. The interesting: I like how they have seasonal items displayed in the front. Since St. Patrick's day is the next holiday, the front area has tons of green clothes and items on display. read more

I've been to this location twice to drop off my donations. Both times I've had to deal with lazy & rude employees. They are not very attentive or helpful. This time around the girl was on her phone making a personal phone call instead of attending to customers. The location on PV blvd is way better. The employees are attentive and helpful, offering to help you unload your car. Never coming back to this location. The WORSE! Take your donations elsewhere. I stopped here last minute to see if they had any toys for my toddler and they let me look around even though they were going to close in a minute. I appreciated it so much because kids grow out of toys so quickly and recycling toys is better than adding more to the carbon footprint. They were kind to have me check out a few minutes after 8pm and did it with a smile. I definitely want to come back earlier to see what other goodies I can find. This store desperately need carts with seats for kids! First off only one cart? Ok and no seat? And baskets with wheels. OK. I didn't mind carrying my baby but then my other arm was full with clothes and I was getting tired so alright, I'll just put him in the basket. Yes, my decision. The only other choice I had! I was adjusting and put everything on the floor. I go ahead pick it all up and of course my son falls back! It's extremely dangerous and I'm sure other parents will try the same when there are no other options. I'm just warning and cautioning. Get this store carts or a real problem will happen. I WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD... This store is ridiculous. Ridiculous policies, ridiculous management and ridiculously dirty, and I mean GROSS. Keep reading if you want more details... I moved within walking distance to this location so I donated clothes from our household and shopped there alot. Incredibly convenient so I gave a pass for the messy displays and weird smelling clothes and I wash everything anyways. BUT the dressing rooms were constantly full of clothes/trash/hangers. Worse, I could see the physical layer of dirt on the floors in there so I stopped using the fitting rooms altogether. Cause tryin on pants, I was NOT gonna track that into my house from the bottom of my socks! So it wasn't a problem (at first) because I was able to do exchanges as long as it was within a week. I was fine with that. Well all of a sudden management gets pretty serious and picky.. "You can't exchange a blue tag for a pink tag, shorts for pants" blah blah blah .. Let's make up some rules because we don't LIKE exchanges. Fine, I mean I don't get it since monetarily it's the same difference but whatever it's your store. Then managers the next week.. "OH we're now allowing ONE exchange only. You can't keep exchanging if something doesn't fit." ... Wait, WHAT??.. you act like you're selling brand new sparkling designer brands. This isn't Rodeo Drive or even Marshall's honey, it's SUPER BASIC DONATED CLOTHING!! The tags are on and they're in the same condition I found them.. USED lol. A few weeks later they get RID of the exchange policy altogether. "You'll just have to use the fitting rooms."... HEH I KID YOU NOT, right after they tell me this I hear over the loud speaker the fitting rooms are closed due to "SANITATION reasons"... People, that means there's a literal biohazard because some type of human excrement was found which doesn't surprise me cause there's alot of homeless in that area. SO DISGUSTING and validates my whole reasoning in the first place. I will credit the female cashiers for being very sweet, But that's it. Honestly, go to the Redondo/Artesia or Inglewood Goodwill. They're clean, the staff are great and they have much better quality clothes selection. read more

For thrift stores in the local area this isn't my favorite. Pretty messy for the non clothing items. Store seems dirty and there were a few questionable characters hanging around the dressing room area. But that's really more on those people and not the staff. I recently came to the back area to donate some items. Nobody was at the area, so I started unloading nice items to donate. Approximately one minute later, a man (with dark hair and mustache) that later claimed to be a manager told me, "You need to call the manager before you donate next time. " Anyone with commonsense knows that's a lie and I told this man that I've donated for decades and never had to do that! How many people are going to pick up a phone, ask for a Goodwill manager, and describe every single item to the manager before they donate?! Nobody! Further, there is no statement on their specific website that indicates to call and describe all of your items beforehand. I knew he was lying and let him know that I wasn't accepting what he was telling me. That so-called manager should not be employed there for being deceitful with me! So much more organized and open and clean compared to my usual go-to! Stopped by one afternoon mostly because I was curious and was surprised how well everything was put together. I noticed their stuff are always on the constant task of putting things away to where they belong. No wonder it's so nice and clean everywhere! I came away with a few bargains. ARE THE PEOPLE WHO PRICE THINGS HERE HIGH ON SOMETHING? Goodwill prices are insane lately, but this store is next-level. I will include some pics because you've gotta see it to believe it! I've picked up a couple of nicer items here, but seldom stop in at this one because there is so much absolute garbage, most of it overpriced. Oh and I bought a pair of jeans across town, where I was told I could exchange "within the district" - came here the following day and was told they no longer do exchanges. Beyond pissed about that! Returned to the original store across town where they said that this store absolutely should've been able to complete the exchange. Guess what? This goodwill was a great experience. My family and I were in town to see a cousin of ours who was not doing too well health wise. We were under a great amount of stress, were very sad, and had a sleepless night the night before. After seeing him, we decided to grab some coffee bean next door to wake up for the drive home and come to goodwill to get our minds off of the day we just had. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted by an employee and was told to let her know if we had any questions. The store itself had a nice collection of clothes and was very clean! I've been to many different goodwills and the majority of them were unorganized, messy, and had clothes all of the floor. This one was very well put together and spacious. The best part about the visit though was the employee helping us check out. I didn't catch her name, but she was incredibly sweet. She was a younger girl who had a lot of "happy energy". Little did she know, she made our entire day. This employee was not only kind, but she held a good conversation with us. She asked about our day and we told her we just came from the San Pedro Fish Market, somewhere our cousin wanted to go to with us before he died. She asked us where we were visiting from, how our lunch at the fish market was, asked about what we ordered, and told us a story about a time when she went. We ended up talking for a little bit with her and her entire energy was contagious. She could have easily checked us out and gone on with her day. Instead, she took the time to really talk with us since there was no one behind us and have a few laughs. People like her are the true definition of not only good customer service, but good people as well. It sounds silly how much of an impact she had on our day but just being around such positive energy really made a difference after such a heartbreaking day! You never know what someone is going through so it's important to be nice. Thank you! read more

This is a big goodwill store filled with children's, mens, and women's clothes, books, furniture, plates (lots of them came in sets of 5+), cups, mugs, frames, and old electronics. There is also a donation center located in the back of the store. I don't know if they brought this back but there was a green tag 50% off sale as well. While the store was organized and clean, It can be overwhelming to go through everything the store has to offer. So, I make a list of what I am looking for and that narrows it down to a few sections. I was looking for 3 different frames and a soap dish. Out of the 4 items, I found one frame, but it was $3. I bought it. In terms of prices, it would vary. There are many items that were cheap but others (especially the name brands like Ann Taylor, Nine West, and semi-expensive brands), were more expensive. For example, I found a motorcycle jacket for $20, and another coat for $30. I felt both could have been cheaper considering both items are donated. But other than that, I would still come back if I need anything or if I am donating something. read more

The people who work at this particular Goodwill Donation Center are great so I gave it 5 stars. They are always so professional and nice to deal with. Some of the other centers have rude people working in the donation center. I read some of the comments about the goods being picked over. This isn't Nordstrom's where the buyers have say so over what products come into the store. I don't think it is the fault of the center to receive certain types of items. I don't think it is the fault of the center with respect to when and how much people buy. After all, that is the goal. read more

I went Wednesday evening around 7:00pm. They announced there was a new rack coming out so I waited patiently for the rack to come out hoping to find something I would like. When the worker brought the rack out, (she was an older woman with glasses) she was speaking in Spanish to another man who was a customer and she quickly grabbed two quality pieces of clothing from the racks and gave it to the man. She held onto the rack, pulling it towards the man before she even let me have a chance to look. Not sure if they have built a relationship or somehow related but there's something going on. This stores big, mostly clothes (didn't peruse through the household items or furniture), but it had lots & lots of clothing and most in New to gently used condition. The location is not far from the 110 freeway, however for me, I'll just stick my few Southbay & West LA favorites- even driving to the Fairfax one was worth it, just wasn't feeling it here, but it wasn't bad, just didn't hear that tag popping song in my head, Lol. read more

Very disappointed with this location. I called this morning to get the hours for donating and the manager told me 7pm. I arrived at 6:20pm and the donation center was already closed for the day. When I went inside to try to drop of my donations the manager said they were closed and they don't except donations through the front entrance. I'm so excited to have a newly opened Goodwill thrift store in my area (I believe they opened at the end of September). I usually frequent the Goodwill locations on PCH or Artesia Blvd in Torrance, so this is a nice change of pace. This Goodwill is HUGE. Racks upon racks of clothing, a large shoes section, and the whole back part of the store designated for household goods and miscellaneous items. For me, organization is key when it comes to thrift stores. I hate when aisles aren't clearly marked or prices aren't easily identifiable. At this location, that is certainly not a problem. Employees here are nice and welcoming. Although, having been here a handful of times in the past couple of weeks, I've consistently had to wait a long time to get an employee to unlock a fitting room for me. More often than not, I've had to walk all over the store to find someone. But other than that, I've had no other issues here. This is now one of my favorite Goodwill stores, be sure to check it out! read more

Completely upset with the customer service I experienced from the female manager. I came into the store to return an electronic device and one of the staff members said that I could pick anything out of equal value to the item that I was returning. I spent around 1.5hrs in the store and finally found some books that I wanted to exchange my electronic device for. When I went up to the cashier, she called the manager to perform the return. The manager claimed that I could not exchange my keyboard because it is not an electronic device since it doesn't plug into an outlet. Since when are electronic devices only considered to be devices that need to be plugged in? Very frustrating because I wouldn't have wasted my time looking for a product to exchange had the manager properly trained her employees. Other than the rude manager, the staff have always been very helpful and kind. read more

*Must be losing out on so much money that they had to start the color of the week with a dollar day on Friday. Great if you do Thursdays north and head down for Friday $1 days. Was told by a very incompetent employee that they do not do sales at this location. Apparently they tag different colors but do not do a color of the week. What's the damn point of using different color tags? Very expensive store like most Goodwills are becoming. I will not shop here and just wait for the items I want to circulate to the Goodwill Outlet. Horrible, empty, overpriced and disorganized. I highly recommend this GW great finds and very reasonable prices. The store is clean and always new thing's. The staff is friendly and always willing to help.
