I recently replaced my noisy refrigerator with, unfortunately, an even noisier one I bought on Facebook Marketplace. Knowing of Savon's reputation as "experts" I went in to specifically ask for a quiet refrigerator that wouldn't wake me up at night from a loud fan and rumbling. I should have been more patient and done more research. The one she sold me was even noisier then the original one and missing a part inside - it's also kind of dirty. I complained to the store about this and she said she'd replace it with a quieter one when one came in and to stay in touch via email. This never happened as she stopped returning my emails and now I'm stuck with a crummy, noisy and dirty old fridge missing a part that can't be replaced. You'd like buying a semi decent fridge wouldn't be so difficult but alas, this is not the case. read more

I love this place so much, I've been a customer for over 15 years, and I can't believe I haven't written a review until now. Years ago, a friend told me that old antique stoves are incredibly beautiful additions to a kitchen, are workhouses and will last forever, and she said I had to go to Savon and talk to Marcia. It was the best thing I ever did in terms of kitchen remodel and cooking happiness. It cooks beautifully, looks amazing, and has worked like new. Today, I had my first problem with it ever. I called Marcia to ask for her to send a repair person out, and when I described the problem, she said, do you have a paper clip and 3 minutes? Why yes, I did. Purchased a refurbished O'Keefe and Merritt stove from Savon in February 2017. This was done directly through their website as I live in New Jersey. I was a little nervous but my stove arrived about a month later in perfect condition. It sat in my dining room for almost a year because it was going into my kitchen remodel. We finally finished our kitchen a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with my new/old stove. What a great experience. I had a couple of valves leaking gas on my 1956 Wedgewood stove. I went to Savon Appliance to get some grease to fix the valves. I met Marsha and what a great experience. It's so wonderful these days to find someone with such an abundance of knowledge and wants to help you save rather than dispose and replace. Marsha walked me through what I needed to do. She spent a good 20 minutes showing me things about the stove I have owned for over 25 years and didn't know about. Taking her knowledge I went home and in a single evening my wife and I restored the entire top end of our stove. Not only did we get rid of the gas leak. But our stove lights the burners faster than ever. And I now have simmer functions on 3 burners that has never worked ever. The owner was flat out rude to me and refused to get a repair person to come out and check a broken refrigerator that they sold my landlord for 4 days and all she told me was put my stuff in the cooler deal with your landlord! They deliver and remove the old one..This time around it's during the quarantine and my refrigerator is acting up so i call. The woman who answered the phone could NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFUL. We bought a 1950 30" stove from a backyard in Highland Park...more then slightly used. a O'Keefe and Merrill, well known vintage brand to replace a VERY used 14 year old Kenmore with all modern digital...... Boy am I glad wee did and boy am I glad We followed the advice of our pals Cliff and Alanna and called Miss Marsha at Savon! She knew what We had, quoted us a serious but realistic price, and then charged us only 5/6ths of it at the end, We had our up to safety code, touched up and wonderfully cleaned stove back in our home and installed in 4 days!!! Marsha is all business but she in a wizard with these old fellers! Find a old feller used and bring it in, they will not take in cutomer repairs much longer, preferring to find and restore and sell classic raritys themselves that they find on their own! I Had a problem with my GE refrigerator. Went in looking a used refrigerator. Ask for some help and a lady named Marsha came right out to help me. First thing I asked "how much is fridge" she gave me the answer and then proceeded to ask me what was wrong with my refrigerator. After I was done explaining she said the fridge isn't broken. After that she asked me if your questions and proceeded to give me instructions on how exactly to fix my refrigerator freezer. She's a good salesman too. I had a fridge picked out just in case. But, she said to me. In my world honey if your freezer is working, your refrigerator isn't broken. So, if for some reason your refrigerator doesn't work. come back and I'll sell you one." I went home followed her instructions, My refrigerator and my freezer working. I think that's awesome and commendable.There is not too many places. Savon Appliances sold us a surprisingly pricey, very used stackable washer & dryer. I had experiences great success with used appliances in the past, however, so went ahead. Within the 90 day warranty period, the washer became clogged and wasn't draining. When the repair person came over, they drained it (by simply unplugging the tube coming out of the washbin from the filter), but provided no other assistance. Things worked okay, but then we noticed some of our clothes coming out with dirt on them. The number of clothes ruined by our washer increased over time, but of course the warranty was up. After personal investigation into the problem, we discovered hardened lint would come out every time the washer ran. This means that in the time the washer/dryer was sitting at Savon, they never properly cleaned, examined, or restored any part of the washer. They sold us a washer they themselves never bothered to check. In the end, we had to purchase another washer entirely. read more

I must admit, I was a bit weary of checking out a used appliance place, instead of switching out our inherited fridge with a brand new one from a big box retailer. But I don't think you can beat walking into a place at noontime on a Saturday, having the owner walk you through their showroom based on what you're looking for, paying $270 for a like-new fridge that they guarantee, and having it delivered by 2pm same-day. It gets better, delivery is free and taking away your old appliance is as well. Naturally they're going to turn around and fix/clean your old appliance for resale. But that's great too, because its not sending it to a dump! We were saying that it must be a hotbed for apartment complex owners, looking for washer/dryers for their laundry rooms. Definately check this place out if you're looking for a new appliance and can get past having a brand new item. You'll save yourself a ton of money not only on the appliance itself, but also on added delivery/waste charges. read more

Unfortunately, we were told by the person that recommended Savon Appliances that they send out the appliances in like-new, clean condition. When we called the owner to ask why the refrigerator we bought came in such dirty condition, she said they don't clean the applicances. A bit of a disappointment after the high expectations we had from reviews. After a long move, one of the last things you want to do is to clean an old refrigerator that has been sitting around for a while. The refrigerator has a limited warranty against normal service failure for 90 days. One year free service - customer pays parts and labor only. As with any purchase - buyer beware. They have new and old appliances coming in all the time. It's not fancy, but the staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Family owned and operated for decades, what is not to love? I found the fridge I needed, used, but super clean and a great price. They switched the doors for me and had it delivered easy. And this place is a hidden gem! They refurbish old old old stoves and they are beautiful! One day, when I have my own home... I am going to have to come get a stove from them! Twelve years ago, I bought a refurbished Kenmore washer and dryer from this place in Burbank. Paid $250 for the set. Recently, the dryer stopped working. I went online to repair clinic and went down the list of possible reasons. Thermal fuse, starter switch, door switch. Nope, nope, and nope. Everything was fine. Had already replaced the belt about a year ago. Which left me with something expensive to fix. Motor, perhaps. Rather than putting a large sum of money into an old dryer, I went back to Savon with the intention of buying another one, or possibly another set. Would they buy back the old washer, which works fine? The employee (Debbie?) asked me a bunch of questions, to determine if the dryer could be repaired, rather than replaced. The owner Marsha did the same. She said that Kenmore appliances are built to last, and offered to send a repairman to check out my dryer before making any decisions. If I did need to replace the dryer, she would find me one to match the washing machine. Why spend money you don't have to spend? She also said that if the repair was expensive, and I ended up buying another dryer instead, she would not charge me for the service call. Pretty decent of her, and since I had nothing to lose, I said sure. When I got home, I thought about one more thing I could try. Plugging in the dryer while forcing the door switch in the "on" position. That worked. I just needed to replace something called an actuator, a simple fix. I canceled the service call, and thanked Marsha for her help. Here's the thing, if she had been a dishonest greedy salesperson, she would have sold me a dryer on the spot. Instead, she had the integrity to provide honest advice, and the philosophy that if something still works, it should not just be discarded. I'm very happy I went back. read more

a tough decision, i ended up NOT purchasing the vintage stove i'd always wanted, given this remodel probably has a future more as a rental than a forever-home - and who wants random tenants using their amazing range... that said, i was there probably an hour or so and they spent the time to very patiently answer all my gobs of questions about every range and feature and history and dimension. i forgot the really nice lady's name but she was so patient and helpful. i fell in love with at least 3 ranges; it just didn't, in the end, make sense given my circumstances. if/when they change, i'll be back! if you love vintage ranges, definitely check Savon out - they're extremely knowledgable and their prices seemed quite fair in the shopping and research i'd done. read more

This is a 10 star review! In renovating our 1940's house I needed a new stove/range and was disheartened to read so many bad reviews for most new ones. A neighbor has had a vintage 1950's stove for 35 years and still working good so I'm glad I found Savon Appliances in Burbank. When I saw the inventory though I wasn't so sure I would do this. Their very knowledgeable sales person, Marsha, showed me refurbished stoves and I decided to go for it. Well, all I can say now is "WOW - WONDERFUL - BEAUTIFUL" So happy with my 'work of art' 1950's O'Keefe and Merritt done by Jerry. Delivered by George who explained how it works to me and my surprised admiring contractor workers and Marsha can answer any further questions. If any service needed (most likely not) I just have to call the store, unlike some reviews saying bad or no customer service from big companies like GE. I went there today to buy a fridge and the people couldn't have been nicer. I was worried they would rush me because I came in 15 minutes before closing but it wasn't a problem at all. The man who works there showed me all the different ones in my price range and it turns out that one had been marked down that morning from $250 to $200 simply because they advertise that they have fridges starting at $200 and they didn't at that time. I went with that one and it turned out to be more energy efficient than the one I was looking at for $275. Delivery is also included which surprised me because I live in Korea town. I was expecting to pay around $250-$275 plus tax and $50 for delivery but all in all I only spent $200 plus tax (and tip for the guys who come to deliver it). They also have a ton of very cool vintage appliances that they all refurbish themselves. The guy could tell that I am interested in antique so he showed me a bunch of them just for fun. Everyone there is so friendly! I highly recommend this place! read more

This is a 2fer. The first part is for the washer/dryer/fridge we purchased and is about 5 years overdue. Marsha was terrific and gave us a great deal on a 40+ year old Maytag washer/dryer set as well as a late 90's Amana refrigerator. They had all worked perfectly until yesterday when the washer sprung a leak, which leads to me to the second part of the review. I called Marsha and she sent Luis this morning, who also happens to be the same man who refurbished the washer before I purchased it. He replaced the faulty part as well as the old belts and hoses and all for a fraction of the cost to repair a modern washer. I couldn't be happier with the value and service all around. And I gotta say, I'm actually glad something, albeit small, finally when wrong with one of these machines. As to the people complaining, you are getting a GREAT deal on used stuff, so of course it's gonna be scratched, etc. We had to get a VERY specific sized stackable washer/dryer for our condo. They delivered it and installed it, which was backbreaking work to fit into a tight spot. They were professional and nice. When we noticed it was missing the lint guard, they told us to stop by any time and they gave us one. No problem. We had one issue with the washer. They came the next day to repair it- easy! I've never purchased a fridge in 52 years but suddenly found myself looking at a great 2 bedroom apt with wood floors sans fridge. Building manager immediately drops Savon's name and days later I am looking at used fridges which I know nothing about. A wonderful woman who was clearly in charge holds all calls (takes their numbers), gives me the quick low-down of the boxy, taken-for-granted necessity and within 3 minutes I own a fridge! Unfortunately the refrigerator that we purchased two years ago died. I feel as though a purchase should last long than this. Maybe not. But it was really inconvenient to lose our refrigerator and part of me wishes I had just purchased new instead of used. Even though it was a savings two years ago, it's now a bigger expense because of having to purchase an entirely new refrigerator. I called and they could only offer me their standard repair service. LA has this weird thing about apartments not coming with refrigerators. After researching a few different places near the valley I began my quest to buy a used refrigerator that didn't look or smell terrible and was not infested with cockroaches. Simple, right?.... not so much. After visiting other appliance stores closer to van nuys, I developed this fear of smelling the refrigerators once I opened the door... seriously, it's like nothing I've ever smelt. And in one particular store the guy tried to sell me a fridge that had a cockroach in it with broken shelves. Ummm.... no thanks. Savon was my fourth appliance store since I live in van nuys and was avoiding driving to Burbank. I wish I had went there first. Marsha was knowledgeable, friendly and when it can time to make a decision, she walked away to give me and my boyfriend space to talk about it. I spent $300 including tax and shipping on a fridge that met my requirements and has been working well for almost a month. The delivery guys were super nice (don't forget to tip them!) and it came the morning after I paid for it. The fridge comes with a short warranty, can't remember but I think it was 60 days, but in reading her reviews, it seems as though if something goes wrong with it down the road I will feel comfortable calling Marsha. I highly recommend not wasting your time by visiting other used appliance stores. The maximum you would save is $50, but it's not worth the cockroaches and bad smells. read more

This place is amazing. I went here to look at the vintage stoves and they are for the most part completely out of my price range. I told Marsha I'd been shopping on craigslist as well. Rather than tell me its a bad idea or try to sell me on just buying from Savon; She took me around to all the stoves and showed me what to look for in a good vintage stove. She let me email her photos of stoves I'd found on the internet and answered all my questions. Marsha and her crew are amazing.
