Very nice coffee shop that has free WiFi and plenty of space to dine in or get work done. From the moment I walk in the vibe was very relaxing and the service was great. I was greeted with a smile and great hospitality. After looking over the menu I decided to get me the Margarita Panini that came with fries. I also got me a Pistachio Latte that was so good, it's the best one I had ever. My sandwich was good, it had such a cheesy pull from the fresh mozzarella and with a delicious flavor from the eggplant and all the other ingredients it was a pretty good sandwich. Although I wish it had just a tad bit more pesto on it. My fries were thick cut and crispy, yummy! I also got me a pumpkin cheesecake slice and a tiramisu cup to go. This place could be something special, but it consistently misses the mark. Aesthetically, Savor Coffee and More is a charming and cozy spot with a great layout and inviting ambiance. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I visited on a Monday afternoon around 1 PM with my partner, and the service left a lot to be desired. We placed our order before another guest seated nearby, yet that guest received both their drink and full meal before we were even checked on. I ordered the English breakfast, and my partner ordered a grilled Caesar salad. My dish came out late, and hers didn't arrive until nearly five minutes after mine, leaving us awkwardly waiting instead of enjoying our meal together. The pacing was off, and the lack of coordination was disappointing. The menu itself is underwhelming. It's limited and lacks creativity--basic offerings that don't match the effort put into the café's interior. For a place with such an appealing aesthetic, the food and experience should be much better. To top it off, the identity of the place feels confused. Is it a café? A brunch spot? A coffee shop? It's unclear--and that confusion is reflected in both the service and menu. Plenty of potential here, but until they tighten up the kitchen, improve service consistency, and offer more thoughtful menu options, I can't recommend this spot. This is our local go to for breakfast/lunch. The staff is so welcoming and they always remember us as soon as we walk in. Savor is definitely family owned and they make you feel as if you're entering their home. There is a constant flow of customers. I've even seen customers with laptops working out of the restaurant. We always order the same items from the menu. Our favorite has been the savor flatbread, I replace the prosciutto for salmon and it's literally perfect. Another great item from the menu is their avocado toast. As far as drinks, their coffee is great and so is their matcha latte. You can catch me here at least once a week! read more

Large cafe, nice to sit, suitable ambiance, very clean and excellent service, but the food wasn't as good as I expected. I had fish tacos, the fish tasted fishy which fish should never be, and the guacamole was obviously pre-made and very vinegary. The chai tea latte I drank was more latte than tea flavored. It was also somewhat expensive, coming out to $29 with tax and tip, more than I would expect in a cafe like this, especially if the food isn't excellent. It is wheelchair accessible. read more

Easilyyyyyyy my favorite cafe in the Bronx. I wish they had another location besides Riverdale. Everything is good quality, good portions, and makes me feel like I'm sitting somewhere in Prishtina. So I knew this place would either be great, or it would be terrible. Yeah today... I lucked out, and I had a great experience. The coffee here is REAL GOOD. I ordered a double espresso and was very impressed. It took me 30 years to learn that if you want a guaranteed cup of fresh coffee, you must order a cappuccino, a latte or an espresso. I ordered an iced matcha latte. The regular matcha latte is $6.00, but the iced matcha latte is $6.50? I'm paying more for ice? Same size...just ice? And the overall ambience is welcoming! Now for the treats... they are having a soft opening, so I will need to return to try out other dishes, but for now, I tired the Affogato (transports you to Italy), matcha green tea (close your eyes, you're in Japan), limoncello cake (right back to Italy), and the red velvet cake (safe to safe, head south US)! Nice addition to the Riverdale neighborhood. Great for brunch. A bit of a disappointment with Eggs Benedict, a classic brunch item, though. They need work to meet the true classic Eggs Benedict recipe: the English muffin should be toasted, Canadian bacon used instead of regular bacon, eggs, the centerpiece of this dish, should be poached properly, Hollandaise sauce needs more acidity (lemon juice) and should be added more generously to the dish. Microgreens should be forgotten altogether as they only add unwelcome bitterness to this classic. Hope the chef reads this post and does just that, so I keep Savor as my go-to place for brunch. I arrived not expecting much yet wanting to be pleasantly surprised. I wasn't. Beyond the cute, quaint decor, the food was lackluster. I had the Hometown Glory Panini expecting to be delighted by the beef prosciutto, sausage, and mozarella. I wasn't. Apparently, beef prosciutto is just thinly sliced, salty beef and even with sausage and semi-melted mozzarella alongside, it wasn't enough to make for a good panini. Super dry and super bland. The fries that came with it were pretty good but, unfortunately, there were so few of them the thrill was not long-lived. The chicken tenders were not what you'd expect. They're thin, dry, and taste more like breading than chicken -- definitely disappointing. Actually, it might not have been so bad it were flavorful but to be thin, dry and devoid of flavor is not only disappointing but disrespectful as well. For dessert, the pistachio cheesecake. Again, it's not what you'd expect. There's definitely pistachio but not so much cheesecake. It's hard to explain what it actually is but a poor description of it would be "cheesecake". It's not a terrible dessert, it's just not a cheesecake. I fear I've made this place sound more horrible than it actually is. I'd return, but only to explore the drinks (it is a coffee shop) and desserts. I'd steer clear of the cooked foods as these were consistently disappointing. read more

I enjoyed my experience today in Savor! I could say I savored ever sip/ bite. I did also get food, but I only want to talk about the drink experience today. I sat down on the couch and there was another person on the other side. We both went about out business and maybe 30 minutes into sitting a conversation was struck up. I had been sipping on a tall glass of water along with a delicious cup of black coffee while enjoying the book I was reading. I felt very relaxed. The tall cup of water balanced out the coffee jitters as the person I was speaking to said as the reason they also got water with their coffee. Great minds think alike. The food at this place is ok. Today I received deliver for the eggplant panini and it was horrible. The bread was soggy and the eggplant had no flavor at all. There was barely any pesto in the panini. The French fries were so hard basically not edible. I've had the food a couple of times and I think I'm done. The ambiance is beautiful and amazing. The decor and vibe is very attractive and adds great aesthetics to the community. However, for the amount of food they give it's pricey. This small round piece of flat bread with chicken and mozzarella was $15. It's not priced well for a coffee shop in the Bronx. My friend and I were disappointed when we saw it. The chicken on the flatbread was good but the portion is not worth the price. The chicken fingers are ok. It could be better. Fries were delicious. The caramel latte was delicious, but the chai latte lacked spice. It just tasted like steamed milk with a tiny kick. For all 4 of those items we spent about $44... too expensive. If you're looking to do laptop work there is no Wi-Fi. The service is good. This is a great neighborhood locale with cool decor and friendly staff. They have solid coffee and lattes which saves a walk up the hill to Moss Cafe or Starbucks and the hours are great. They don't sell coffee beans (it may be some sort of issue with Lavazza. I do wish I could buy beans there though! They have a good selection of cakes and a few sweet breads that are wrapped to take with you. I haven't tried their breakfast options or crepes, but I see people enjoying them all the time and am sure they are worth a taste I am a big fan of their paninis. I am not actually a panini person, but their chicken is always perfectly cooked and seasoned and the bread is always fresh. Their mozzarella panini is a great combination too. Their fries are a little seasoned and they serve them with this white sauce that is mostly Mayo, but works well with the sandwiches and fries. The vibe is cool and laid back at the same time. The seating options are varied and it works for a small group or a family with kids. Their prices are reasonable. Sandwiches and breakfasts are good prices - and they don't charge crazy delivery fees on Seamless. It always comes quickly. Overall I think everyone should welcome Savor and give them a try. read more

What.is.happening!!! "Soft opening" is an understatement. We walked in at 11:56 and told that the breakfast ends at noon (but does not tell us you MUST order lunch), so we promptly order a SIMPLE crepe with one minute to spare. Waitress tells us we can not order that. So we decide to order a sandwich instead and are told that that will take 20 mins. Why? I realize it's Sunday but for a coffee shop not to be able to put out a crepe at noon or even a sandwich in timely manner is absurd. Other than the cons (I am heated and still hungry) the decor is beautiful, and prices seem reasonable. The only thing I can comment on is the weak coffee I had. Anyway! Enjoy if you do decide to go but save yourself some money and make your coffee and sandwich at home and go find a seat in park for atmosphere. read more

What a lovely addition to Riverdale. Savor is fast becoming our go-to coffee and breakfast spot. The food and hospitality has been consistently good. I am surprised by the negative reviews based on our experiences and hope those authors are willing to give Savor the benefit of the doubt given it is still going through a soft opening phase. Opening a new coffee shop / restaurant is always going to throw up some curve balls at the best of times let alone during a global pandemic. The menu, logistics, staff are all being worked out. A little understanding and support for a new business is a reasonable ask. So far we have ordered various coffee options, all of which have been very good, the croissants are particularly good and served warm when you take a table, also the avocado toast which was delicious, fresh and well priced. We love the chill vibe and being able to choose a table and have staff wait on us, the interior is beautiful, stylish and cozy. We are excited for Savor to continue to evolve and look forward to the day we can head there for a glass of wine, cheeseboard and perhaps some live music. read more

Decor, So let's stop by talking about the actual Decor and ambience. It is very welcoming and warm; looks a little like a bar and a café; a great place to hang out if you're meeting friends or family.  As you approach the front there are usually tables and chairs outside depending on what the weather is. They have french doors that open up the inside as well. The only negative thing about sitting outside or if the doors are open is that there are usually people smoking their cigarettes close by, and this doesn't make it smoke free, which is a consideration especially for kids.  Customer Services, This place is quite new, but our family has frequented it many times now. The customer service is pretty good in general. Most of the time the staff are friendly and welcoming. Sometimes it's a bit difficult to figure out whether you need to wait to be seated or just sit down. They do ask us for proof of our vaccination when we want to dine in. However, this does not seem to be strictly implemented.  On our last visit, one of the senior workers had a go at us and told off my 7 year old daughter to sit in her place and implied that she had damaged the bathroom. Upon asking where the damage was, he corrected himself citing that he meant that he didn't want her to damage the property. She had been walking around and admiring their décor. It was really bad the way the situation was handled, as we were shouted and screamed at by this older gentlemen while we were seated. The waiter rushed to intervene and apologized to us, on behalf of his colleague saying he doesn't speak English. He seemed to speak well enough to shout at my daughter and not apologize himself. The damage was done my daughter left in scared and in tears, it was unacceptable how we were treated as paying customers.  Clearly a lack of training made this individual conduct himself in this manner.  My wife did later tell me after the incident, the same older worker was looking at them strangely as they entered. She assumed maybe it was because she was wearing a hijab and didn't think much of it.  The food, So the Breakfast Menu is available from 8am till 12pm. They have waffles, it was a favorite for my daughter. One whole waffle cut up into pieces of 4 with Nutella spread topped with bananas and strawberries, neatly presented. Nothing exciting for the rest of the waffles seems like a store brought mixture.  The Crêpes were one of my favorites, I used to ask for honey and Feta cheese.  Avocado toast was okay it was well put together a good presentation. The egg was fried too much, had no runny yolk.  The avocado spread itself seemed it wasn't made fresh; it had a familiar texture to a store bought one.  Having eaten in greasy cafes in England for a full English breakfast, I was expecting a familiar breakfast, this was not the case. First of all, if you're looking for kosher, halal, vegetarian or even vegan this is not available here at all. So when we ordered the full English, we asked for no Turkey or Bacon. There was no fried Mushrooms and onions, no sausages, and no baked beans. There's no Swiss cheese in an English breakfast. This was a big disappointment, I had to rate it as the worst dish on the menu.  For the lunch and dinner menu we have tried the Margarita panni and the truffle flatbread. Both were well seasoned and flavored. The portion and sizes were very filling. You could even share the flat bread and Panni between two people.  I never asked whether they have a separate cooking section for vegetarian food, so if you are vegetarian you may want to ask.  Coffee most of the times well-made and rightly done. Sometime when they are busy, they do seem to be rushed. This is usually easy to spot as they over steam the milk to over 120c. This then loses the sweetness of the milk and burns it. They do seem to have a barista who knows what his doing. However, when the barista is not there its quite evident. There milkshakes are quite good used with real fruit, the chocolate one was our favorite.  Summary  Price wise if you're eating here it's reasonable for NYC value for money.  They've really done well for the way the place looks. It's nice to see a new modern looking place on the high street here. The biggest negative factor here that lets it down, and needs improvement is the food. The confusion here is if it's a Cafè where are the freshly made pastries? The impression you get visually is that of coffee shop but you end up with slightly upmarket diner style food. It would be nice to see more options that are not "safe staples". Rather than buying store bought items and putting them together to serve customers. it would be nice to see more freshly made items too. read more

My favorite spot in Riverdale right now! I recommend everyone go check this amazing place out. Starting with their drinks, you definitely can't find any coffee that compares! They use high class Lavazza, and still keep their prices affordable. Their iced matcha latte and iced caramel latte are my favorite. Now the food..! Absolutely delicious. It is so impressive how a coffee shop can manage to have a variety of options. The portions and prices are amazing considering it is a cafe! The Avochetta Avocado toast is my favorite from the breakfast menu. I can eat the pesto chicken sandwich and hometown glory panini everyday! They have a nice variety of desserts as well. They have pastries from another small business called The Spot which are delicious. The pistachio cheesecake is something I've never seen before! The staff is so welcoming; they are the reason I come several times every week! Every time I visit, they seem to be very busy and still handle everything very well. If there are any issues, they're very quick to take care of it! I think sometimes our community forgets this is a brand new small business opening in the middle of a pandemic!! I have worked in a cafe/restaurant business with a kitchen before and giggled at how inconsiderate one of the reviews about this place was... A kitchen takes about 20-30 minutes to transform from breakfast to lunch or dinner; especially a small kitchen like they have at Savor since it is a cafe! I cannot speak to the "and more," but the coffee is not very good. The beans are over roasted, and there was neither foam nor creaminess in the latte. I find the idea of offering only one size of coffee - 8 ounce - strange, though perhaps this is a way to make more money as the price for that 8 ounces seems steep to me.
