This is a busy place. This is my first visit but my friends come once a week. There is always a wait. Not sure how the seating works but I could have sworn two to three couples went before us yet they arrived after us. My friend said they could have had a reservation. So don't be surprised when you see people go ahead of you. We were seat in the back area and had a very friendly, smiley young lady. She was pure joy and did a good job waiting on us. There was also a young man I think who was a busboy/helper. He was sweet too. I ordered Biscuit and gravy, $5.99. They were good and that is all I can say. I have better. My girlfriend had pancakes and bacon. I tried the pancakes and they were good. My friends husband had the Lumber Jack Special $10.99. He loved it. The food was good, nothing special, just good. But the service by our waitress was five stars. My friend just loved her and said that was reason he enjoyed coming here, because the staff made him feel special.

Grit bowl with bacon and eggs

Tried breakfast and it's really great! They know how to do breakfast Southern style. They offer lots of options and it's very fresh and made to order. The grit bowl was fantastic and can be created to fit your taste. You can swap grits for potatoes, as well. Looking forward to going back for more yummy breakfast meals with friends and family!

Yet, the ambience inside has a cozy and inviting home presence with a comfortable leather couch, festive home decor & furniture, and friendly staff. Jesalyn, our server, was very amicable, calm, professional, and recommended the Winter Wonderland seasonal coffee with chocolate & hazelnut flavors. We both ordered it and spent about two hours there. Service was efficient yet peaceful even when there was a flow of traffic after we were served. Time flew fast there and yet the environment always maintained a sense of serenity despite the flow of people coming in the coffeehouse. There are different vendors with many items to select for purchase from art to accessories. The colorful bags with the smiley faces promoting mental health awareness caught my eye at one of the vendor areas there. I love that the coffeehouse is veteran owned, decorated for Christmas, and has an eclectic mix of handmade items and local art pieces. This is definitely a local business & coffeehouse to visit again in the future.

From leather sofas, cute table sets, meeting rooms, and Christmas decor, you get a real sense of peace and comfort. The seasonal coffee with chocolate undertones was a delight and was what I needed from such a long drive. We spent over two hours here taking photos and seeing family. The staff here are welcoming and so generous. The business supports Veterans and offers military discounts! Can't wait to meet Eric, the owner someday to thank him for his service and as a fire fighter. True American hero. Jesalyn, served us our coffee and assisted with all sorts of keto friendly options such as sugar free flavored syrups. Delicious! I suggested to have old Christmas favorites playing on the television such as Miracle on 34th Street or It's a Wonderful Life, the. I would have asked for a job and never left. The business supports local venders and community by selling a variety of favorites such as cute smiley face hand bags, jam, mugs, art work, photos, cards, and other gifts. Suggest stopping in for a coffee or setting up your workspace and sitting for a while.

When we got there we were told there was no reservation. by the manager in a very rude manner. I said I called about a month ago and the gentleman that answered took my reservation. The manager said not possible, because we only started taking reservations for Easter about a week and a half ago. I dig a little bit and find the manger lied, they started taking Easter reservations in early March, ironically close to 2/28/2026. (See below) Nineteen Restaurant at Olde Point Country Club in Hampstead, NC, began promoting reservations for their Easter Sunday Brunch (April 5, 2026) in early March 2026, with public posts highlighting the event starting around March 8, 2026. The brunch features a special menu served from 9 AM to 2 PM on April 5, 2026. Below is the response I received from them from my google review; You keep giving us a bad review for the same problem we addressed you didn't have a reservation. it's easter and it's a very busy day. We have three big rooms that are full so if one or two are not it's because the kitchen can not cook any faster the law of physics allows. Good luck They are totally nasty and unprofessional. That original brand has since moved just half a mile down the road into a stunning new state-of-the-art space, leaving this spot to be completely reimagined into something fresh and inviting. The interior of Palomino Cafe & Cocina is bright, clean, and open, with a welcoming mix of tables and booth seating. Wood paneling adds warmth and charm, while light-colored decor gives the space an airy, modern feel--perfect for breakfast or lunch. There's a parking lot out front with plenty of parking. The menu offers a fantastic lineup of traditional and elevated Mexican dishes, with standout breakfast and lunch options. Guests can customize guisos caseros with eight different protein choices, served as plated meals or as tacos, burritos, or sopas. I ordered a cold brew coffee, which had excellent flavor. For breakfast, I chose the sandwich on sourdough bread, which comes with your choice of protein and cheese, plus an egg. I paired it with a stack of pancakes, and both were exceptional. The sandwich was delicious, and the pancakes had that perfect spongy texture--substantial but never soggy. I also highly recommend the tres leches pancake option--it's truly divine. On a previous visit, I came for lunch and had the quesabirrias, which remain one of my all-time favorite dishes. They're flavorful, perfectly crisped, and worth the trip alone. Nearly everything is made in-house, including their freshly squeezed juices, and it shows. Every item feels vibrant and thoughtfully prepared. The staff are friendly, welcoming, inviting, and very helpful. They clearly take pride in the restaurant and the experience they offer. Palomino Cafe & Cocina is a standout reinvention of a familiar space, offering fresh, flavorful Mexican cuisine and warm hospitality in a beautiful new setting.
