We were feeling Chinese food so I decided to try this new place,,, new to us anyway. We started with the teriyaki chicken, a couple of vegetable egg rolls a bowl of egg flour soup, Kung pow beef with steamed rice and an extra side of steamed vegetables. I have to say the vegetable egg rolls were good and tasty although they could've been a little crispier, they were still pretty decent.. the teriyaki chicken was a little dry, but the flavor was really good and the Kung pow beef was exceptional with the right amount of heat and the flavor was spot on. I have to say we enjoyed the whole meal but need to point out the egg flour soup stood out, not only within this meal, but in most soups that we have had.

Okay, a friend got me to revisit after a gap of a couple years - and it's improved. Nio Szechuan (as it's spelled on the sign and the menu, but not on Yelp) has delicious fresh food, and it comes out pretty fast. Service was quite good on this trip - friendly, smiling and attentive. The room seemed clean this time (no weird smells, either) although there are still kid paw prints on the front window (Please, Lord: tell me they're not the same ones as two years ago?). They appear to have gotten a beer and wine license. The food is still great, 5-star: perhaps the best I've had in this market in this particular cuisine (and the local folks who grew up with the cuisine are well represented in the clientele - usually getting to-go orders: note that the daily specials board are always posted in Chinese). The prices appear to be exactly the same as they were two years ago - they were really high at that time but are kinda average for a good place these days.

First time trying this place out. It's hard to find some good Chinese around here. I feel like all the good Chinese food places I used to hit up are now unfortunately not as good as they used to be. So now I long for a great well seasoned fried rice and tender chicken. On a whim I decided to give these guys a try. I ordered the fried dumplings and the chicken fried rice. The dumplings were a bit bland and lacked seasoning. The fried rice unfortunately was the same. It really lacked flavor. The pieces of chicken on the other hand were very tender and juicy. It really helped save the show. Overall the food was ok. It really lacked flavor which unfortunately was disappointing for me. I was really hoping to find a new go to get my Chinese food fix. I guess I'll keep searching.

My first visit to this establishment was January 22, 2026. There is good parking and signage. The decor is relaxed, and the wait person was pleasant and efficient. I arrived shortly after one, so I think the lunch crowd had dissipated. I was seated immediately. There's a very nice lunchtime menu and the prices here are excellent. Once again, I went with General Tso's chicken. Lunch included, steamed rice, egg drop soup, and an egg roll. The egg drop soup was excellent and had a nice thickness to the broth. The egg roll was small, but very tasty. Nice plumb sauce or dipping sauce to go with it. Nice portion of steamed rice. General Phil's chicken had nice small crispy pieces and a tender inside. The sauce was toward the syrupy side.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was very delicious and service was amazing! I felt like the entrees had amazing flavor and also very filling. I would definitely come here again!

Heard this is a sister restaurant to sushi xuan (which is my absolute favorite) so we decided to check it out. Service was quick, friendly, and on top of checking in on us. Food was hot, fresh and yummy. Menu was small but all looked delicious. Restaurant was small but filled and still felt like a nice open space

Real good portion sizes and a delightful staff, what more could you ask for? My coworker and I split a BBQ Pork Lo Mein, House Fried Rice, General Tso's Chicken and some Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp. The General Tso's chicken was outstanding. Mongolian Beef also fantastic. Wasn't particularly a fan of the flavor on the walnut shrimp, but putting the spicy chili on it drastically improved the taste. Staff was very welcoming and attentive, when we arrived we were greeted with smiles, there was no one else in the restaurant at the time so it was real quiet Over all a great restaurant, will definitely be back!

I've only ordered food to go here. Service is usually fast and prices are average. The egg rolls were kinda small but the sauce was good. My partner said his fried rice didn't have much flavor despite ordering it spicy. My Kung pao chicken was ok it had flavor but wish it had more variety of vegetables it was mostly bell pepper and onion. For convienece we occasionally come here and want to support local businesses but we haven't had a dish that makes us crave coming back.

It is truly one of those rare neighborhood gems that feels both authentic and incredibly welcoming. The service was impeccable from the start, but the highlight was truly the charming interaction with the chef. He was kind enough to personally walk me through the evening's selections, and we had the most delightful chat! I decided on one of my absolute weaknesses: the Fresh Pork Dumplings. The chef was quite attentive and offered to add an onion paste, but after a brief explanation of my preferences, he was more than happy to prepare them exactly to my liking. It's that level of bespoke attention that I truly adore. The dumplings arrived steaming hot in just a matter of minutes absolutely bursting with authentic, clean flavors. It was a thoroughly wonderful experience, and I shall certainly be making this a regular stop on my Uptown rounds!

Even though its a small parking lot in a strip plaza. Fresh hand pulled noodles are good, which were a little soft for my personal preference, but still good. It may sound strange but things with pork will taste porky. My girlfriend doesn't like pork, but can eat it, but she ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings and it was too porky for her. For me, it tasted just right because this is the flavors I grew up with. The dumpling dough had a nice texture that I prefer. My Ramen had a big fatty pieces of pork which is what I like. They didnt skimp. It was a good bowl of noodle soup. Wouldn't say its the best ramen I ever had, but it was good. Beef roll was good, I would say its one of the better ones I've seen in ABQ where its really filled with beef. Would recommend this. We also got soup dumplings and I will say that we didnt get the proper spoons for them. At first I thought they just didnt offer them, but looking at photos, we never got them. It makes a difference for your eating experience and enjoyment. We will definitely be back as this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area and you really get some real Chinese variety and not your basic generic stereotypical menu.

It was so good last year that we actually had a conversation with the owner about them being from San Francisco, after I told him it was the best Chinese food I've had in America outside of San Francisco. Well, that has changed significantly, and not for the better. We made a trip down from Santa Fe this week, specifically to eat at Noodle Works. Yes, we drove over an hour each way on Monday just to eat here. What a mistake! It was clear the General Tzo chicken was microwaved and not fresh fried. It was absolutely inedible! Mall food court Chinese is better than this dish was. Strange because almost exactly 1 year ago their General Tzo's dish was among them best I've ever tasted. I know this dish is not authentic, but to serve pre-fried then microwaved chicken is inexcusable! The Singapore Noodle dish this time was incredibly dry. The curry was more like a dry rub stuck to the noodles than it was a real curry sauce. Again... mall food court quality. Another dish that used to be amazing here. The crab in the crab rangoon was so fishy you could smell it before it was even delivered to the table. It had clearly sat out unrefridgerated during prep for far too long. It was inedible, or of fear of getting food poisoning... they did take it off of our bill. We are so disappointed in how bad the quality has fallen off in the last year! We loved them so much in the past that we will give them one more try, but we will not be making a special trip down from Santa Fe to eat here again. We REALLY hope they get their act together because we really like the employees and owner and want to continue to support them. Management did apologize without being prompted for the slow service and poor quality food, so hopefully they know serious improvement is needed if they are to stay in business. We wish them the best because they are great people. Good luck!

My ratings above are on taste. Esthetically, everything looked amazing. I didn't have any of the egg rolls and house special fried rice, but I am sure they were good! I am bit of an egg foo young fanatic. I like to order it at any new Chinese place. Their egg foo young was made in way I had yet to experience. They served it with big egg only omelet on the bottom and the veggies and pork were stir fried with the gravy on top. First time I ever had it served that way, but it was delicious! Their Mapo was delightful, the tofu was soft but not too soft so it still kept its shape. The sauce was the perfect amount of spicy too. They Oyster Beef was beautifully served with a healthy amount of bok choy. They flavor was very light. I would have liked some heat or a lil more umami, but overall a good dish. We will be sure coming back to Yummi to try some other Chinese entree staples! I'll be looking forward to it.
