14oz ribeye with loaded baked potato

After winning big in the Casino at Sandia, my girlfriend and I went to have steak dinners at a medium fancy restaurant. We were looked over by a nice waiter named Tom. Tom brought me a nice glass of NM blonde beer and it was pretty good. He also brought out chips and salsa, which we lightly snacked on due to the want for a good meal. My girlfriend ordered an impressive shrimp cocktail and she enjoyed every bit of it. I ordered a 14oz steak medium with broccoli and twice baked potato. She ordered a filet mignon, with mashed potatos and a nicely sized salad. I got out of my comfort zone and ordered a tropical mojito with mango flavored vodka and other mango elements. It was surprisngly delicious. Overall, it was a great experience eating there and after doing well in the casino we both earned it. Thanks again to Tom for looking after us and we'll definitely try to come back soon.

Good eats and nice service from a professional server. The room is comfy, if casual. The prices were reasonable for good portions of somewhat-better-than-average (and certainly more-interesting-than-the-usual) tasting fare. My visit was to meet a friend, but I'll be bringing my wife here soon.

Since Johnny is back, the bar is the best place to take respite from the manic action on the casino floor. Sports on the TVs, cool A/C, warm lighting, good vibes, decent food and kind service. This place is better than a few years ago. The ambience is comfortable near the conference area. Views of the pool and comfortable chairs make it a good place to people watch. Take a break from gambling a visit awhile, sit a spell.

I think there's a little bit of an identity crisis happening here. Maybe because their buffet is closed and they're trying to add items to their menu for casual dining but the selection is interesting. On one hand they have steak and lobster and salmon but then, they have "platos" (that are very pricey - $17 for 2 tamales) which have zero heat or New Mexican flavor or you have omelets, meatloaf and sandwiches. This is one of the only places here to sit and have a meal that's not picnic-style seating so until the buffet opens it's really the only option unless you're willing to wait in a very long line at the quick dining and eat standing up.

Here with my wife for her ADDC conference. We ate here twice and enjoyed both meals. She had stuffed sopapillas while I had the hatch chile rellenos during our first visit. Both were good portions. On our second visit, we shared a 14oz ribeye with a loaded baked potato and 2 dinner salads. The steak was cooked to perfection. Paired with Modelo Especial beer and a glass of moscato wine. Very good overall experience.

Located in Sandia Resort and Casino, this is a great choice for dinning in! To explain, Sandia has many food options; including food courts, and bars. Additionally, as of now the buffet is shut down. Arriving after 1 on a Saturday, it was not too busy and the staff was able to accommodate my party of 3 when we arrived. We were served our drinks and complimentary chips and salsa, only minutes after getting settled. The Stuffed Sopapilla was great and the Council Room Platter was big, satisfying my taste buds!

The food here is amazing! I actually like the steaks and prime rib here better than up at the rooftop restaurant. I've had almost every dish on the menu from the breakfast to the sandwiches to dessert. My wedding reception from my first marriage was even here back when they had the wine room (where the coffee place is now located). Tonight I had the prime rib with salad (sans croutons) and the seasonal veggies while the husband had their famous green chile meatloaf with salad, garlic mashed potatoes, and veggies. The food was again fantastic! I highly recommend it! The only reason for less than 5 stars is that our waitress disappeared after we received our food. It took forever to get a to-go box and the bill despite being her only table.

I've been hitting all the spots I can and being very strategic about the food stops. This place is nostalgic, historic, and right along the way in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gives you all the old-school diner vibes immediately. I will say, all the young ladies working there were extremely nice, and the service was great. It definitely passes the vibes test. The burger tasted like that classic all-American diner burger. Not too greasy, but not trying to be some "beyond meat" situation either. Just good stuff. The fries were great, and very, very, very importantly: it passes the ranch test. We had a side salad with ranch, and the ranch tasted good on the salad and even better with the fries dipped in it. We also had the 66 Burger, which comes with green chiles. I had never had that on a burger before, but it was a really good twist and a nice local touch. Green chiles seem to be a big thing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so it was cool to try that there. The onion rings were great too. If I hadn't been so full, and if it wasn't noon with eight more hours of driving ahead of us, I definitely would've gotten a shake too. All in all, absolutely great classic Route 66 vibes. It has all the nostalgia, great service, and great food. 10/10 recommend. Everyone should go.

Super friendly staff especially our server, Brady. It was the perfect ending to a day of driving. I ordered the Chicken Ranchero and a Chocolate Covered Strawberry shake. Both were delicious and enough food for two people. One of the best shakes I've ever had! Came to the table all dressed up in a tall soda glass with enough extra served up in the stainless steel shake mixing cup it was made in. This place is a must stop while out on your Route 66 travels.

The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.

Our waitress did come back to bring the coffee. Before she got there we were discussing the fact that the entire staff was new. She must have overheard us and took it as some kind of slight to her. Two minutes later the manager came over to inform us that we were being rude to her server and that she would be taking over our service. After some discussion my wife said, "this is ridiculous, guess we won't be coming here again" the manager said "well I'll cancel your order and you can leave now". We said we didnt want her to cancel our order and she just said have a nice day. So we left. Sooo not the Vicks Vittles of the past.
