I got the Java chip because I am a Java chip ice cream girlie and wanted a little treat. The customer service was top notch in the drive thru because they helped answer any questions. My sister in law got the green tea iced drink. Hers was great and I would have gotten one of those too instead I was in a coffee mood. The service was fast and friendly. I accidentally dropped the bean treat on top in my cup and had to wait until the end of my drink to retrieve it. It was a still a great bean almost a fun surprise to have at the end of my drink.

I will know that it is quite a bit of way outside of Albuquerque, but a very pretty drive. They also have a little shop of some local goods, definitely worth checking out.

Grits with not as thick as I would have liked them to be. My eggs were over easy and I asked for over medium, and no cilantro. I also had the iced mocha latte coffee that I had to ask for after my food came. Service was not great. The waitress told me right away that she was running behind, not something you want to know, then came back when I was done to ask me how my food was. I prefer to be asked with in 2-3 min after my food arrives. I was a waitress and this seems to not be a rule much anymore. When I asked for a to go container she gave me something that the grits would have spilled right through as I stated they were pretty thin. As this place is one of my favorites in town, I'll be back but, I hope the service is better.

I was about halfway through my very tardy "Sixth Annual First Quarter Odyssey: 1-country/2-states,…read more09-23APR2023", and had just had a superb overnight at the outstanding High Country Lodge. I spent most of the previous day cycling East from amazing Quemada on US60, so a refreshing/regenerating overnight was essential. Obviously, I needed an equally refreshing/energizing start and this cafe--now named "Evetts" (formerly Espresso)--was the absolutely the BEST place to start! Besides unique/fresh/nutritious meals, I was almost shocked and delighted to learn that affogato was available. When biketouring/travelling, this is one of the greatest morning treats I've ever had--not only plenty of needed caffeine, and (¡probably unneeded!) sugar. I enjoyed other filling dishes before continuing my Eastern direction on US60 to SocorroNM. I didn't cycle away immediately--Magdalena is such an attractive/"unknown/undiscovered" community in which the history lives on with the structures restored/repurposed! The abandoned tracks have a great roadbed waiting for more full development/hiking-biking trail for use by locals and long-distance enthusiasts alike. ¡This is such a tremendous community, and I look forward to returning--I'll plan to stay at least TWO nights for a full experience! They have a smoothie menu and an EXTENSIVE latte menu, hung as banners along their south exterior wall. I'm working my way alphabetically through their lattes - banana, cake batter, toasted marshmallow, vanilla....and way more! Their lattes are PHENOMENAL. Coffee is not real bitter, so they don't have to go all crazy with the syrup flavorings. It's just a subtle flavor to a good coffee. (I drink coffee as a hot dessert. I want it SWEET!) Toasted marshmallow was TOO subtle so I ordered it with extra shots, and that just tasted like flavoring syrup. $5 minimum order if paying by card $3.75 lattes (They have candy bars and lighters for $1.25, so I now have a LOT of those. lol) Indoor seating as well, but I use the drive-thru exclusively. This is very nearly a daily stop for me now.
