Worth the drive!! The service was excellent. From the second we walked in the door, everyone- and I do mean everyone was friendly and helpful! The restaurant itself is well decorated. I couldn't make up my mind what to order, so my server helped me out. I got the steak and enchiladas (chicken) with green chile, rice and beans. Oh and a sopa. I'm hooked. Definitely need to go back asap. read more

This is a popular local restaurant that many people seem to enjoy, but I was doubtful they would have many gluten-free options--and I was right. The chips are fried in a shared fryer, along with everything else. The beans, red and green chili all have flour so they not gluten-free. I ended up ordering the Bosque Breakfast (two eggs, bacon, and hash browns). The restaurant was busy, and it took over 35 minutes for our food to arrive. My husband and adult kids said their food was just okay. Nothing great. Our waitress was doing her best but seemed overwhelmed. We had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. Unfortunately, the service was slow, the food was just okay, and I ended up getting sick afterward. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. read more

Second time in this restaurant. I ordered the French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and hash browns, coffee. French toast and sausage was pretty good, the scrambled eggs were hard, tough, rubbery and the hash browns were mush. For $18 plus a $7.00 tip Wecks, IHOP or Denny's would have been a better option. Wait staff did an excellent job! Probably won't be eating there again, but if I do I'd just order the French toast and sausage??? read more

Sopa's is a Bosque Farms staple. Hours are odd, closing at 1:45 pm on the weekends. The only down fall, they turn the warmers off before 1:45 pm and food was cold/Luke warm. We packed up our food and reheated it at home. They add flour to their chili, and do not offer a no gluten-free option. read more

They do indeed have good food. Service is fairly quick. Posole and Menudo are little expensive $16.00 for a pint. Liver and onions when I had it here as a take out was really dry and unappealing. I don't know why as I had it there before. Oh well, it is what it is, I can try it again or not. They are always busy though. I would visit again. read more

Another hole in the wall in a small village away from Albuquerque. Even though we had a big group we were seated quickly. Waiting at the table were baskets of homemade tortilla chips. Quick look at the menu saw one of my favorite - Hand breaded chicken fried steak. So that was ordered and along with a grilled ham and cheese. Considering how busy they were food came out quickly. The grilled ham and cheese was delicious & the fries were awesome - crispy. Then there was the chicken fried steak. It was huge covering most of the plate. The gravy was ok - needed a little pepper to season it. Unfortunately the steak itself left a lot to be desired. The batter was extremely rubbery - predominately on the under side. Unfortunately even though the food is always good at Sopas the service has been horrible lately. We use to go all the time but the last 3 times we have gone we have sat 15 mins without being asked drinks then wait another 10 for drinks and then another 10 to order and then once we get our food we never see the waiter/waitress again. Use to I didn't have to find someone to get a refill or something but the last 3 visits (Dinner & lunch time) i've had to ask the bus boy or someone walking by. I hate this because I do love their food, but I refuse to go somewhere where I have to do the same effort as I would at home. Hopefully things change but it will be a while before I go back. read more

The enchiladas and the stuffed sofa were delicious, but way spicier than anticipated. Be warned of the red and be double warned about the green, but get Christmas anyway. Very nice weight staff, clean and quick service. read more

I had the combination plate (take out) and it was delicious! I had a beef enchilada red, chille relleno green and a taco. The taco was just ok, but everything else was all I wanted! A friend ordered the chicken fried steak meal and it was good. The gravy was salty and both it and the potatoes were premade. But, it was delicious. Since it was my first time there, I'd sub a tamale for the taco and have set expectations about the steak (again it was delicious and I kept stealing bites of all of it! ). I would like to go back and eat at the restaurant. Everyone was so nice and the service was fast and attentive, I was impressed with all they were managing with take out and dine in and calls still coming! read more

This place always seems to have alot of business. Usually the service is good. We came on 4/1 and it was not a good experience. The food was good but some portions were very small. For 15 bucks, the fish plate was made up of some slaw, a few fries, and three small chunks of fish. I realize food cost has gone up but I expected more. Our server gave us waters and chips but that's where the attention stopped. After about 90 min we got our food. I don't think I'll be back for some time. read more

I bragged about how good sopas was to my boys and we were disappointed today. In the past I was happy with this place but they were off their game today. We were seated pretty quick. Our water and our chips came out pretty quick but it took 30 minutes before the food came out. I know it's not fast food but it was a very long wait and what made it worse is the waiter never refilled our waters or came to the table and asked if we needed anything. We almost got up and left. The food finally comes out and the chicken fried steak was not huge like I expected, the waiter even told me it needed its own plate but it wasn't like the chicken fried steak from down the road at Rutilios. The plate was small. The green chile had no heat and btw the salsa was excellent and much hotter than the chile. The red chile had good flavor but it wasn't hot at all. The beans were cold in the middle of one of our plates and the waiter still didn't refill our drinks. Idk I liked this place but it'll be awhile before I come back because the service and the food is much better down the road. I think it's the service most of all that ruined it for us. read more

Came in on a Friday for dinner. Been looking for a place in Los Lunas and Peralta area. This place hit the spot. Had the steak and enchilada, pozole and carne adovada stuffed sopapilla. They were all good. Staff are friendly and checked on us made sure our drinks were filled. I give this place 15 out of 10. Will be coming back. read more

This time we ordered knowing we'd have take home leftovers. I ordered the Mexican Turnover Combination with beef. This is a pastry crust folded over a combination of ground beef, rice and beans. I ordered the red chile with this. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas with green chile, rice and beans. This came with a lot of chopped green chile, not a sauce. Overall it was ok, but the beans and chopped chile put down so much liquid it rapidly became a soggy texture less mess. My turnover was tasty and the red chile also ok but not up to the rave reviews I've heard. At this time, I'd rate it the third best red I've had in NM. (See my review for La Cocina in Espanola for my pick for best Red chile in NM- so far anyway ) Overall, I'm glad we finally got the opportunity to dine at this local institution. When we do give it another try, I'm going to follow the recommendation for chicarones and pork adovado. Actual rating 3.5 stars.

My husband thought he ordered the enchilada plate, but the chile relleno plate came out instead. He told them that was fine. The ground beef taco was so delicious. The chile relleno was pretty good, and the cheese enchiladas were okay, even though it was like they were barely there. The pinto beans, not refried beans, were also enjoyed. What really set them apart was their papas - those potatoes were soft and super flavorful. Their red sauce was spicy and flavorful. The server brought out two fresh and hot sopapillas. We poured honey on those things bite by bite. I honestly think those were the best sopapillas I've had. I also used the restroom before we left. It might need a little updating, but it was certainly clean.

The best restaurant in Valencia County! We always take friends and family to Sopa's if they have not been there. The owners and staff are very hospitable and care about their customers. Service is great and the food is to die for! My favorite is the Huevos Rancheros and the Breakfast Burrito. If you find yourself in Bosque Farms you must stop by this wonderful restaurant.
