Very overpriced for the quality and amount of food you receive. We ordered shrimp tacos that came with coleslaw, a bleu cheese burger, and a chocolate cake. The tacos came with very little shrimp, there was more mango salsa than shrimp, and the coleslaw really lacked in flavor. The cake was okay, they at least give you a pretty sizeable piece for the 6 dollars they charge, but not what I expected for that price. Perhaps their dine in experience is different but this experience using ubereats with them left me not wanting to bother trying. read more

I have been to Rulis more than a handful of times and I can tell you that it's definitely worth a trip! The new and improved merged locale has a wood burning oven that is the costar of the RIK show. Every single thing I've tried here is delicious. My favorites are the pesto fries, the mexican sliders and their side veggies. What? Am I really recommending a nondescript side of vegetables! YES! They're always seasoned to perfection and they're cooked well, but still crisp and fresh. LOVE! This is also a great place if you have vegetarian friends in your party. It's not a vegetarian restaurant per-se, but it's certainly extremely accommodating to people's dietary restrictions. The highlight of the Rulis experience happened on our last visit. They had Avery Brewing Company (Boulder, CO) beers in their selection!!!!! Avery brews are TOP OF THE LINE and I strongly recommend you try one ASAP. read more

I was really looking forward to this place. I was told the folks who owned Ruli's started this place up and I had liked the food at Ruli's and so off I went to this place. On both the trips the service was atrocious ....there seemed to be just one waiter to serve the entire place which was the size of a Burger King (wait! It was a Burger King many many moons ago). So he swings by, asked about drinks, came back 15 minutes later with drinks, we asked for a few minutes to look at the menu...and apparently few=15 ...but we finally flagged the waiter down and ordered the house made chips with special sauce, a few beers and asked for a few minutes for entrees. the house made chips turned out to be run of the mill kettle chips with what tasted suspiciously like Cholula sprinkled all over them. I guess warming old chips up and possibly adding more garlic to cholula made it all "house made". I ordered the beer can chicken, my dining companions ordered a pizza and a salad. The entrees took a reasonable time of about 25 minutes to show up (its reasonable because it should take about that much time for a half chicken to roast and rest). The chicken had nice crispy skin, but alas had pretty much nothing else going for it. The so called torreado sauce again was again just chopped torreados but really added to the dish by making it flavorful. The salad was pretty good and fresh, but was overdressed to the point of weighing down the greens. The pizza was quite over charred and pointing this out to the waiter entailed a "sorry you don't like pizza well done" rather than an attempt to fix this. Extremely disappointing trip...and not only once, but twice. All in all an avoid at all cost. A pity, since they have all the opportunity to be really good at what they do. read more

A great local restaurant with a great selection of Mexican inspired dishes along with various other selections to include pasta, pizza, and sandwiches. We had the carnitas tacos and some pizza. The tacos are served in threes and were very flavorful and great. Some of the best carnitas I have had in El Paso. The teriyaki chicken pizza is from a wood fired oven and was a great combination of flavors. We will definitely be back to try more off their great menu! Yay Ruli's! Ruli's is awesome. I love their personal pizzas, and I always create my own. They have a great menu with good selections. I appreciate that they do have some vegan/vegetarian options. One of the most relaxing, casual and delicious kitchens I've been to. An excellent selection of beers, a knowledgeable staff and varied yet uncomplicated menu ads up to a great introduction. Alot of thought is put into each dish. I'd recommend the smoked salmon sandwich. And the sweet potato waffle fries were done to perfection. Their take on calamari is out of this world. Not breaded. Came in for dinner with my girlfriend. There are only two other parties in the restaurant. 7 people total. There is one waitress serving but it is not overwhelming. We are given water and then not seen for 10 minutes. We try to get the waitress' attention by eye contact. Nothing. My girlfriend raises her hand to get the waitress' attention. The waitress sees it. Nothing. The waitress walks by out table. My girlfriend and I both say excuse me to get her attention. Nothing. Finally we just get the attention of the hostess who comes to our table to take the order. Food is good. Service is horrible. read more

I stopped in here on a long road trip from Texas to Arizona. It seems like the majority of the food options in El Paso are Bar/Restaurants and they have some great ones. I would include Rulis in that category for sure. When you walk in there is a chalkboard on the right with some specials and beer listings. The seating area is pretty basic and can fill up fast. We arrived on a Sunday night so it was no doubt slower than most nights. Service was awesome and both people attending our table had great attitudes, kept drinks topped and answered all the questions about the food we had. Highlights on the menu were the pulled pork sliders and Nola Pizza. In fact there are too many great food options outside of the pizza here to label it a "pizza place." If I lived nearby it would be a go to place to get some tapas, have some beer and watch the game. read more

It is one of the best eateries in El Paso. The selection of cuisines have mamy tantalizing ingredients that leaves one salivating, even halfway through the meal. It is also one of the few places that provide wood fired pizza. And they excel in that by making wonderful pies with the same aspiration that drives to make the other offerings. Today stopped in for lunch. Service was good as usual. Friendly and fast, also never had to ask for a tea refill which was nice. The teriyaki wings were good appetizer which come with ranch and celery.Then I had the haydee sliders which were a cold chicken sandwich with grapes,apples,avocado and few other things along with some sweet potato fries. Just had an awesome pizza experience at Unrulis!! This place is new, only open for about two weeks but I see great things for them. To start off, the service we received today was exceptional. Our server met us at the door and walked us to our seats. We got our menus and I was very happy to see so many new and different pizza selections. They have salads, chicken and sandwiches along with pizza. Each pizza is ten inches, so we each got our own. Some of the offerings were a green curry pizza, a sweet chicken pizza, spinach pizza, porky pizza and make your own pizzas. I got the spinach pizza. It had spinach, walnuts, sliced pears, goat cheese and a balsamic glaze. The crust was thin and a bit crunchy and chewy, just the way I love it. The balsamic glaze and pears gave it a hint of sweetness, it was absolutely delicious. My son had the porky pizza, that one had pepperoni, sausage and ham. Loved it!! Their brick oven gives it a nice smoky charred flavor. Nothing beats a brick oven pizza. Our server told us they will be having a large selection of beers on tap as well as bottled. I am definitely coming back to Unrulis for more. I'm giving it five stars, as I was super impressed by Unrulis. read more

This is the place to go to when everyone is craving something entirely different. We had an 18 person party, and our waitress was extremely patient with us. (I completely forget her name, but she was the only girl working on 10/15/16 at 9:00 PM, and knew literally everything about every alcohol and dish.) Our food arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered it too. Everything was exquisite! The vibe is also really unique. Easily one of the best restaurants in El Paso, hands down! I'm from Houston and this is one of the restaurants I look forward to coming to when I visit El Paso. I've only been here for dinner. Among my favorites are chicken with calabaza, creamy poblano soup, pear and prosciutto, pesto pasta with chicken... among others. The ambience might be a little informal for some people, and to be honest I think the food they serve deserves a nicer venue, since it seems to be an old Pizza Hut turned into a restaurant with extravagant and romantic food! The concept is good but the chef is stingy. Since when has a $10 pizza become an Hors s' douvre. They say the pizza is 10" and it fits inside a 10" box so..... The crust measured 1 and 1/2" all the perimeter when I got it home and therefore the pizza was actually with about 6" diameter of toppings. The crust had no crisp to it at all. I have eaten pizza all over the world and lived in Italy many years. What is this El Paso trend toward soft pizza with few toppings. This place will not go if the pizza attitude doesn't change. I cannot say more good things about Rulis. You will not be disappointed. I have followed them from downtowns location and have been satisfied consistently. The food is fresh, light, California type of cuisine. Chef Ruli puts some thought to his dishes with the pairings he choses within his dishes and the taste it produces. The prices are suited well for the quality. It has also been consistent. My favorites are a lot on the menu but the cabo salad, pesto chicken pasta, and his once in a while tapas specials or other specials is worth a try!! Good selection of beer and wine. A pretty outstanding place. I was actually looking for another restaurant nearby without an luck, so I saw this place and figured I'd give it a try. I like that they have such a broad range of cuisines, but what I liked more is that they made a fusion of a lot of these cuisines. I ended up having the Chiles en Nogada pizza after the waitress recommended it over the Mexican pizza (also a popular menu item). The chiles en Nogada is not a normal menu item, but rather a seasonal item that they came up with and decided to put it on pizza. I love trying unique foods that "break the rules", so this was a perfect sweet and savory pizza for that. They had a very broad range of beers on tap and in bottles, as well as a decent wine selection for those that prefer that. The wait staff was attentive and polite too. While the overall atmosphere isn't anything too impressive, I did like the open kitchen with a view of the open brick oven. If I'm looking for comfort food, this is probably not the place, but when I'm looking to try something unique, delicious, and well prepared, I'll definitely be back. read more
