definitely the best donuts in san clemente. donuts are huge and they aren't greedy with the icing.

Today I had a bad experience with this donut shop... today I wanted to try a strawberry boba drink, and also some other co-workers.. we order one milk tea and two strawberry bananas... she gave us all 3 milt teas, the girl felt terrible for them because they misunderstood that she didn't say anything... one of my co-workers was like well it is what it is and he try to drink it and didn't like it... I on the other hand I try it but I just couldn't drink it as well went back to the donut shop and and polite explains the situation... They refuse to make my strawberry banana boba drink and keep repeating she order 3 milt teas... I didn't argue just threw away my drink into the trash and walk out... and their for I'm writing this review on yelp because it is not the first time they have done something like this to my order... this will be my last time I order from them... read more

I have come here since I was in high school and the people who used to work here were so sweet and nice. I went in today to get a donut and a large coffee. The guy who served me was very rude and threw the bag with the donut down. He threw it down on the counter were there were ANTS! I HATE ants!!! Then when I went to pay I only had my debit card. Showed up at 9am on Sunday Fathers Day and they only had one tray of donuts and none of the type anyone wanted.

The service here is HORRIFIC. Im doing my best to support small business lately so decided on this place. Came here this morning for a breakfast sandwich, when I walked in there was a man sweeping, I had made it 3 steps in and was not acknowledged so I was worried they were closed. When he finally got behind the counter he goes "what do you want" - at that point I was already put off but decided to still order since I was already here. Another girl who worked there put a sandwich (which I assumed was mine) down on the counter and as I went to reach for it she very rudely said "that's not yours" (my mistake right considering I'm the only one in here) anyway, when my sandwich was finally made I was so fed up that I just grabbed my sandwich and left, not a word out of the man. Not a single thank you or have a nice day. You should be embarrassed as business owners that this is the way you treat people in your community. My assumption is that the two people working were the business owners. I will never ever go here again and will be telling all my friends about my experience. Go to surfin donuts instead. I've been coming here for years since we live in South County... Very disappointed now! I'm not sure if it's the change of ownership or the change in attitude towards providing any kind of a meaningful , it's only Donuts period a couple of weeks ago I was in nice young girl waited on me look like a Beachside local and there was actually stuff in the display case the three times I've been in since its the same stale Donuts from who-knows-where muffins that clearly look like they come from Costco and it seems like they're big pushes to have a smoothie. I usually give places a second chance especially when service is kind of crappy. SC Donuts has completely changed in the last 2 years. The first mistake they made was charging me $80 for an $8 purchase couple of months ago. At the time when I went back in to let them know that they overcharged me they gave me major attitude and told me that it was my fault that I should have noticed when I was there in the first place. After about 10 minutes of going back and forth to try to get my money back they finally acquiesced and redid the entire purchase and refunded me the $80. This morning I decided to go in and get donuts for my family, while there I told the gentleman behind the counter that I wanted donut holes and began to point out all the different Donuts that I wanted. Not only was he very rude to me as I was pointing out different Donuts that I wanted, when I went to pay I paid with a credit card and told him that I would like a receipt. When he walked away and did not give me the receipt I asked him could I get a receipt please. He completely ignored me and went on about his business with other customers while the other person behind the counter began to ring somebody else up at the same time. So I asked for a receipt from her, she proceeded to tell me that the card reader does not print out receipts and emails the receipts to the individual and that if I want a paper receipt I'll have to wait to have it run up on the register. The guy came back very annoyed grab my Donuts walked away place them on the counter and began to ring the donuts up again printed out the receipt handed me the receipt and said next time ask me for a receipt when I'm checking you out. This place used to be very friendly have wonderful service and treated customers with respect. I don't know if they're Under New Management but I don't see the people that used to work there anymore and they seem to be really rude to everyone. I will not be going to SC Donuts anymore and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

This place is amazing! They have the biggest donuts I have ever seen AND they taste amazing. Their buttermilk donut is such a guilty pleasure. Their croissant with ham and cheese is decadent and also huge but they can sell out so go early! It's also a great place to get a good cup of coffee without paying an arm and a leg for it. This rating is for the Thai Iced Tea with Boba. Was excited to get myself a treat before work this morning... So disappointed with what I received for my $4.25. Tasted like 80% water, 15% milk, 5% tea. SUPER diluted. The boba was OK, except some spheres were more hard than chewy. (Yesterday's boba?) Also, the measly amount of ice in the drink melted before I even got to work, possibly diluting the beverage even more than it was to begin with. Anyone else like lukewarm iced drinks? Finally, the lady who presumably was the owner, instructed from across the room, "Only half scoop, okay?" I suggest if you are going to be chintzy, at least go over to the employee and say it under your breath so that the customer doesn't hear. Probably won't be back to try the donuts. This is by FAR the best donut shop I've ever run across. Every time I have family in from out of town, it's their number one request to eat here, every day, for breakfast. Even my co-workers request that I bring in donuts from this amazing little shop if we are ever having donuts in the office. Their donuts are always HUGE, fresh, and they never scrimp on the filling OR the frosting. The staff working at the shop are super friendly and seem to know most of their customers by name. The ONLY downfall is that they are closed on Sundays. Which is only a downfall since I'd love to eat there every Saturday and Sunday....but my waistline thanks them for taking a day off :) hehe. read more

Donuts are one of my favorite treats I have tried every new and old shop. Lately, I went to San Francisco for Dynamo donuts and Donut Friend in LA. I rate them starting by the simplest glazed. While the flavors at SC aren't the trendiest, they are unbeatable so far. They are the lightest and freshest. Also, the owner and his wife are charming. read more

We actually came from Ladera/San Juan area to check out SC donuts and were not disappointed. Amazing, huge, fresh donuts which pretty much made my son's day. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Last time I went was over 6 months ago but never left a review until now. I walk in around 10 am and I'm the only one in there. I wait for the woman to turn around to help me for quite a while until I finally just say hi and just get an angry look back. I just wanted a strawberry boba so I order and wait (still the only customer) and after almost 10 minutes She sets a mango boba on the counter and I just look at it and say oh sorry I wanted strawberry. She raises her voice and says I said mango. I work in food service and I understand that people may say the wrong thing or maybe I just miss heard them but either way it should be an easy thing to fix without any trouble. I go back and wait for at least another 15 minutes as they just go back to "work". Waiting there I kept getting bad looks and could clearly tell they were both talking sh*t on me because they were both arguing and pointing right at me making me very uncomfortable. when I finally get tired of waiting and get up to ask about my order I notice my strawberry boba just sitting in the corner next to the register for who knows how long in a spot where I would never have seen it. Very childish to have me waste 30 minutes of my time over such a small inconvenience and is just unacceptable customer service. No wonder I was the only customer the entire time I was there. We live in Colorado and, for the last 5/6 years, we always stop here when we're in the area for a surfing vacation. Everything is delicious here. My husband loves the doughnuts, and we both love their breakfast sandwiches (no 5 w/o the cheese) and their fresh coffee. Their very friendly too. I always take my kids here during happy hour on Friday afternoons!! Sometimes the donuts are almost completely gone, but that's understandable, and we are more than happy to settle with a few boba drinks and whatever they have left!
