The BEST black forest cake I've ever tasted! Bought one for my friend's birthday. The cake has a dark chocolate flavor, and the filling has lots of cherry pieces in it. Frosting is made with whipped cream so it doesn't taste sweet at all. Overall, the cake was very delicious but not overloaded with sweet taste. Everyone in my party agreed! This grocery store was in walking distance of our rental while we were in San Clemente for the week and I stopped in to get something for dinner. It is a very small place that has a lot of Mexican type items, but also a relatively large fresh meat selection. I picked up some marinated pork and chicken (at a very reasonable price!), and some guacamole ingredients (cilantro, jalapenos, limes, tomatoes) to go with some avocados I already had. The marinated pork and chicken (especially the chicken) made our taco dinner the best! If I lived in the area, I would be stopping in often for the marinated meat! read more

I just can't believe the girl who was working the register today around 4 pm., don't post any signage on your door or around the store telling people no mask no service, when the girl at the register wasn't wearing one, , and when I ask why aren't you wearing a mask she just said because I don't like and care about it, she might think she is young and nothing is gonna happen to her which doesn't surprise me!, but when you work on customer service is the state mandate, I hope for real the state and the county start cracking up on business who doesn't follow the rules, I believe a lots of us we don't like to wear the mask, but we are no selfish cause you have to care about your customers and lead with the example if you are posting signs around your store!! read more

I went there on the advice of a friend and got dirty looks at every nook and cranny of the store - I guess because I'm not Spanish speaking. The cashier made my daughter and I wait almost 5 minutes to ring up a simple order while she laughed with the Spanish-speaking teens about a money transfer at the other register, then didn't offer to bag, didn't say thank you and sneered at us. Stopped by, for the first time, on 8/30/2022. Had the 3 enchiladas platillo, to go, for about 13.00 which is no small change. Lousy, lousy food! This market is pretty much a hidden gem. Fresh cheap produce! Their prices can't be beat and great selection of pre marinated meats.

Do not go here! They have worst customer service! I went there for the first time ever and had a terrible experience. The cashiers are very rude and disrespectful! I went to but sweet bread because I was told it was delicious. I was the first person in line waiting for the cashier to come help me by the ice cream. After standing there for about 5-7 minutes she tell me to go to the other side were the food is. After standing there another 7 minutes the cashier started to take the order for the people behind me. I told hey I was here first. She said you can't purchase bread on this side but it's okay I'll help you. I then told her the other cashier had told me to come to this line and why she said that if now she's telling me it's the other lines. She then goes to tell me "solo esta comprando pan ustede necesita que esperar" which means you are only buying bread you need to wait. As if my money was less then everyone else in the room. It was then when I noticed that I was the only Mexican in the room all the other people were Caucasian and that was probably why they helped them first! I was so upset I never thought I would receive this treatment from my own people. So then i called after I left and requested to speak with a supervisor and they told me he was not coming in for another two hours. So then I called two hours later and they told me he was not coming in today he will be in tomorrow morning. I called today I'm the morning and they placed me hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me he was not in yet and would not be in for another two hours, I asked why just placed me on hold and told me he was there and she said do you want to call back or not. It was then when I realized I was not going to get transferred to him so now I am here leaving this review. read more

I was parked in their parking lot waiting for the owner of the property to open a sale and they tried to tow me. I was legally parked with a handicap placard clearly hanging. DO NOT go there ~ I really think they have a "deal" going with S & R towing. I had to call the police and sit on the hood of my car before my car was released from the flatbed. I was out of my car less than 15 minutes and on the property less than an hour (with me in the car ~ I went into the market and asked when the owner would arrive). So they knew I was there. Not sure if it is because I am caucasian or not. But avoid like the plague! And the market had a "ripe" smell. Would never buy anything in there even before the towing incident. Best pollo marinado and prices around! Everybody here has been pretty amiable to a gringo too. From LA to SD, this is definitely my preferred carniceria in SoCal and everyone I've shared the goods with agrees. Delicious jalapenos, serranos and other peppers perfect for cooking with that succulent grilled chickie. Fresh limes, guacamole and the shrimp was good too.
