It's a lovely spa too, and not just massage. I met my masseuse, who was very welcoming. We talked about my chronic health issues and how to approach things, and what areas to prioritize. Her massage skills were great. Firm pressure, dug in when needed, loosened up impossibly tight areas, and helped get things moving in my body. I felt like new afterwards and will be scheduling again in a couple of weeks. I can't wait. I will say the massage was more expensive than most other spas, and to get the price down a bit, a membership is required, which I'm not thrilled about. I hate subscriptions, so I'll probably pay more for my freedom from a subscription and because my massage therapist is worth it.

Not only did he take the time to focus on the knots, I really appreciated that he recommended the areas I should stretch at home. After the massage, I met Emily for our 50 min custom facial, which alalso felt too short. My skin felt amazing and hydrated after our session was over. She also recommended what products I should use to make sure my addressed problems stay minimal. She also provided massages after she put on a face mask for me, which I appreciated! Both beds that I was on were heated, so those felt incredible. It was my first time here, so I had to complete a few paperwork before I met my masseuse and esthetician. It was very straightforward. The front desk lady was also really nice. At the end, I was super relaxed and wanted to sleep there!

Newly to Boise, I googled best salons in the area. I tried a different one nearby, was a cute place…read morebut the stylist did not listen to my very specific style and request. When booking with Graeber they have a very intensive online "questionnaire" to determine what stylist would be best suited for your needs. I was paired with Raul. He listened to me, viewed all of my photos and gave me feedback on my style and photos and we were in agreement on the best path forward. The receptionist also was very welcoming, offered me coffee and gave me a tour. They carry Oribe and Aveda products which I use so that also is great. In addition to cuts/styles they have extensive skin care routines/facials. The services and products are not inexpensive but if you know what you want this is where you can get it. There was a glitch with their online booking system in which it made it appear that no openings were available, thankfully they reached out by phone and I was able to get in. I explained about the issue booking and they said they would address that, so if you don't find a slot online I suggest you call. Also I found easy on street parking so that was definitely a plus. I'd post pictures of my cut but I take terrible selfies, but everyone at work has commented how nice it looks. Thank you, I'll be back.

If you're looking for an experienced and talented stylist working in a well managed and welcoming…read moresalon then here you go! Jen McKeithen is that stylist and she recently joined The Studio Salon in Eagle. THE STYLIST: Jen arrives from Salt Lake City where she had fifteen years of experience as stylist at an Aveda salon - with all the great training Aveda provides. I imagine Jen's former clients in Salt Lake must really be missing her - and their Facebook posts say that is true - because Jen just cut and colored my hair for the first time and both services were simply top notch. My hair is fine - and I have found that unlike fine wine, fine hair does not improve with age - and challenging to cut. I have tried a number of different stylists in the six years I've lived in the Boise area and Jen provided not only the best cut to fit my hair that I've had here but among the best cuts I've had in a dozen years. (And I say that from the perch that my long term stylist in my previous city was crackerjack good.) Jen's advice on color was expert too - and yes hiding gray is part of my needs and wants list at this age - and I'm equally as delighted with that part of her work to improve on what was not looking good previous color work done elsewhere. I'm thinking Jen could work with anyone's hair to do just about anything they needed done. And to make this even better, this talented young woman has a delightful personality so spending some time in her chair is fun for that reason too. I walked in feeling bedraggled and sad. I walked out feeling like a 'zippety-doo-dah' new and happy woman. Because Jen is relatively new to the area, she is accepting new clients. Lucky all of us who find her now! CONTACT INFO: You can reach Jen directly at this number: 801-403-3834. Or through The Studio Salon at 208-938-0302. THE SALON: Warm and welcoming for men and women of all ages - children too - done in an understated, casual-chic, black and white interior styling, the bright and clean space is well managed by owner Emmy Woodke who is also a stylist and so often on premises. And it may be that the only person who wants the client to be happy as much as the stylists doing their work at The Studio is Emmy who is takes to heart her business. This is an completely unintimidating environment for we...ummm...well...more well aged clients who still want to be treated as if we matter for wanting to look our best...and also I'd think it is as welcoming to the young'un set who want the latest in techniques and quality products used. LOCATION: At the intersection of Eagle and Chinden - look for the now for lease former Walgreens pharmacy on the corner as identifier - in the little strip mall that is also home to The Nest interiors. PARKING: Lots of it in private lot. Some accessible (aka ADA) parking. ACCESSIBILITY: Level in the door of the salon and all on one floor. More than ample clear floor space for path of travel from stylist's chairs to shampoo area. Accessible loo too. One would assume 30 years into the ADA being law all salons would do as good a job of getting it right as does Studio. But, alas, as woman with mobility limits from having MS since I was 20 (ye gads...a long time) I can sadly report few salons get it right as Studio does. Good for Emmy!
