This restaurant recently moved. It moved from an older location into a newer beautiful location the ambience is very nice and it has a nice parking lot to cater to overwhelming amount of guests which is usually a good thing. However the food tastes Frozen this time around I don't know what happened last time I dined here which was a while ago it was five stars. The wait staff was very nice and friendly the pricing definitely wasn't bad. The salad was definitely good the entrees were not bad but the desserts you could definitely tell are frozen desserts. read more

An old favorite, but we left without entry, and will not be back til sometime in 2021. We arrived having thought we made a 7:30 dinner reservation; however we now have the impression the reservation was a more general "arrive after 7:30". Parking lot jammed, absolutely no social distancing at the entry (both inside and on the sidewalk) where there is a log-jam with some rude diners without masks, pushing through rather than waiting for restaurant staff to appear at the door to manage access and seat people. Based on other reviews, it appears (based on the dirt lot in overflow) that there's no way there could be social distancing being carried out inside. This restaurant, and others in Vero not requiring masks or social distancing, are an excellent example of why a mask mandate to gain entry would lessen risk overall, and increase traffic rather than discourage it. We were not the only people that walked away bc Scampi refuses to take preventative action and manage access at the entry door and indoor waiting area. read more

Celebrated a birthday with wonderful meals here. Shina was our server and did a great job of explaining specials, answering questions, providing excellent customer service. We were there last evening and we're seated at a booth that was moderately comfortable. The table was too far away from the booths. The service was extremely good. Our waiter John Paul did a great job. The food itself was very disappointing. Our appetizer was so rich. The salad had too much balsamic vinegar in it that it was barely edible. Our entries were so rich in butter and sauce that we could eat only about a third of the serving. My wife had the shrimp scampi, I had the pasta bolognese. Would not go back. We were here in May and it was all very good. Do not know what happened in the meantime. We both experienced very discomforting acid reflux because of the meal. Tell the chef that you do not have to load up on butter and sauce to make something tasty. read more

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Three of us had dinner there, were served perfectly and cheerfully. My bruschetta appetizer "Mozarella Caprese" was exactly right, with generous proportions and Shrimp-Scallop "Imperial" came with a complex cream sauce over angel hair pasta. My wife enjoyed her spinach salad, and her entree, "Veal Cranchio," was much loved and I am looking forward to eating her leftovers today! Our companion enjoyed his veal with tomato sauce. Upon arriving, we almost decided to go elsewhere. The restaurant is in a more urban area in a no frills building and it has no windows. The entrance is around back in the alley. We had a very attentive server. He obviously has been waiting tables for quite a few years and knew how to take care of his customers. Once complaint is when we ordered only water, he seemed a bit disappointed (that we weren't going to run up the bill with alcohol) and we could tell. Other than that, all was well. I had their seafood soup to start off and it was like a minestrone soup with seafood--a huge bowl too. Their Grouper Calabria, which actually tasted much better than it looked, was a very good sized portion. It was served with pasta and there was an endless supply of toasted bread with olive oil. Been trying to go to Mimmos's for over a year and always seemed to keep going back to the same places. Last night I was determined and boy did I miss a year of great food. Place was pretty empty when I got there, but filled up quickly after I seated. The bar area is very small and think the bartender wasn't sure what to do with herself as I sat there. Overall I enjoyed the salad and really liked the bread they served. I wish their menu was a little bigger, but was happy with my choice of the shrimp scampi. It was a pretty large portion and I wasn't able to finish it. Wish I had taken a picture because the presentation was spot on. read more

If you ever visited Mimmo's in its original location, this new location will disappoint you. Gone is the warm, Italian charm of the old place and hello to looking like every other trendy place around. Food was ok, not as good as the original either. And really, what restaurant , one doesn't have a full bar in FL, and what waiter DOWN sells on a bottle of wine? He was an awesome waiter, and did well with a table of women, he was in fact this experiences saving grace. You know how there are certain items you crave from certain restaurants? I used to crave this place , but not any more. Huge bummer, will go to Pomodoro from now on, I still crave their garlic knots and penne with shrimp and goat cheese. My father and I who just moved to Florida not even seven days ago both walked in to get a table and were smirked at after stating we didn't have a stupid reservation. It was my last night here with my dad before I go back up north and not only were we seated outside on the cold patio but the waiter had the f-ing nerve to take a different party's order right in front of us after wait TEN MINIUTES. What a horrible disappointment of customer DIS service, my father will never go back there until the day he dies. FOOD ALLERGIES STAY AWAY!! This is the worst restaurant ever!! They don't know anything about food allergies, sent my son to the hospital with anaphylactic shock after serving him a cross contaminated dish!! We specifically told the TWO WAITERS that he's allergic to pinenuts n pistachios which were all over the menu! After Max n I left to the hospital, they told my husband that there's no way Max was really having a reaction (pretty accusatory) because they don't use peanut oil in their kitchen!!! When my husband repeated it was PINENUTS & PISTACHIOS the owners eyes grew 10 sizes!! Never did he come out to check on my son that was being taken on an ambulance, nor did seem empathetic to what was going on. Not one staff member came out to the parking lot to provide my son or I any comfort, but the VB police, fire dept and paramedics were absolutely the nicest people ever!! Rude owner, careless uneducated staff, and to be honest the food wasn't worth 1/4 of the price! read more

Great place to dine. Food and service is excellent. All four of us had veal dishes at $22 and all were very very happy with the quality of the meal. We asked that it be served over angel hair pasta and they were happy to do it. The service was excellent as was the house wine for the price. Disappointed in the service, noise level, and temperature of the restaurant (very cold). I had been wanting to go there since it opened and my husband took me there for my birthday along with several friends. Could hardly get around as the tables are so close together. The service was very good but...that's not why we like to eat out is it?. We dine out in order to experience food that we wouldn't make at home, either because of the scarcity of ingredients or it would take too much time to make for ourselves. So let's get to it. The quality of the food at the Scampi Grill was horrendous. Ordered the appetizer of calamari (I specifically asked for the red sauce to be on the side so I could control the ratio of calamari to sauce.) NOPE. The calamari came sauced, overly sauced. And the calamari turned out to be hard and chewy. Hmm...perhaps that's a new way of preparing this dish. My dad (his 80th birthday dinner btw) ordered the Veal Picatta with penne. I had the Shrimp and Veal ala Scampi. Truly a shame what they did to the veal. It was overcooked and hard, had a strange granular texture, and no flavor. The angel hair pasta on the side was mushy. Truly a shame. I ate the three shrimp, took one bite of the veal, and left the rest of the meal untouched. When the waitress came back to the table and asked how the meal was, I replied with an abrupt, "okay." When she came back a second time, I asked her to take it away. She asked me if I wanted a to-go box. Certainly not, I thought. If I'm not going to eat your food while it's hot and fresh at the restaurant I'm certainly not going to warm it up at home. She definitely knew something was wrong with our meals but didn't bother to ask and rightly so. HORRIBLE! worst Resturant I have been to in years. We sat down at 6:40 and was not talked to until 7:20. Then we waited two hours for our food, our food was bad and not good. It's also overpriced for everything. The manager never even came or apologized. then since it took so long they apologized by giving us two gross deserts for 6 people. I should have walked out, so not worth it. Also don't call it scampi grill call it scummy grill. The food was a b- tops. Don't go there u might never leave since the service is so slow. What a great place! My family owns an Italian restaurant in Georgia and this place gives me that homey feeling. I eat out alone a lot and from the second I walked in they made me feel welcome. I started with the Rhode Island clams which were delicious. I had just moved from Rhode Island so I was little skeptical to get them in Florida but they were fresh and the sauce was to die for. I also had the chicken limon which was again delicious. A little heavy but amazing. And to end the meal my server suggested a dessert that is a local favorite. It was a pastry filled with hazelnut chocolate and dipped in a raspberry sauce.... it was amazing! I was stuffed but I had to finish it all. My only suggestion would be to try to lengthen the wine by the glass list. I usually eat alone and as much as I would love to enjoy a nice bottle of wine I also prefer to be able to drive home. This is my favorite restaurant in Vero Beach. The owner, all the servers, bussers, even the servers in training were all fantastic. They treated me like I had been coming there my whole life.
