Greeted warmly by the host & hostess as we entered. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary with some friends. We admired the beautifully decorated room with ornaments and lights as we headed to our table. Our first time here so we perused the drink & food menu's. Being a steakhouse we knew it was going to be a steak, but which one. Kora checked in with us and I started with a margarita, my wife got her normal a beer. Once everyone arrived we started with 2 shrimp cocktails. And these bad boys were huge! Good cocktail sauce too, not too heavy on the horseradish. Our 5th time here. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed. I ordered the prime strip steak with asparagus as my side. The hubs had prime rib eye with Brussel sprouts. It was the first time EVER I sent a steak back. I ordered medium. I've ordered medium 100 x . It was rare. The waitress told me in the future I should order medium plus. I have never heard of that in my life. She took it back without a problem. It came back right. For apps we ordered salt & pepper calamari & a special for the night of cheeseburger soup. The calamari was perfect. Crispy, tender beautiful! The soup was good, but not great. It was flavorful , but not what I would expect from a place like this. This leads me to the deserts. I had grandma's chocolate cake. It tasted like the cake from a supermarket. It was dry with super thick fudge type frosting. Hubs had a crème brûlée filled donut. It was sickening sweet & served super hot. So hot the crème in side was soupy. The waitress was super nice so that helped. The deco is really nice as well. Little lights on the ceiling, the booths , not on the platform type area, are very cozy. Although I was really disappointed, we will go back as sometimes it's just a bad night. read more

Vero Prime is in the "downtown" area of Vero Beach and easy to find. We made reservations, but didn't need to (plenty of open tables). The restaurant is pretty dim on the inside due to low-lighting combined with a dark color scheme. The staff was very friendly, and our server was fantastic; knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered the short rib "lasagna", but wasn't what I was expecting from a lasagna perspective. It could just be me, but I think of a traditional multi-layer stack. It wasn't bad though. My lady ordered the filet and it was cooked as ordered. The menu selection was a bit odd in that there were three different entree menus. I'm not sure if that's normal there or not. In any event, we didn't have a bad experience, my expectations are just very high any time there is a similar price point and the word prime is in the name. read more

This was my first time dining here and it was during a business presentation in a private area of the restaurant. The staff were helpful , we had a preselected portion of the menu to chose a filet, fish and or lasagne including salad and bread pudding dessert with vanilla ice cream . The starter bread and seasoned oils to dip the bread was delicious. The grilled veggies that came with the filet were delicious and full of garlic season like i love! The bread pudding and ice cream was very tasty also! I would give it 5 stars however the bathroom that was right next to our room had the most awful sewage/ rotten eggs smell sneaking outside the area to our room and when you used the bathroom it was almost unbearable to be in and then to maintain your appetite after was quite challenging ...I found that for me too disturbing to think of spending that much money for a nice meal to be not enjoyable due to the smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom ..the staff told me it's common there especially after rain...It has an amazing bar and dining area in the back also..I would like to return to try it again but not sure with the bathroom smells that I would...sorry Vero Prime read more

My husband and I went there for the first time last night and were very disappointed. We heard that the steak there was excellent so instead of going to our favorite restaurant so we tried it. Best steakhouse in Vero Beach, period! Treat yourself to a nice medium-rare rib steak and you'll be one happy diner! Also the French fries are wonderful as are the desserts. Service is also very good. As far as the cost is concerned if you're in Vero Beach you're probably on vacation so to hell with the price (which frankly isn't unreasonable) and just eat and enjoy, you'll only live once, make it count. Vero Prime is a good restaurant with good food and service. The steaks were cooked to temperature and were flavorful. The sides were good but were served in a very small portion for the price charged. The wedge salad was also good but the wedge was about an eighth of a small head of lettuce. The decor is dated. Overall, ratio between what was served and what was charged was skewed. It's worth a try but after you have gone to the others that you've been curious about. read more

We went to Vero Prime! You must go! Run, don't walk! You must try it! The food, the atmosphere, and the impeccable, friendly service! Last evening, we wanted to get a nice dinner for our son's fiancé and her sister- take out. Their mom is in the ICU for the past week at Cleveland clinic in Vero. My husband and I went to Vero Prime to order takeout dinners for both girls... they wanted steak!!! We sat at the bar- the bartenders were very friendly. The dinners arrived. The bartenders knew we were going to the hospital to rescue our future daughter-in-law and her sister from a week of hospital food! They gave us plasticware and napkins to take to the hospital. Then the bartender realized they would not be able to cut the steak with a plastic knife. Ryan and Mark, our bartenders, graciously loaned us two steak knives to take to the Hospital and for us to return the knives back to them. They trusted us. The girls loved their dinner!!!! They were smiling and had a moment of joy. They each got the ribeye steak one had their ribeye medium rare, and the other medium and they were both cooked to perfection over that wood fire at Vero Prime! Their sides, were Asparagus and Parmesan crusted brussels sprouts and the presentation was just beautifully enticing and cooked perfectly! They also packaged the sliced homemade bread with the dipping oil. They were ecstatic! Thank you all. We returned to Vero Prime to return the steak knives and have a bite to eat and thanked them. Vero Prime went above and beyond to brighten the lives of 2 daughters sitting with their loved one at the hospital. We really want to thank Ryan, David, and Mark for being so caring! Oh yes!! While visiting Vero Beach I wanted to treat my wife to a "fancy" dinner. Of course I went to look on Yelp and found Vero Prime. It did not disappoint!! Made reservations on the open table app. We were seated immediately and was well taken care of by our waiter Tony. Since we were there before 5:30, there was a special half-price menu. My wife ordered the filet mignon medium and it came out perfect I couldn't make up my mind between the prime rib and the ribeye steak. So I asked our waiter Tony to choose for me and surprise me. He faked me out by bringing their homemade horseradish sauce, then brought out this delicious huge ribeye steak. It melted in my mouth My wife's at the house out was fantastic, I have the French onion soup which I would highly recommend! With the caramel sea salt cheesecake... oh yes!! Went with a couple to the new location of Vero Prime....a bit confusing.... same owner once owned "old location Vero Prime" and Avanzarre. He closed both and moved old Vero Prime to Avanzarre location. So now Avanzarre is Vero Prime and old Vero Prime is closed, and Avanzarre is closed. (I told you it's confusing!) to complicate matters, many things on the new Vero Prime menu are Avanzarre menu items, so I guess it's all combined so it ought to be called Verozarre, or Avanprime. Anyway it all seems to work and the food is pretty good. I especially enjoyed the short rib lasagne (Avanzarre item). I don't like that the front bar was removed. It was the better of the two bars I thought. And now instead of two restaurants, there's only this one. And I'm not entirely sure which restaurant we are at! read more

Visited my brother and decided to go out to dinner here with him. The interior was a classic, dark room, smoky steakhouse, but did feel a little tired and worn out. Our server, Matt, was excellent and was very knowledgeable on the menu and answered any questions we had. For food, I got the Caesar salad which was excellent. My main course was the 16oz rib eye. The steak was decent. It had a good flavor but not too much of a crust and did not have too much of a complex flavor. Overall it was a good dinner, but the steak itself was lacking. read more

What a great stop. We decided to stop at Vero Prime on our way to Ft. Lauderdale. We had the burata salad, onion soup, aged prime rib and caramel cheese cake! All were amazing. Not impressed at all! Pretentious presentation with not so good food! Short rib lasagna was absolutely horrible. Pasta was thin and burned on the ends and crunchy (all two whole pieces of it) the "short ribs" sauce was so over done it tasted like Dinty Moore stew beef from a can with greasy brown sauce that tastes like steak-ums (I know u know exactly what I'm talking on both points). The best thing was the small salad dressing. Way overpriced for what you get so don't let the glamour appearance fool you! Go down the street to the next one. The red wine selection by the glass was limited and you could tell it came from a two-day-old bottle. The waiter could have been better trained but he tried hard to please. My steak was excellent but the twice-baked potato was a letdown...very dry. Had to order a steamed green (at an extra cost) to come with what was already a pricy dinner. The ambiance is tired. DO NOT EAT HERE! We had dinner here tonight for my brothers birthday and I will NEVER come here again. We arrived for our reservation at 6:30 on a Saturday night. By 7:00, the time we ordered, they were already out of two specials. However, we were not notified of this until we had already been waiting almost an hour for our meal and needed to switch two entrees. We started the meal with oysters, upon arrival to the table we could immediately smell the fishy-ness. The oysters were not plated on a bed of ice and were room temperature. Not only were they warm they were fishy and DISGUSTING. The "cocktail sauce" that came with the oysters was basically marinara sauce. It should have been a plate of mozzarella sticks instead of oysters based on the temperature and sauce. My mom got a chopped Italian salad to start and not only was it missing ingredients that were listed on the menu it came out hot as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp. For her main she ordered the veal and spinach ravioli, it was INEDIBLE. Never once in my life have I spit out food but I could not stomach this. It was another level of disgusting. It was as if they were super freezer burned. The filling was dry and dusty, mealy in your mouth, the pasta was hard and chewy and the sauce was watery. I was so put off after trying that that I could not continue to eat my own meal. Chef boyardee straight from the can would have been more appetizing. I had a steak salad for my entree, they did not ask how I wanted the filet mignon that came on the salad cooked when I ordered. Of course it came out with tiny bits of extras of over cooked steak. We had three steaks, two aged ribeyes and one regular ribeye. The regular ribeye was grainy and inedible without steak sauce. We spoke to the waitress about the ravioli and she asked if we wanted dessert. Are you kidding me!? She did not apologize for serving repulsive food or offer to remove the dish from the bill. To offer us more food that without a doubt would have also be disappointing and subpar was a slap in the face. Not that I would have wanted this after the night we had but I told them we were celebrating a birthday when I made the reservation and they did not acknowledge that in any way. This place was a joke. I don't know how else to say it. My mind is actually blown that they are still in business. After spending $500 on this experience, I would have rather lit $500 on fire then spend it here. read more

Received a gift card for our anniversary and this was our first visit. Our waitress, Stewart, was lovely and that was the best part of our experience. Went for the early bird menu which is only from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. so get in there quick! I did have a white bean soup before my meal and it was delicious but I had the chicken piccata and it was so bland the chicken was just overcooked and they slapped a piece of cheese on it and melted it and that was about it. My husband had the Bolognese and he enjoyed that I thought it was a little salty. It was all right, but nothing that was worth the $20 price tag for the entree. I can't say for the rest of the menu but I have to tell you based on this experience, I am not willing to come back and risk a $42 entree to try the steak. read more
