Sunday Night Family Italian spot. Wow. Electric. The place was packed with families at tables. There were other people carrying out cardboard boxes filled with to-go bags. This reminds me of any family style New England spot... you know - "The one in town". HISTORY! Check their website. Scroll to the bottom. PARKING Whether you're just picking up or sitting down for a long meal, there's easy free parking in the lot next door, just east of the restaurant. SERVICE Despite being a busy night, we only had to wait a few short minutes before Anthony sat us at a comfy booth style 4-top. (Reservations are for groups of 5 or more) Despite the busy - it was busy - night, all the servers were great and happy - food came hot. FOOD Bread came to the table, but we ordered a loaf of garlic bread anyway (we carb load hard) STARTERS - get these: The Portabello mushrooms are loaded with garlic and butter. The mozzarella and tomato with tons of freshly julienned basil (oil and vinegar on the side) - it was devoured before a photo. Dinners come with a salad and soup. Salad: Simple salad with dressing (1000 island style dressing). Amazing tomatoes. Soup: A cup of house minestrone? Has wheat noodles in it. Our server switched out for salad because of Gluten allergic people. More food MAINS* GLUTEN FREE PASTA They have a corn based GF pasta that is great pairing with sauces. Eggplant Parmigiana A stack of breaded eggplants with tons of melted mozzarella cheese. I'd definitely get this again. The sauce and garlic bread are a perfect match. I wanna roll up my sleeves and make a sandwich outta it (including the spaghetti). Chicken Rolletini (GF) My daughter loved this. "It's great" Baked Manicotti + sausage My son can EAT, but this is a lot of food! Creamy sauce with the garlic bread is also a super combo. The side "add-on" sausage comes on a plate separately from the main dish (my son loved it). Made awesome leftovers. Pasta Tino (GF) Swapped the pasta for gluten free version. Fantastic sausage and flavor of artichoke hearts make the dish. If you like artichoke flavor - this is for you. *There is a lot of food. We brought home two bags of leftovers for lunch the next day. PRICE The price of dinners before wine was very reasonable. The food - the people - the atmosphere - the family vibe of the customers around you - worth it!! (Also this was plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day!) Dessert next time. They have cannoli. Cmon. I'm stuffed.

As I enter the restaurant, it kind of brought me back to South Philadelphia. Definitely very Italian restaurant's environment. I suppose I got lucky, I had a great server also. Most of the food is great, except I've had better Eggplant Parmigiana. I expected kind of a flattened breaded eggplant .

Scarentino's has been a family tradition of mine for several generations now. I've been coming here before I even had a conscious memory, and when that developed, it was of Sam greeting us at the front followed by delicious ravioli. My mom started going when she was a kid and this later became my father's favorite restaurant. We come here to celebrate his birthday every year in his memory. Any celebration is special when it is Scarentino's worthy, (and we justify it a lot LOL). From the stellar service, old school ambiance, and the house ragú, it truly is a special place and one of Glendale's gems. For those local here: if you know, you know, and if you're trying someplace new, you will not be disappointed! My top recommendations are the shrimp scampi, the linguine with clams (me and my dad's favorite), the classic lasagna (my mom's favorite), the eggplant Parmesan, and the chicken Marsala. The minestrone is delicious and I have yet to come across one that beats Scarentino's. They have an excellent pink sauce on request and is my sisters go to for her pasta. Everything on this menu is solid, and if you have room for dessert, the spumoni ice cream and tiramisu are delicious! I've tried many Italian restaurants and Scarentino's has yet to be outclassed. Next time you're considering going to Olive Garden, try this local family owned business instead and let the quality speak for itself.

Came in and was greeted right away. Staff were friendly and inviting. Restaurant was nicely decorated and intimate. The food was really good. The bread was pillowy and soft. The manicotti was cheesy and delicious. The lasagna was layered great meat & cheese ratio. The Italian sausage had good seasoning and a great flavor. Come hungry and you'll still leave with left overs. Price point is $$-$$$ but the portions are large and filling. The spumoni ice cream was really good and you could taste each flavor. Would definitely come back. A nice touch was the owner came by and recommended a few dishes to try since I had never been here before. Would recommend and dine again.

First timer here! Absolutely loved the authentic and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and I appreciated the staff offering exceptional service by being really attentive of their customers! I had the Baked Manicotti. It's exactly how it's described but honestly it sounds much better on paper... It was basically an Italian enchilada but the combination of a crepe and ricotta cheese wasn't it. I'd recommend to order something else off the menu. I'd also suggest skipping the bread since it isn't served toasted/warm, therefore it tastes slightly stale, not worth the calories or carbs imo. Nonetheless, I was a satisfied costumer with the delicious soup and salad offered with the meal, I was not expecting that treat! It's evident this restaurant tries to go above and beyond and for that I applaud them!

This was my first visit. It felt a little like traveling back in time. Wood paneled walls and dark red booths. Cute holiday decor and a very warm and attentive staff. Classic Italian faire and large portions. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Pasta with olive oil and lots of veggies. Yummy

I was reading this page and saw mixed reviews, so I decided to try it with my son and make my own determination. They have no parking but thankfully we found a spot on the side street. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an apartment building. They also have outdoor seating, but we sat inside. One restroom each for men/women (and super clean). We walked in and got a pleasant greeting from Mia. She was HANDS DOWN the best part of this experience and provided stellar customer service. She is so young and has a bright future ahead of her. Mia treated us with genuine kindness and was a pleasure to talk to during our dinner. She made sure we were well taken care of and our orders were to our exact specifications. This restaurant is very lucky to have someone as good as her working there. For our appetizers, we got the Cesar Salad ($17), Parmesan on the side, and Bruschetta ($17). I also asked Mia if they bring complimentary bread to the table and she said they do, upon request. She asked if we wanted olive oil or butter and I chose butter. My son and I both enjoyed the Bruschetta and thought it tasted very good. The bread was nicely toasted and the tomatoes were seasoned well. It was also a good portion, easily shareable between 2-3 people. The salad wasn't our favorite and we've definitely had better at other restaurants. The lettuce didn't taste too fresh and the dressing wasn't really that good. The portion size was good, though. For my entrée, I got the Spicy Rigatoni ($22) but I asked for it to be light on the spice and added shrimp (+$12). It tasted fine, nothing really to write home about. I had to ask Mia to microwave it for a minute because it wasn't hot. My son ordered the Chicken Parmigiana ($23) but asked for the chicken to be grilled instead of breaded. He said he enjoyed his dish and the tomato sauce had a good amount of garlic in it. For dessert, Mia was kind enough to bring out a complimentary Key Lime Cheesecake since she found out my son is celebrating his birthday in a few days. She was seriously impeccable. Honestly, the place is just really drab and boring. There isn't much decor and it feels like a slightly elevated diner that serves beer and wine. It was a Friday night and there was no one in there/no pickup orders. We were there from about 7:30pm-10pm when they closed and only 3 other parties came in. There is no music playing, which makes the atmosphere even more drab and lifeless. Its also super cold in there and I asked Mia to adjust the AC and even after she did, it was still cold. It's not an upbeat type of place at all but the food is decent and Mia's service is the best part. She herself is 10/5 stars, but for my overall experience, I'll stick with 4 stars this time.

She explained that they were short-staffed and had two brand new servers last Sunday and that she was frantically trying to take care of the cooking and the serving as well as greeting newcomers. That explanation makes sense and had we known that, we might have chosen to forego the reservation that day or not been upset. I appreciate her taking the time to get back to us and being so candid and self-effacing. It seems it was a confluence of unfortunate factors that led to us having a sub-par experience at a respected restaurant.

We were given a complimentary garlic cheese bread to start and ordered a New Haven Clam Pizza and a Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken. The garlic cheese bread was just okay; the inside wasn't too tasty, but it did look very good... I was disappointed that this didn't live up to the potential; aesthetically it looked very good with a golden brown top lightly sprinkled with cheese. The Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken is quite the staple, and it was pretty tasty - the pasta cooked to perfection. The cream sauce was also very good. The large New Haven Clam Pizza was a surprise for me; it was a combination that worked, somehow - first time for me, for sure. I wasn't sure what to think of the taste, but it was good with the balsamic sauce that was included. I finished 3 slices and packed the rest to go, disappointed that it didn't come with the unused fig sauce. We enjoyed both along the wall at a booth that was dimly lit. Overall, I wouldn't rank this is high or low but definitely could have been better, and dessert confirmed this. We had the Butterscotch Budino, and it was everything a kid would've liked - a pudding layered in a centimeter of caramel syrup. I only ate a spoonful, and the second spoon was difficult. Paying was easy once a server was flagged down, and we were able to split the bill, too. After paying, the server didn't bring the pizza that was packed away unless asked. (Maybe I should've checked for the sauce here, too, just in case...) The real damage, though, was either the pizza, the fig sauce, or the caramel syrup, because my throat was gone within the next few days. While I did enjoy the ambiance, I unfortunately couldn't say the same for the food. This is going on the list of "not for me" :(

Tucked away in an unexpected corner of North Hollywood, you walk through the entrance and suddenly feel as though you've been transported to a breathtaking Italian garden. The ambiance is absolutely magical and easily ranks among my top 10 dining experiences in Southern California. I've been coming here for well over a decade, and it has never lost its charm. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, enjoying a romantic date night, meeting friends for brunch, or simply treating yourself to an unforgettable meal, Ca' Del Sole delivers every single time. The food is exceptional. Every dish is beautifully prepared with the quality, elegance, and attention to detail you'd expect from an upscale restaurant in France or Italy--but at prices that are surprisingly reasonable. It's rare to find a restaurant that feels this luxurious without the luxury price tag. Their brunch is outstanding, dinner is absolutely spectacular, and every meal feels like an occasion. The service is equally impressive. It's not unusual to spot an A-list celebrity dining here, but what I love most is that everyone is treated like a VIP. The hospitality is warm, genuine, and consistently exceptional. The staff has a way of making every guest feel welcome, appreciated, and completely taken care of. I especially love the beautiful cabanas and garden patio. It's one of those places where you find yourself lingering because you simply don't want the experience to end. A realtor I recently worked with to sell two properties wanted to catch up and present me with a little something for the opportunity at Ca' Del Sole. I'd driven by this place since I often worked in the area or used the streets as a shortcut of sorts, while this was relatively close to his office in Studio City. Opened in 1994 by restaurateur Rudolfo Costella and fellow Venetian Master Chef Antonio Tommasi, the idea was to offer a glimpse into the atmosphere, cuisine, and culture of Northern Italy and a Venetian country inn in the center of the San Fernando Valley. Costella has since expanded his empire with a few more restaurants in Phoenix, AZ and Southern California, respectively. Would I feel at home under the guise of the warm Northern Italian sun!? Shrimp Fusilli ($23.95): Homemade green fusilli and medium shrimp in a buttery creamy sauce topped with grated cheese, the portion was smaller than expected, but each bite was blissful, and I used the bread to wipe down my bowl! Salmon Farfalle ($23.95): My realtor let me try his heaping entree portion of thick chunks of tender salmon and velvety pasta in a butternut squash sauce - yummy Valet Parking ($7.00): Cash only, there weren't any other onsite options. SERVICE Once we arrived for our reservation, the lovely young hostess sat us in a relaxing cabana outside in the back patio where we were greeted by a friendly older gentleman server armed with menus and glasses of water. We took forever to order (sorry!), so he went over the specials, which we pretty much ordered from. Our drinks and bread basket arrived quickly followed by the appetizer, then our soups, and finally our entrees all spaced out as they checked on us regularly. Everything was casual and professional - grazie! PARKING ($7.00; valet only): They had a private lot. Otherwise, I should've done what my realtor did and parked along the main drag of Cahuenga Blvd. with meters - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A deceptively large layout once you entered the waiting area with a separate bar area nearby, an indoor dining area off in another direction, and then the amazing outdoor dining area with its mix of cabanas and open-air tables among plants and trees. Obviously, there was plenty of natural light outside (I couldn't say about the inside) while various electric lights covered the rest. It had a very European relaxed feel. I saw a TV in the bar area but couldn't recall any background music other than the street traffic. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was so happy to finally try Ca' Del Sole and couldn't wait to return, especially to try their Happy Hour (MO-FR 5pm-Close in the bar lounge area only; everything $5.00). The food was awesome, the menu selection was vast, the prices were a touch elevated, the atmosphere was European casual, and the service was top-notch. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible (sure, they owned a few other restaurants). I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $127.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

They also make sure to stress that dishes don't arrive together. It's mainly a pasta restaurant, why can't the kitchen push out pasta orders together? The first time we were there one of our three pasta dishes was literally ten minutes behind the other two. The most recent visit the restaurant was not full so the dishes largely came together but the pastas were sent before al dente. The soppresini wasn't al dente, it just wasn't fully cooked. The flavors of the dishes are really good but the execution is sub par. One of the folks at our table mentioned it was their birthday so without us asking they brought a scoop of ice cream with a candle which we thought was really nice of them. Then the bill came and we saw that they proceeded to put it on the bill for $6. Didn't want to make a scene but this is beyond tacky and overall I can say we won't be returning here anytime soon.

I find the $13 for the bread a challenge, but it was great nevertheless. For the Octopus, it was a 6 out of 5. Possibly the best I ever had. I am not a fan of celery, but I loved the salad that came with it. Who ever knows me: Guido bragging about salad? No way. Then we had the Vodka penne, followed by a Prosciutto pizza. We are good eaters, but we had to pass on desert, we were full. As I said, we went yesterday, a Wednesday. Featured item on the Happy Hour List: the Burger. I only saw them flying out of the kitchen. Take my word: next Wednesday. Same place. Happy Guido :-) $150 well spent, I can't wait to go again. Great ambiance, and even greater service. We were surprised that an Italian place offered an Austrian beer and also some carefully selected Austrian wines. We asked - and were told that the owner loves them and went extremes to make them available. Thanks for reading this. Let me share one very personal thought at the end: THIS is a restaurant that shows love and heart by owner(s) and their staff. It clearly differentiates from any chain place. I wish all restaurants I rate with 5 stars were run like this.

From their Pizza, bolognese and almost the whole menu. Including the drinks. We're frequently here 3-4 times a month and it never has failed us. We have tried almost everything on the menu. Jordan is also one of the reasons why we visit because we've never felt amazing friendly service with awesome energy as always! It matters especially these days. Cheers to her always! P.S. if the big boss is reading this please bring back the butterscotch budino!!! We will visit way more often!
