The reason I rated the restaurant 3 star is because the manager applied special conditions on the Birthday promotion. Scarborough Buffet provides free meal on your birthday and 10% off on your birthday month. On Tuesday and Friday there is a discounted lunch price. But because of that birthday free meal is not honoured. 10% birthday month is not honoured. On arrival the Manager did not mention this and chose to inform after the meal. While it's written on their door sign, they should remind customers. Went in for the lunch hour on Friday to celebrate one birthday. The cold salad bar had muscles and shrimps. The fresh fry was chicken, pork and scraps of salmon. As well as grilled pineapple. Sushi was served with similar to grocery store quality (lots of rice) There was pork bone soup and quite a selection.

Have been here with family a couple of times over the years since they offer Birthday month free, and the place has had some major changes including the rebranding and renovations that happened. The food is better than places like Mandarin, but with variety comes a dip in quality as you can get better quality food at traditional Asian restaurants. The sushi is nothing special, slightly chewy. They do offer some specialties which other places might not have, such as peking duck wraps. A bit dry however. Be sure to try the chicken soup, scallops, and peking duck if you do visit!

I've come here to Scarborough Buffet a few times for either lunch or dinner. The food choices and quality of service have been consistently good. Pricing for this AYCE restaurant is competitive. Seniors discount kicks in at 65 YO plus lower prices for kids. Lunch is best on Tuesday at $11.99 for adults! There's plenty of free parking and its location on Markham Rd just south of Hwy 401 is easy access for most customers like me.

We went here for my birthday. It was free !! They have a decent selection here with a good variety of different dishes. To my surprise they offered half a lobster to each person eating at the restaurant. Everyone got a ticket that you redeem at the lobster station. As a seafood lover I liked the offering of lobster, crab legs, mussels and shrimp. The sui-mai and har-gow dumplings were good and fresh.

Scarborugh Buffet Takeout special menu 2020 July

During coranavirus times (since 2020 March), the buffet in this restaruant has unfortunately been closed. But I had occasiionally ordered the takeout box special here for $5.99+13% tax = $6.75. It includes 1 choice of main dish (eg. chicken ball / chicken wing / sweet sour pork/ general tao chicken / spicy szechuan beef ...etc.) on top with 1 choice of staple (eg. fried rice / white rice / shanghai noodles ...etc.), and usually includes 1 small bowl of wonton soup with 3 pieces of wonton inside. Usually takes about 10 minutes to cook. The portion is larger than usual compare to other chinese restaurants nearby, and it tastes great too, overall great value. P.S.: Recently saw a move-out notice for this restaurant, seems like they will be moving to 91 Rylander Blvd from 2021 June onwards, saw several moving trucks near there too.

French Quail Egg Brullee/Custard. Never seen this before at a Chinese buffet especially for lunch.

Okay gonna upgrade to 4/5 as it's well deserved. We had a family gathering today for lunch and it was solid as all the guest really enjoyed themselves. Even saw some unusual items like French quail eggs brullee which I've never seen anywhere before. Salmon sashimi for lunch was a big surprise as well. Current management has done a great job in improving the quality and service for this place and they definitely deserve a higher rating then it currently has. 4/5. Well done!

Came here on a Tuesday for a family dinner. The selection was good. Among the large variety of food choices included dim sum, BBQ, and sushi. Food ran out quickly, but they stations were refilled pretty fast. In the dishes I picked, there was a lot of MSG, because I drank heaps of water. My favourite thing about this buffet is that there's a handwashing station before you enter the buffet area. Although it appeared underutilized while I was there, I am all for hand hygiene. Overall food was ok.

Food selection is decent but a few of them were practically empty, usually the good ones. Waited around until they put in a fresh batch

Gotta rate Scarborough Buffet with a grain of salt because AYCE lunch was only $11.99!!! Best part about my visit: bean curd soup with ginger syrup was quite good, servers were not terribly friendly but nonetheless polite and filled our water/cleared our table quickly, chicken wings, select sushi were OK, BBQ pork chop, cutlery was cleaner than I would have expected. Could've been better: exiting the parking lot onto the main road may cause an aneurysm, the large chicken balls had a small shred of chicken in it, select sushi were not OK, and while I admire the table layout maximizes the amount of guests they can serve... little move to room when it's busy. Not the greatest buffet but I can say 6 rounds of lunch and dessert later, I made every cent worth it for the price. 3/5

I grew up eating at this place and they've had many reinventions since. Not too fond of their most recent one because of the main open concept room. For the food selection they have most of the essentials for a Chinese buffet but not a wide variety. The dessert bar also doesn't have many options. They only have ice cream, 4 choices of cake and finger food. Overall this place is convenient enough for parties or if you're just craving to eat a lot for a decent price.

The buffet was pretty good. It is definitely a place to stuff your face for cheap. We went in as a group of 4 with a free meal since one of our group members had a birthday this weekend. The price was about 12.99 each, while Tuesday and Friday is 10.99 for lunch. The variety of food was pretty good, plenty of variety to choose from. The waiters were very attentive and never had any issue dealing with the full room we were situated in. They filled up our cups and asked if we needed extra napkins and utensils. The ambient lighting and the newly renovated restaurant made it a pretty good experience to dine in for lunch or dinner. The trays were constantly filled so it is never really empty for the lunch rush. Overall, I would go back when I'm in the area or if someone suggest a cheap buffet to stuff their face.

If you're looking to fill yourself up, not really looking for the quality in food, a variety, and for the price of what you get, look no further. This place is one of the cheapest ayce Chinese buffets that I have been to, on a regular lunch day, it is $12.99 /adult. Their Tuesday special is even cheaper! At a whopping $10.99!! The service was ok.., felt really bad for the waiter since he was the only one working for a full room of people. He also had a cut on his hand.. Many used plates were piled on top of each other as he had no time to tend to us. You basically pay for what you get, so, the quality of food... is pretty bad.

Previously called "Super Buffet". Went under renovations recently and now reopened as "Scarborough Buffet". The interior does look a lot better now, open-concept, very spacious and modern looking. Despite its reno, food selection and taste is pretty much the same. Unlimited lobster and crab on Sundays!! Better grab some lobster 'cause those things go out quick!! Generally the crab is tasty however, today's batch appears to be lacking in flavour and over cooked. Didn't taste much like crab... more like a mush of paste...? Peking Duck was lacking as well. It wasn't as good as the first time I've had it. It also seemed like they stopped making the wraps or was just making them really really slow since I went back to the station several times and the trays were still empty.. As usual, the typical stir fry veges, noodles, fried rice, calamari, fries and curry fish balls were all still there. Surprisingly, they served pork hocks! Kind of disappointed though since the taste wasn't as aromatic as I'd like. They now have dim sum as well, your typical Ha Gow (shrimp) and Siu Mai (pork). The Ha Gow was not bad but the Siu Mao tasted like frozen dimsum you get at the supermarket. Soup station is still there and I think I thoroughly enjoyed their soups more than the "main course" foods. Can't really go wrong with the soups since they are all flavourful. They still have the sushi bar however, sushi is pretty mediocre; both taste and selection. Sashimi (salmon + white tuna) was not fresh at all but edible. Lastly, I think I enjoyed the dessert station the most. Had flang and it was delicious! Not too sweet but sweet enough to hit the spot. I also had a slice of cake which I believe it was cappuccino flavour. (I'm no cake enthusiast so some signs/tags would help...) Ofc, as a green tea lover I've got to have some matcha ice cream. Matcha ice cream was more on the sweeter & creamy side rather than matcha. I also got strawberry ice cream however, this strawberry flavour tasted so artificial that I couldn't even finish it. (Normally, I finish all my ice cream esp. strawberry!) Overall, food selection and taste is mediocre. It'd be better if they have more sushi selection/variation and putting some more effort into the food's flavour/taste. Also, a lot of the foods were either sitting there for too long or just not being heated as I found my food to be cool/cold once I bite into it. Service was prompt. Servers were always on the ball of cleaning up plates & refilling drinks!! Not a bad place to dine once in a blue moon.

But I really liked the atmosphere. Although it's small, it's bright and there's plenty of sun coming through. We ordered a few dishes and all were tasty. I enjoyed all of them. The fried dumplings were delicious but you have to be careful when you eat them. They are so juicy that it sprays out when you bite into them. My friend warned me about this, but it still happened anyway. The best dish had to be the chili oil noodles. I really liked the texture, width and flavours involved. There was just enough of a spicy kick without it overpowering the noodles and other flavours. I will definitely come back to have this again. Overall, I don't have anything to negative say about this restaurant. Delicious food, nice atmosphere and friendly and fast service. Prices are also reasonable too.

Wai Tack Kee makes traditional Chinese snacks. You can get some of them at T&T. However, it has some offerings that aren't available at your local Chinese grocery store. Rather than going into a supermarket and battling crazy shoppers trying to prepare for this upcoming new year, I decided to order directly through Wai Tack Kee and pick my order up today. You have the option of either placing your order on Wai Tack Kee's site or through direct messaging on Instagram. I did the latter and the response time was pretty fast. I first got a link to the menu. The person behind the account indicated which items were sold out. This place is that popular! I got the following items: - Tofu crisps - garlic - Tofu crisps - sweet - Lotus-shaped blossom cookies - Lunar new year assortment (5 varieties of snacks are in it) I got detailed information on pickup dates and times. I also got a link to the pickup location that opens up Google Maps. I chose today (Friday) between 2 and 4 pm. Payment is through e-transfer. It was straightforward. You get an invoice and confirmation that your payment went through. Today, I drove over to pick up my order. I got there just after 2 pm. It's just under twenty minutes by car for me to drive over without breaking the sound barrier. The place is located in a quiet business area in Scarborough. There's parking available, but you truly have no choice but to back into a spot. The laneway is narrow. As instructed, I got to the door and rang the doorbell. A lovely woman said hi. I indicated that I was picking up an order, and stated both my first and last names. She was so friendly and said that she'd fetch my order. I'm not kidding. In less than ten seconds, she came back and handed me a rectangular paper bag with handles. It was full of goodies. She wished me a happy lunar new year. I reciprocated and happily left. I guarded my snacks with a ton of care as I drove home. I hope that they all last till the actual day. I have cracked open the box of garlic tofu crisps. They are so good. There's a touch of sweetness. The garlic flavour is mild at first, which works well with the crisps. The garlicky goodness lingers, but you won't offend anyone near you with your breath. Yum! I managed to get some crisps for my parents and dropped them off. My mom has already had some of the garlic crisps, too. I have a feeling that their box won't last this weekend! It has been a great experience getting these snacks without hitting a Chinese grocery store and dealing with that stress before the new year. I like ordering directly through Wai Tack Kee, a local family business that is working around the clock to get these goodies made. I'd do it again. It was smooth and easy. (39)
