Mortadella Sandwich bistro Box
Amber B.

Kind warm staff who known their stuff about cheese bread and wine. People after my own heart. The sandwich I has was delectable and the gentleman who made my order placed some sweet/hot peppers in for me which he said complimented the cheese nicely. He was SO right! The store front is clean and very rustic interior feels like a little slice of Italy. Imnso happy I wandered in for lunch! Their charcuterie options are impeccable. Im so excited to go back on a weekend or after work for a board and a glass of wine. Thanks for your hospitality today!

Many years ago before I Yelped,I heard big rumblings about a " cheese shop" opening. After reading a big write up in the Sunday Dallas Morning news( remember when people read Sunday newspapers?) I stopped into Scardello for a visit. Dallas appetite for everything gourmet was just beginning and I couldn't imagine a cheese shop making it. For some reason I hadn't returned? That is until now. Their business model has evolved over the years from that humble beginning to serving cheeses by the pound, sandwiches, charcuterie and breads. I picked up an unusually hard to find Brie today. Go!

This place is so darn cute! The owner is so friendly and knowledgeable! The charcuterie box was SO yummy and I can't say enough about the quality of the products. Love the vibe here! Will definitely be back!!

We stopped by for an afternoon cheese & bubbles snack and even though we entered 45 minutes before closing (on a night they were setting up for a class, no less) they went out of their way to set up a table for us and make us feel at home. It's impressive how much they know about their products and they're eager to answer questions and share stories. It felt like a personalized MasterClass! This would be a perfect date night activity.

I'm a huge blue cheese fan, and I'm always looking for ways to get blue cheese in my mouth. I saw that this place offered a blue cheese class and proceeded to immediately sign up and throw my money at them. You walk in and there is a large cheese counter, a large wine display, a seating area, and an overall very homey, intimate vibe. I was fortunate to have a very fun table and loved everyone I sat and chatted with. The owner was great, very personable and his care clearly comes across in his craft. In the class we sampled 4 wines and 8 cheeses. What I loved besides the fact that each cheese was downright delicious, was that each cheese had its own personal story, flavor profile, and distinct taste. I was chocked at the quality of the cheese, how creamy they all were, and how different they all tasted! I was able to definitely learn a lot and was able to dive into different cheeses in my favorite category. I had great company, and was introduced to some great wines and cheeses. I recommend checking this spot out for a class and obviously stopping by to check out the delicious cheeses they have. You will not be disappointed, and I'm already planning another trip back! P.s. Parking is in an alley in the back, behind the story. It's a little hard to find, but fear not there's plenty of spots once you find it!

The cheese options are phenomenal. An excellent spot to grab goodies for any party. The staff is always willing to help explain the differences in the cheese options. The sandwiches are great too.

Custom Charcuterie Board with 5 cheeses, 2 meats, dried fruit, and nuts.

An amazing culinary joy! We are staying downtown for a quick staycation and popped in here for a relaxing lunch. They whipped us up a custom charcuterie board to dine-in after asking us a few quick questions about our cheese and meat preferences. The next thing I knew we were enjoying a beautiful board with fresh bread and a few glasses of wine for only $50. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to guide you through the flavors if you're like us and enjoy learning while trying new foods.

This place is located inside the Dallas Farmer's Market. There are a ton of places to eat but we can't say no to charcuterie! We got the cheese board plus salami and prosciutto (each meat was an additional cost). The cheese board came with nuts, figs, apricots, jam, and a bag of crackers. Total cost was around $22. I was pretty pleased with the quantity and quality of the board! Wasn't visually appealing since it was in a take-out box, but can't complain!

I love this place. I just took another virtual cheese glass, cheese and pickles, and had to write a review. The servings are just the right size. The cheese is excellent. The pairing were wonderful. Pickled zucchini is a new favorite! I save my slips from cheese class and order a plate of my favorites on future visits. I tell people cheese is the way to my heart. This place is a favorite.

We came here for a chocolate, cheese and bubbles event that was really wonderful and put together well. All of the employees were extremely friendly and one employee in particular noticed our conversation about truffle Mac & cheese while pouring us some champagne and brought us huge samples of a truffle cheese to try. The person presenting each section of the tasting was an excellent speaker and came off as extremely knowledgeable. If you haven't attended an event at Scardello I would highly recommend it!

We stopped by this spot on a rainy Sunday after going to DSO. The food was absolutely delicious and…read moreservice was immaculate! My husband and I started off by splitting the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket which were good but I wouldn't order again. It just didn't seem to be anything over the top special so I would rather order something else as an app. My husband ordered the fried chicken and I got the Crispy Chicken Katsu. Both were delicious and I would definitely recommend trying both! The Katsu came with a spicy mayo that made the sandwich perfect! The fried chicken is massive so definitely share that or go home with left overs. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I'll start with a positive -- the appetizers were actually quite good. The deviled eggs, dragon…read moreroll, and pigs in a blanket were all tasty, and that's honestly the highlight of our visit. Unfortunately, everything else was a struggle from the moment we walked in. We didn't have reservations, but eventually found seats at the bar. Given how busy the place was, we figured the bar would mean faster, more attentive service. We were very wrong. We ordered two beers, a non-alcoholic drink, and three appetizers. The drinks arrived, and the appetizers followed about 10 minutes later -- fine so far. But there were no utensils. We had to ask for them, and we asked for plates as well, which never came. The empty dishes from our appetizers sat in front of us for a solid hour with no one clearing them. The bartender who took our order never once checked on us. With 3-4 people working behind the bar, only one server approached us during the entire 40-minute wait between appetizers and dinner to ask if we needed anything. The bartender told us twice that our food was "coming out shortly" -- and still, 40 minutes passed. When dinner finally arrived, my order was wrong. I ordered the Mongolian Short Rib, listed clearly under the Entree section of the menu. The bartender claimed I had ordered off a "happy hour" menu -- one I never saw or was told about -- and had swapped it for BBQ Pork Ribs without saying a word. Knowing a replacement could take another hour, my friend swapped plates with me and took the ribs. He had ordered the steak frites, which, for a rare steak, should have taken no more than 5-6 minutes to prepare. The third entree, fish and chips, was just okay -- a bit soggy and not particularly fresh. To top it all off, after everything we dealt with, the bartender never asked how our meal was or if we needed anything else. The food has potential, but the service was inattentive, disorganized, and frankly unacceptable for a busy restaurant that should know better.

Up front: super impressed!…read more Why? Because we have tried this location several times now and every time it has been quality food, quality service, and vibey ambiance. The last 2 times we have had Zay G as our server and he is so kind, funny, and knowledgeable of all the things. One of the other things I super appreciate about this restaurant is the management is always sending out specials. It makes it so fun to be able to go have a fondue night in the middle of the week when it used to be a once a year kind of thing because of prices. So check this place out and give them some great reviews!

Our server was great, the food and drinks were pricey but good. They didn't have to-go containers. Like none. Zero. Zilch. I had to get plastic cups to bring things home. We were limited to what would make sense and for what I paid, they failed on the exit interview. I can see why they run specials on Friday, which seems bananas, it was 1930 and empty. Tells me there is something else afoot. I think next time we will do Melting Pot or other for fondue. It's ok but price and lack of management expertise / follow up need attention.
