This is a nice farm with a cute store selling milk, drinkable yogurt, butter, ground beef, cookies, eggs. This is my longtime bookmarked place ever since my family had babies because the store bought milk contained so many chemicals, sugar, unwanted growth hormones to make more milk by cow, then the hormones transferred to human, and caused obesity and other diseases as everybody knows. I am so grad finding this little cute store with pasture, cows grazing grasses, picturesque scenery, and fresh milk. This store hidden, but so many people driving in and out to get milk. I bought one gallon of raw milk, strawberry, and mango drinkable yogurts, after signing my name. I am so happy that our babies like them even though the taste is little different from Heritage organic pasteurized whole milk that they drink everyday. What a nice place to visit! They are the nicest people here! I had forgotten all about this little "hole in the wall dairy place. " I picked up some fresh drinkable yogurt, butter, and unpasteurized milk with cream still floating on top! Yummy!! You have to sign a waiver stating you are aware your purchasing unpasteurized milk. This little store is on the property where the Jersey cows are located. It's a nice oasis in the middle of a busy school district, Collin College on Jupiter Road. They have fresh eggs from a neighbors farm for sale here too. They also have where you can buy a half or a whole cow that's been to slaughter. You can also purchase specific cuts of meat that are located on the property in the freezer. Really glad I rediscovered this place! read more

This is an intriguing little store whose sweet staff certainly matches the hype, but the products themselves may be deserving more praise for their natural quality and not so much for standout flavors. When in Rome, buy the raw milk. While I will give it props for not provoking my stomach like store-bought milk does, I was surprised that its taste and consistency was more akin to water than milk. Yes, I shook the container each time, before the Purists come for my head. My family and I tried a different flavored yogurt each. Like the milk, nothing bad about it, just nothing special either. We also had their blueberry cookies and noted it couldn't seem to make up its mind if it was chewy or crunchy. Once again, not bad, but nothing remarkable. Now the one item I did absolutely love is their farm fresh, lightly salted butter. This is notably better flavor from store-bought and lasts surprisingly long because you don't need much to spread and flavor. I thought everything else, for all its neutrality, was overpriced from a consistent customer standpoint. This butter, however, will be my reason for going back and as far as I'm concerned could never be overpriced no matter the tag. read more

I've had the pleasure of indulging in 1-2 drinkable yogurts daily, for the last ~25 years. This would amount to ~10,000+ drinkable yogurts spanning across Middle East, Asia, Europe, North, Central and South America. Lucky Layla Farms' probiotic yogurt place amongst my top 10 yogurts that I've had the pleasure of experiencing. This beautiful concoction softly beckoned me as I was sashaying through its vicinity at the store. I answered. Both mango and blackberry flavors were delectable with a delightfully creamy consistency wrapped intimately around chunks of real fruit pulp. My taste buds thanked me profusely for this perennial experience and at their behest, I shall be procuring and exploring rest of Lucky Layla Farms' product line. Layla Farms are doing it right. My husband and I frequently drive by this farm while during our weekend errands, so one day we decided to finally stop by and buy some products. When you come here, you really feel like you are in the country and away from the Plano suburb. The store is tiny, but you can buy items like yogurt, honey, cookies, butter, and meats! In the large fridge right next to the little store, you can get fresh milk and eggs. In our visit, we got a couple of flavored drinkable yogurts, salted butter, fresh milk ($10), and eggs. The yogurts were pretty good and last quite a while so no worries on having to drink them right away. The eggs were pretty standard but a little too expensive (about $6 a dozen). Salted butter was nothing too special, so I probably would not buy it again. The fresh milk was amazing. You can really taste how fresh it is! So fresh that you have to sign a waiver in case your body does not agree with it somehow (my husband and I were good with it). According to the staff member there, the milk is good for about 2 weeks but the fresh taste lasts about a week. Overall, this was a pretty cool spot to check out in East Plano. We will definitely come back for yogurt and fresh milk when we have the craving. Thanks! read more

In my search for raw, grass fed milk, Lavon Farms is one of the only places I've found in Texas that sells it to regular consumers. I'm able to make cultured butter from the cream separated from the milk (it turns out a beautiful yellow, something that only grass fed milk produces), cultured buttermilk leftover from the butter, and fresh mozzarella from the skimmed milk. It's $10 a gallon, which sounds expensive, but considering everything I use it for it's very reasonable for high quality milk. Milk isn't the only thing available either. Their drinkable yogurt, available in mango, banana, blackberry, strawberry, blueberry, pina colada, and others I'm probably forgetting, is excellent in the morning when you need a quick bite (or drink). There's also cheese, butter (not cultured), and occasionally veggies produced from local farms. The owners are so friendly, offering to show you their cows or just chatting you up in general. I suppose Brian K writes bad reviews of all the grocery stores that have "Limit 1 per customer" on their ads too. Who needs more than 2 gallons of milk in a single day anyway? Tip: there's now technology called "phones" now that allow you to call ahead and see if they have milk available. What a time to be alive. read more

1. Raw milk. Very healthy. People only pasteurize milk to prevent disease but that's only because factory farms have unhealthy cows. In a small operation like this, I would be surprised if the farmers don't have a name for every cow. If you keep an eye on your cows, you'll know when they are sick so you won't be selling bad milk. In other words, unpasteurized milk is only unsafe if it is from a factory farm. Pasteurization kills off much of the nutritive value of milk. Pasteuriztion extends shelf life, so be sure to guzzle it all down ASAP. I challenge you not to do so, as it is very rich, creamy, and tasty. 2. Fresh lightly salted butter. Due to the salt, you'll have to use a 3:1 coconut oil to butter ratio to make your bulletproof coffee. You can't use the original 1:1 ratio of coconut oil to butter. It is only lightly salted so if you use distilled water to make your coffee, the small amount of salt will add just enough minerals to the coffee to taste like it was made from tap water. In other words, it is still usable for coffee even though it is salted. 3. Yogurt. Get the mango. It is out of this world. Yum! 4. Local honey. Supposed to be good for hay fever and allergies. To increase your IQ for test taking time or other mental endeavors, drink "bullet proof coffee". In each cup of coffee put; A. 1 & 1/2 tbsp coconut oil B. 1/2 tbsp grass fed butter C. 0 to 2 tsp honey to taste Grass fed butter is high in omega 3 fatty acids and coconut oil is high in MCT oil. These fatty acids are extremely nutrient targeted for brain function. The high caloric and vitamin content of grass fed butter and honey makes this cup of coffee a complete meal for a hurried student or executive. For a quick breakfast that is nutrient packed, I drink a cup of bulletproof coffee, a Lucky Layla drinkable yogurt, and a Now brand daily multivitamin tablet. read more

I'm only basing my review on the Raw Milk. I did not try any of the other things although they looked great (cheese, yogurts and butter). My wife is in need of calcium and after research she discovered that Raw Milk is the best way to get the RDA of Calcium in the most efficient way. We were directed here by the nice "Vitamin Lady" (Sherri) at our local Market Street. I was a bit skeptical especially after I had to sign a waiver in order to purchase the milk, which, by the way is $10.00 per gallon. I rushed it home as quickly as possible ignoring the Plano speed traps so it wouldn't spoil. (I know it wouldn't spoil in 10 minutes but I had to add that for dramatic effect). I waited for my wife to come home from work and we both poured a small glass and toasted her new found health. We timidly sipped it and then guzzled it down. WOW! Why have I not tried this before? So creamy and yummy. I want to put it on cereal, dunk cookies in it, and take a bath in it (not really, see above dramatic effect statement). Anyway, don't be scared. Drop the coin, get some milk, support a local business, and be healthy. I can't wait to go back and try the other goodies. read more

My dream came true! Some months ago I discovered this Miracle almost in Plano downtown. Now I drink real milk... People call it "raw" milk but I call it "MILK" because what we buy at any store has nothing to do with milk at all. Thank you, owners of Lucky Layla for what you are doing. Every time I visit you and see cows I think that Im going to drink happy milk again because my grandmother when I was a child always told me - drinking milk from a happy cow will make you happy too. And healthy as well... I saw people are not happy about how many gallons they can buy and no milk etc... I would just call... I dont think its a problem... What I do with 1 gallon of milk, Couple days I simply enjoy drinking it. The 3rd day I do yogurt, or kefir, or buttermilk, or cottage cheese (OMG!!!! Delicious!) and even little home made hard cheese - depends on how much milk I have. LOVE IT! I also buy butter and started thinking about eggs. Eggs would be just great because they are packed with healthy nutrition and vitamins. Yogurts have added sugar that I dont use so I make yogurts at home - I wish I could eat sugar as yogurts look delicious and I love drinkable yogurt. You know exactly where the food you are ingesting is coming from. I call that the perfect trifecta! My three teen/tween girls start each morning with Lucky Layla's drinkable yogurt. It is super delicious and supplies them with calcium and protein to start their day. My brother's family does the same, and we can have some heated debates over the best flavor. Still loving this place. Started drinking raw milk regularly the last few weeks. Yes it's pricey at $10 a gallon, but it's so good and good for you as raw milk contains higher levels of vitamins and efas as compared to regular pasteurized and homogenized milk . I drink a meal replacement drink for lunch or dinner consisting of a serving of the milk combined with a scoop of the Amazing Grass Amazing meal Café Mocha flavor. It really is yummy and my appetite is satisfied for at least 4-5 hours. I was fortunate when I stopped by a couple of days ago and they had some eggs for sale. I bought a dozen of the eggs. Those are yummy also. I eat lots of eggs for protein and I don't have any issues with my cholesterol. It's really great having this option in the area. read more

I don't get it. We bought the milk ($9) and the butter ($7). Totally mediocre, especially for the steep price. Oberwiess, or even Irish or Amish dairy goods are so much creamier and more flavorful. This stuff tasted store bought in the med. range - you can do better at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, certainly. I come here for their assortment of drinkable yogurts and of course, their fresh, raw, unpasteurized milk. This milk is even better than Horizon or Promise Land. It's rich, almost creamy, and even a bit frothy. It's not white like in the supermarkets, but more of an ivory with a slight, yellow tinge - that's all wholesome fat! Pure deliciousness! The milk actually separates and I give it a good shake prior to drinking. I could drink a glass of raw milk as a meal! Sometimes, when on the go, I'll drink a fresh, thick glass of this for an energy boost and to curb hunger. Raw milk is such a great, all natural, nutritional source to fat soluble Vitamins A/D and rich in enzymes! My husband suffers from seasonal allergies. Since it's from Jersey cows that are openly, languidly grazing on green pasture here in Plano, the milk helps him build an immunity to some North Texas pollen and helps to alleviate his allergy symptoms (in conjunction with consuming local honey). The owners are relaxed, friendly, and firmly stand behind the quality of their products. They possess that old-fashioned southern kindness and the elderly, avuncular gentleman even helped me to my car. Just bought from them last week. First off - I see a reviewer that said they do not take credit cards. That is an old review as I paid by credit card last Saturday. I bought eggs, drinkable yogurt and the raw milk. I hate yogurt normally. I actually liked this yogurt. My husband is the same. We only bought it for our son that likes yogurt. So imagine our surprise when we both actually liked the yogurt. We will be buying yogurt from them all the time now. We just moved from California. I have been trying to find milk I like and had have had a hard time finding milk that did not taste sour to me. The milk from Lucky Layla tasted fresh and sweet. Buttah! Beautiful, full cream buttah! You can never have enough. The raw milk is wonderful with the thickest cream line you will ever find. Keep it cold at 40 degrees or lower and it will keep for 3 weeks. I travel from Bonham just because of it. They always test their milk so no worries on harmful bacteria. My SO is lactose intolerant but can drink this milk just fine. Call ahead after 8:30am to make sure they have milk available. Their beef is a melt-in-your-mouth dream. read more

This was introduced to me by one of my professors right across the street in Collin County Community College. I've changed my diet this year and I've taken better care of myself so I'm always trying to find local foods in their purest forms when affordable. They were so kind the moment my friends and I walked in. They informed us about their products, the way they treat their cattle (which were happily grazing in their fields at the time), and the prices of each of their products. I'll be back soon!! (You must sign a form before buying their raw milk, but unless you are pregnant or have a poor immune system, I think it is perfectly fine drinking. I came here for the first time to get my dog beef bones and some raw cows milk! They didn't have a huge selection, but it was still a good experience and I got everything I needed. The yogurt was tasty and my dog loved the raw milk and he approves of the bones. The price for beef bones is a lot more reasonable here compared to raw beef bones at a specialty pet store. This is definitely a place I will go regularly for me and my pup! read more

HOMOGENIZED and pasteurized (Or DOUBLE pasteurized ) milk has very little value. But it gives that longer shelf life.Please read some comments written by other people.Simply bring to boil at low heat once and you are good.I keep it refrigerated . It is good for five days and after that I would make yogurt out of it. you cannot find any batter milk. The raw milk is becoming popular..I think that is the reason they are making it hard to sell raw milk. We are lucky to have this FARM and Their PRODUCT available.
