This place has been famous for many decades for their deli! Plus the various beer options. It is near SMU (Southern Methodist University), so go figure ;) I've seen the signage and accolades for at least 2 of those decades so FINALLY made it in. I have my favorite breakfast sandwich place but it is in Coppell and would love to have one closer so in I went! It is a rather old and somewhat dated convenience store with a Deli and Keg service. It has been 40 years since I needed to buy a bunch of kegs so really don't expect I'll need one anytime soon. But a good Breakfast Sandwich was another story. The line was short and the old 60's-70's style menu board was long! I ordered the Sausage, egg and cheese with mayonnaise and it was ready in no time. I found the pint of chocolate milk to wash this down and was at the counter paying for it within 5 minutes. Decent price for a good sandwich! The bread wasn't anything special, but it held all together. The sausage was pretty good! I look forward to trying other offerings as it does appear they do have great quality! read more

I was going to get the burger, but the pastrami swiss on rye was calling my name. I love that its reasonably sized for 6 bucks. Its not a cow between two crackers nor a single slice of meat. This was definitely a "homestyle" sandwich, where the bread is slightly doughy from not being completed toasted. The mustard isnt anything fancy like stone ground or artisan. Overall, its just a solid sandwich. Everything was well balanced, with the meat and cheese standing in the spot light. They toasted the meat and cheese to the right consistency. Its crazy to think Im eating a sandwich that probably has been made the same way 50 years ago. Its also amazing to look at their keg list to see what they have available. I was quite pleased with my experience. I shall return soon. read more

Keg Central! This is the place to go for kegs at SMU. They have a wide variety of cheap, kegged beers for all your party supply needs. They take a deposit on the keg, but always refund it when the keg is returned, regardless of the condition. They don't have much in the way of high end kegs, but excel at cheap beer- think Natty Light. They also sell all the cups, ice, bin, etc to go with your party. They also serve hamburgers here! Regardless of what they claim, the burgers aren't the best in town, but they are filling, fast and cheap. It's a good idea to get one while they're grabbing your kegs of beer out of the back. It seems that this business does most of its beer selling to the fraternities at Southern Methodist University. This is where most of them get their kegs. read more

During my home brewing days I tried kegging as an alternative to bottling which is both labor intensive and frustrating. But to carbonate your beer you need co2. Enter Parkit Market. Not only doe PM sell beer in bottles, cans and kegs it also refills co2 bottles. And at a reasonable cost. Plus, unlike other co2 suppliers in Dallas, PM refills your bottle. Other places simply trade out bottles which can be frustrating if you just bought a shiny new on like I did. For those not into home brewing, PM does have a good supply of both standard and local craft brews. And service is friendly and helpful. Parking can be a bit tight in the lot, but street parking is nearby. read more

My review is easy. I will just quote Kale from another review because it is identical to my experience: "After passing by and seeing the "best burger in Dallas" signs I decided to try it. I have to say it is probably one of the worst burgers I have had and it was over $6. They pulled a pre cooked hamburger patty out of the fridge and put it in the microwave right in front of me. Then pulled a plain white bun out of the bag you would buy from the grocery store and put it in the toaster. Then slapped it all together with mayo, lettuce and a tomato. It was terrible and I am sure others have noticed since I was there during lunch time and I didn't see a single other person order food (I was there for about 20 minutes). There are many good burger places within a half mile, don't waste your time with this one." I will add that they need to take the "Best Burger in Dallas" sign down. Found Parkit Market while searching for a place to refill my sodastream co2 canisters. Their website clearly indicates they do such refills (see picture). Drove 20 minutes on a Saturday morning & "Mike" is the only one that can do these refill & didn't come in until later (red flag #1). I was told to leave the canisters & they would call me when ready. I asked for a receipt for proof since two canisters are a $60 value & was laughed at (red flag #2). I was called a couple hours later letting me know they can't refill these type of canisters. Lemme just tell you about Parkit Market. Every time we drove by Parkit Market my dad would tell us the same story about how it was THE place to get kegs and you nary could find such nice people and blah blah blah. This went on for about 4 months, just until he realized everyone in the car made fun of him about telling the same story 10 dozen times. Poor dad. So, when time came for us to have our first big party at our new house, what did we do? Get a keg from where? Parkit Market. They were super easy to work with, had a HUGE keg selection and even helped us load it into the truck. I had to deliver the keg back to the P' Market alone and they were super nice and chivalrous and helped me lift it out of the bed of my dad's truck. Now we're just busy dreaming about our next party (Octoberfest with a few German pony kegs and brats?) and getting to do business with the Parkit Market folks again. read more

This place is like my own little grocery store, i use it just about on the daily. It's family owned, they all work there, and they couldn't be nicer people. I'm from near by, and when i first started coming hear again after college, the guy said "i remember you, you used to try to buy beer here in high school", and he was correct, but let's move on. It's on a very small scale, but they have anything you could get at a grocery store(outside of prodcue), and it's a lot quicker. They make all kinds of homemade sandwiches at the awesome deli in the back. To list a few that i have had, and will have again...Turkey, Tuna, Meatball, and the burgers there are very solid. Also, check the sign on the way in, they've always got some sort of lunch special. They have cheaper beer prices than anyone else in the neighborhood, esp the kegs. And they take care of everything when you get your keg from them. The same family owns that whole strip center. There is also a liquor store, floral shop, cleaners and a place to get your haircut. Someone's grandma took my order for a swiss jalapeño burger and served it up hot and fresh, with some of the freshest veggies (iceberg lettuce leaf, tomato slice and onion) that I have ever had on a burger that was not made at home. I used to live in the apartment complex right behind the Markit. So obviously I was there daily. Whether to feed my tobacco addiction or to buy a Diet Dr. Pepper or a Lottery ticket, those guys were there for all my needless needs. I was on a first name basis with the tall guy who always wore a hat (sorry buddy, bad memory...THANK YOU COLLEGE!). I once tried to buy a lottery ticket on my debit card *please hold the laughter* I thought since it was debit it was like cash...it was my first few months on my own...stop it. So...when I walked into PM I kinda felt like I'd found a bit of a gem. This is a no-nonsense, no frills place that always has a football game playing and always kinda feels like coming home. Haven't checked out the deli or the keg beer, but if I ever need a keg, I'm definitely coming here. The guys behind the counter are always friendly but not creepy friendly, and I always seem to get in and out of there pretty quick even when there's a bit of a line. Decent prices on everything.
