On the call, he gave me a very thorough rundown of what would happen on the day of the inspection. He told me the price of the service, and even offered to perform the inspection without me present to save me drive time. The day came, Courtney showed up on time, and the inspection was carried out. It took about an hour. He checked every conceivable item including test driving it. He gave me a concise review of his findings and opinions of the vehicle, and I ended up moving forward with the purchase. I am now very happy with my vehicle, and I have Courtney to thank for it. i reached out to jeff regarding an attempted break in on my car. jeff came out to my car, took…read moreapart the steering wheel column to see the damage and what needed to be replaced. then he charged my dad $300 for an hour of work, again all he did was take my steering wheel completely apart. he said he charges $150 and hour, but the reason he charged my dad $300 was because the next day he was supposedly going to get the parts and he was charging the extra $150 for driving around to get the parts. i left out of town for a week and jeff had known this. when i get back into down for three days straight jeff tells me he is going to come out to my car and he would literally say "ill be out today" and would never show and not tell me he wasnt showing. he pretty much scammed my dad out of $300. i'm not sure if the job was too advanced for him because he is a mobile mechanic idk if they can't do as advanced stuff i literally don't know, but he left me hanging and i had to go somewhere else. i feel like he took advantage of my situation and my dad because i am alone in portland and im 22. my dad doesn't even live here and was being nice enough to help me. to charge someone $300 for work you didnt do is ridiculous. if your rate is $150 and you were there for only an hour then my dad should have only been charged $150 for the time you were there. i ended up taking my car to the shop, and the total repair cost at the shop was lower than the service i would've gotten from jeff. thought he tried to convince my father and i that he was cheaper. this really sucked because i am by myself and to be left hanging with no car, and lack of communication is very disheartening and scary.

I took my 1984 GMC truck in ( which I've been restoring ) in for repairs and work. The first time I took it in they chipped my brand new paintjob. When I brought it to their attention they seemed offended with one of their workers saying as he walked away " Jesus, its just a old truck ". Here is my other list of complaints. No. - They installed brand new headlights and the don't even shine on the road. No. 2- They installed brand new backup lights in my rear bumper and left the bare wires just hanging with no tape or wire nuts. Didn't bother to hook them up. No. 3- They installed brand new trim around my brand new grill and instead of trimming to fit just overlapped the pieces. Looks very cheap. No. 4- They installed brand new cab lights and now I have a leak inside my cab. No. 5- The same cab lights, they installed a switch inside the cab instead of wiring it to the headlight switch like its supposed to. The hot wire going to the switch instead of being connected is just jammed in and any time you touch it it sparks. No. 6- They made new keys for the door locks and you had to work at least a minute to get them to work. I took it back and they said they fixed it and it would loosen up. Now, it still takes considerable time to open the drivers side and the passenger door won't unlock at all. Also, the electric switch ( they installed ) won't open the passenger side. No. 7- They called me and said that my brand new dash cover in the box was bent and wouldn't fit. I bought a brand new one and when I asked for the old one so I could return it for a refund was told they threw it away. No. 7- I was missing to storage lockers of parts. When I asked where they were the manager told his technician said he put them in the back of my truck and I must have lost them. We argued and he told me I was welcome to walk through the shop and look. I found them within 5 minutes stacked on top of each other sitting against a pole. No. 8- Same thing, I had bought two ( brand new ) steps for the truck as it is lifted, They said they couldn't install them. When I went to pick them up they said I already picked them up and I must have " thrown them in the back of my truck and they bounced out in the mile from their shop and my home. No. 9- They installed two ( brand new ) gas gauge sensors. When they didn't work I took it back and they said they fixed them. They didnn't. While driving six blocks from my home to the store my engine died. My gas gauge showed more than a quarter of a tank. I had to ( in rush hour traffic push the truck 50 yards into a parking lot. Other motorists helped me. I didn't think to check the gas tank because they said THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. I had to pay $80.00 for a tow five blocks to my home. ​ I tried to discuss all this with the manager and he became argumentative and dismissive. When I asked to speak to the owner ( Mike Christoferson) he refused to let me. Since then, I have sent a Registered Letter to Mr. Christoferson at Pro Tek office and haven't heard a word back. Also, sent a message to his Facebook page and still haven't heard anything. Their website is very proud of the fack that they repair high end luxury cars and certified antique cars. I guess my old pickup truck wasn't worth their time. I tried to refrain from writing a bad review so we could handle it like grownups and people of honor but find their ignoring me very offensive. Time to talk to a lawyer I guess.

I normally took my car to the Toyota or Lexus dealership, but they were quoting me an outrageous number so I thought I would look around at local smaller own shops to find a good one. Ben's had so many good reviews and I really trusted him. He was able to take a look at it the same day I called and told me to come back in a few weeks to have the service done. Everything went great, he was super nice. Got it done in a reasonable amount of time and charged the amount he said he would. Flash Forward to a few weeks ago, I noticed some weird jolting when the car is shifting gears so I took my car in to Toyota, got an inspection and a transmission fluid change. They told me it was way under filled, the fluid was a dark black color. They told me whoever did the last service on my vehicle with the transmission underfilled it severely. The technician told me it's basically a waiting game to see if my transmission is going to have lots of issues or not. Now I am having a ton of transmission issues and I am needing a new one. I would never recommend anyone to come here.

I had difficulty determining the cause of the problem. So I called and then visited a good man named Sean who is the manager at Ben's Japanese Auto Clinic. The problem was caused by a defective harmonic balancer pulley on the external end of the crankshaft that is connected to the serpentine belt. These sound like but are not parts for a rocket ship. As usual, Sean did a good repairing my rocket for a fair price. :-)
