The stromboli was full of steak, cheese,bell peppers and onions and had a great flavor!! Penne Pesto was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing!! When moving to the area a few years ago, we shopped around local pizza joints until we found the one. Schiano's is our absolute favorite. We've had their pizza, cheesy bread, and calzones and all are delicious! Their staff is amazing too. We only do pick up and always have a particular request when we do. One time we didn't make that request, and upon pick up, Dana verified that we didn't want it done the way we normally do. Whether there is a note associated with our phone number or she remembers us on her own, this attention to detail is something that turns good customer service into great customer service! A couple of us chipped in for pizza at work. I ordered a 20 inch jumbo "Meat Eaters" with feta cheese and jalapeños. Nobody complained. Sausage was flavorful bacon was savory,tender which complemented the pepperoni,ham and beef. Each bite was a symphony of flavor. My first time to visit, we ordered a Sicilian pizza and a regular NY style pizza. Both had great flavor and toppings were of good quality. I really liked their pizza sauce. It has a distinctly different flavor than your typical neighborhood pizza joint. My only complaint is that my Sicilian pizza was dry. I may give them another shot, and if I do, I will definitely order extra sauce for it. We ended up eating all of the NY style and leaving half of the other because it was just too dry for our liking. I have never been much of a pizza lover, even as a young kid (weird). I will only eat it when 1) I am craving it or 2) it's the only thing available and I happen to be hungry. Food: My colleagues were ordering food and asking if I wanted anything from this place. I looked at the menu and I chose the spinach and anchovie pizza, but unfortunately when my coworker arrived there she found out it was by the pie and not by the slice. So, I looked at the menu again and decided on chicken pizza (the next best healthy thing, right?). When they brought the food back they told me mine was in the box. When I opened it I thought someone must have ordered the same thing as well because the piece was HUGE. They assured me that this was indeed MY SLICE. WOW, talk about getting your money's worth. Imagine a 14' pizza and your slice is a 1/3 of it. 1 slice= around 3.50 Probably the best pizza I have ever had. They make their pizza in a stone oven and apparently make their own dough. This pizza is a GIANT NY thin crust style (just the way I like it) and on top of that it is NOT greasy at all. They are very generous with the chicken, and it is very well seasoned. As for the vegetables, they are obviously fresh and complement the chicken so well. My coworkers tried my slice and agreed that it was amazing, and now, they too order the chicken pizza. Now, when ask collectively as a group what we want for lunch, I often surprise myself suggesting this wonderful authentic NY pizza place. Next time, I am 1) going inside the joint to check out the decor and service and 2) looking for the owner to shake his hand for finally making me LOVE pizza like any normal person. there are about as many different preferences for pizza as there are pizza lovers. I have met many from across the nation that describe their favorite pizza, and who makes it the best (New York being mentioned the most). i've tried NY-style crust before, but never in NY. I couldn't appreciate what these NY pizzafficionados were trying to tell me until tonight. Schiano's is in a new strip mall and the place is decorated and furnished just like a classic, independent italian cafe should be: painted a provincial mediterranean yellow and well-lit, simple wooden chairs and red gingham tablecloths, (lots of space between tables - nice!), a TV in the corner playing Final Four, blues playing from the kitchen, a soda fountain towards the back and a big pizza oven that's hot and ready to please. I asked the guy who looked like he was running the place if it was his shop. He introduced himself as Eddie Schiano. You could tell from the accent that Eddie "ain't from 'round here". With my interrogation, he explained that he's been in the pizza business his entire young life, starting with his dad in New York, and indirectly wound up in Dallas a couple of years ago. (for 18 months i passed by this place twice daily and never noticed it... guess i'm numb to the suburban sprawl) so, being my first try, i went with the standard (since there is no typical supreme/combo/monster), 1/2 vegetarian & 1/2 meat eater, and a coke. what i was served was really good toppings and sauce on a crust like nothing i have never had (Eddie says he gets lots of compliments on the crust). under the toppings was an impossibly thin and crunchy crust while the edge was tender-crisp on the outside and soft and airy inside... this is the first time i wished for less topping and more EDGE. heh, I just had my first classic New York Pizza... in Richardson, Texas! (almost Murphy). it's certain that others will correct me about the authenticity of a true NY pie, but even if i'm wrong, i'm still right: this is the best NY-style pizza crust i've EVER had, and a MUST-TRY - even if you have to drive. oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that it's BYOB! Next time i hear the pizza call, i'm grabbing a few bottles of brew and heading here to try a different pie like the spinacci, buffalo wing, or the chicken alfredo. the menu offers a lot of variety: - individual gourmet toppings like basil, eggplant, artichoke heart and roasted red pepper - traditional calzone, stromboli and pasta dishes - even gyros, subs and wraps as broad as the menu is, i'm stickin' with the pizza for now read more

The tales of the weary business traveler are many and diverse, but here's another. The food was pretty good; a nice calzone, cooked correctly, no issues there. The Calamari was a bit bread-y, but there are a million ways to cook it, so it was a different take than my favorite style but still really tasty. The Antipasto Salad was a bit of a stretch, however. Maybe they just do these different in Texas, but I've had them in the real Italian restaurant areas of NYC and Chicago, and this one needs some work (IMHO). Make it closer to the real deal folks! You can do better! The reason for the 2-star spanking is that the (stated) 45 to 60 minute delivery time turned into 97 minutes... and then they forgot my dessert! Aaak..! Do I need another dessert? No, but I did desire (deserve..?) it and - after all - I did pay for it, sooo... did I call back to get them to correct the error? Heck no, it might not get here until midnight..! When you're working late on projects, after a long days training/braining/de-veining, while the suits go out to dinner, and the dinner YOU ordered is really late... well, you get the gist of it. My family and I ordered the Sicilian pizza. I felt like I was eating slop. It was not fully cut so I had to cut it more myself so we could break pieces apart. The cheese was falling off the pizza in huge clumps. I am aware of the thickness for this type of pizza, but I don't believe the dough was kneaded out enough and sauce and cheese was slapped on top. This place is near my house so I decided to check it out, and I'm SO glad I did! They have a solid list of Italian classics which I'm slowly trying, but what keeps me coming back again and again is the pizza. The Bella Italia is my absolute favorite. It has a white garlic sauce, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, basil, and a totally delicious mixture of spices. I don't usually like crust, but this crust is perfect--a little chewy and not too sweet. The owner is there every time I go in, and he really runs the show. He employs a lot of local high school kids to run the register, help with prep, and deliver. They've always been incredibly polite. I love this little local spot. read more

This place is terrible. The food is overpriced, they move slow as molasses and they're just unfriendly. You can often hear the cooks getting all angry in the kitchen and cursing at each other and slamming things around. The woman answering the phones is miserable. Some high school aged delivery drivers (presumably) stand around and stare at their phones, ignoring customers, doing nothing. This is such a depressing place. Sad people making sad, lousy tasting food. I was a customer for a while but after arriving on time to pick up a pie and waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes, I'm done. While I waited they didn't even say anything. No "sorry for the wait" or "appreciate your patience" nothing. It left me feeling they had forgotten or otherwise lost the phone order until I arrived. So the total wait time between calling in the order and actually getting the pizza was over an hour and 15 minutes. Again, not so much as a word from them.
