We have eaten here several times, with our most recent visit being this past Tuesday at the drive through. Our experiences have been good ones each time. The drive through line usually gets worked through pretty quickly, which is nice. As for the food, it was delicious! I got the smoked turkey breast sandwich, and enjoyed it. My fiancé got her sandwich with gluten free bread, and her bacon & turkey club was pretty good too. Another successful trip to Schlotsky's! We will read more

I went to the store in Buda, Tx. The sandwich was very good. The Cinnabon I got were horrible. They were as hard as a rock. So hard you could not bite them and could barely get a knife through them. To have to pay $14.59 for 6 mini Cinnabon is ridiculous and then not even be able to eat them. I will definitely not be back to that store. read more

I normally love this chain but the Buda location needs new management, staff, (really both) or to be shut down altogether. I'm sad giving one star because I would give no stars at this point. The consistency is a long wait at the drive through ( where I can see the staff texting, joking around, and otherwise not paying enough attention to complete the tasks at hand), and food that is just embarrassing. Usually they get my order wrong (even something as simple as asking them to leave off the mustard from a deluxe original ) and/or it looks thrown together and inadequate..so.. I've learned to stay away and go the Sunset Valley store - which is great!-but today I just wanted to stay close to home and decided to give the Buda location a last chance: Today I ordered the spicy brisket flatbread and kale chicken salad "pick 2"... Photos show the teeny cold flatbread with toothpick-hard threads of "brisket" and black moldy kale in the salad..This has to be a health risk and I will not be going back. I have always enjoyed Schlotzsky's. Greasy and cheesy and hot, this was one of the first toasted sandwich type places and had a unique taste. They used to have diced jalapenos that made it really good. And tasty jalapeno chips. Fast forward twenty some years. I rarely get one myself, but my kids like it. I have been a schlotzsky's fan for as long as I can remember. Not an every day fan but a twice, if not three times monthly kind of fan. After my run in's with this location, I have banned them for life. The first time they got my order wrong, I was irritated but it wasn't the end of the world. The second through tenth time, it was enough that I banned them for the year.(For reference, Im a turkey sandwich, no tomato kind of girl). Randomly tried them in December 2019....again with the completely wrong order. My bad, should have known better. Banned further. For the first time in 2 years, I walk into this location for a sandwich. I stand at the front counter for 10 minutes. I make eye contact with two employees who quickly look the other way so not to be the one who actually has to take someones order. After spending a few days on this, I have come to this conclusion; The working conditions mist be so horrible at this location that the staff is specifically sabotaging the business. Once is accidental. Twice is a mistake. Every time is "You really don't want to eat here". Short story long. I've been going to Schlotzky's restaurants for probably 25 years now. I love Schlotzky's and go probably once a month or so and always enjoy their food. However, this is hands down the worst Schlotzky's I've ever been to. I've been to this location three times now. We recently moved to Buda and were super excited that a Schlotzky's is this close. Again, I'm normally huge fan. However, this particular location is atrocious. They are really, really slow to get the food out and messed up our order 2 of the 3 times we went. That's a pretty bad record. And the one time we dined in the food they gave us was basically inedible. The only reason we went back a couple times was because I love Schlotzky's so much that I figured maybe they just had an off night. I'm writing this review hoping that the management will see it and make some changes. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of the franchise and living so close to this location I would have visited it 2-3 times a month probably. But now instead I'll drive farther to the one in Kyle. I had a simple order. In addition I had ordered center of the bun, which I did not receive. I tried to call and... I guess they have the phones turned off? So here I am complaining on yelp, most likely in vain. It took the creature behind the window forever to get my simple order to me and it wasn't even complete. It wasn't like she was a teenager either, like 30-40. I'm furious that I can't call to let someone know that they need to pay attention. I went into Schlotzky's to purchase a Cinnabon. I was greeted by Carrie who shined the brightest smile when asking "how may I help you?" I told her I had never had Cinnabon. She told me my options and patiently waited for my response. She was warm, friendly and I felt very well taken care of. The Cinnabon was delicious and fresh, the store was clean. I highly recommend this place and Carrie. She gives genuine smiles, looks you in the eye and makes you feel important. read more

Worst customer service location ever! Every time we go, the wait is forever long inside and in the drive thru and they are THE RUDEST. "Jess" (I assume the manager bc she barks orders at the others) is the WORST and needs to not be in customer service!!! Today, the inside line had 3 people and she was freaking out and told the other employees to "just shut the drive thru window down and not take any more orders". At 6:45pm dinner rush. A guy in line said he waited at the window for 25 minutes and never got his order so her response... give it to him for free... because she shut down the drive thru. I have several issues with this place. I live just around the corner form this Stripes Store where Schlotzky's is located. AN Austin-founded and successful restaurant should be much better than this location is. I don't think management is truly managing this place. Improvements have not been forthcoming over time. Whatever leadership has trained/spent any time at this store, it is clear the employees aren't confident and pleasant when meeting the customer. No smile, no small talk -- these things go a long way in creating a first impression. Moreover, the people at the front do not look confident in their positions. They ARE quick to compensate angry customers but the amount of money walking out of this store has got to be high. Two weeks ago I witnessed a customer returning their food, and two others with their orders wrong. (Not including my own) (1) I have been FOUR times, and FOUR times, my order is wrong. Sometimes, it's so completely wrong, that I am baffled as to how they somehow thought that my order of a brisket sandwich was a Pastrami. It's as if no one pays attention to the customer. Today - after making myself VERY clear that I wanted no onions and no pickles on my sandwich, I came home and sure enough - pickles. There is just NO excuse for this. None. (2) Quality: I had to bring a sandwich back there two weeks ago because the bread was so stale and clearly not good. I think I know what happened, having been in the fast food industry myself. I suspect that the bread they were using came from a package that had been torn open, allowing air to get inside the plastic. But the bread was rock-hard. I didn't toast my sandwich so I was surprised and thought at first that it was indeed toasted. But it turned out that it was just horribly stale bread. How can this happen? If the management hasn't trained the food prep people, these things happen. The people preparing the food should be able to ''Self-Police'' the food. If they see that bread is moldy, meat isn't stored at proper temperatures, etc., or anything else that would make for a less than optimal experience - they should be empowered to get fresh bread. It looks like Schlotzky's is trying to penny-pinch and they are letting food walk out of the door in compensated meals. Wouldn't it be easier to just get the order RIGHT to begin with? (3) Cleanliness: Customers have a direct view into a part of the kitchen. Today I saw a piece of lettuce on the floor that had clearly been stepped on repeatedly and not one person working back there thought to pick it up. The place has gotten much better about these things but just check out the floor in the back to make your own determination. (4) Price: I ordered a LARGE Brisket sandwich by itself. (No attempt to try to sell me on the meal deal) But it caught my attention when the employee informed me that my ONE sandwich was ALL of $14.99 ! Sure enough, that's got to be the most expensive sandwich I have ever seen. I decided to go with the $7.99 MEDIUM sandwich was almost the same size! Who is setting these ridiculous prices? In the end, people are willing to support Austin based companies but they really have got to be better than this. The people who work at the Stripes could teach the entire staff at Scholotky's how to greet people, thank them for their order, and above all, simply being a customer advocate. One of the worse Schlotzskys ever. Went through the drive through because of the Coronavirus. Took so long that some people gave up, and this is not an easy drive through to get out of. The guy in front of us gave up and has to take his trailer through the car wash. Well, we are patient people. Very difficult to understand the person taking our order because the volume was so low and she kept talking to herself. We ordered two small number two combos with large unsweetened tea and sour cream and onion chips. This is six items in total. Well, after inspecting our order, the chips were cracked pepper chips. We got those exchanged before we drive off. The teas were sweet instead of unsweet so they immediately went into the drain. The sandwiches were medium instead of small. If you ever eat at Schlotzskys you know this could be an issue because their sandwiches are big. Well, six items and they got zero correct. The incorrect items we ended up paying for and wasting our time and money. Next time we drive somewhere else. read more

I was having a tough morning when a routine installation turned into a fabrication job. I stopped in at Schlotzsky's to get into some air conditioning and enjoy my favorites there: Grilled Chicken Pesto Pizza and Raspberry Tea. They were somewhat busy so we sat down to enjoy the tea and wait for our order. A lady (who later claimed to be a manager) brought my partner her sandwich and told me that they had run out of pizza shells. I told her I was really frustrated about that and that and I would be looking at a significant additional wait if I ordered a sandwich to replace my missing pizza. She decided she didn't want to deal with me and said she would just refund my part of the order and quickly left. She didn't offer to comp a sandwich or even to rush one for me. It seems managers are so concerned about spoilage costs that they just don't care about customer complains about being out of stock of an ingredient to make a menu item. I normally eat at this locate at least two times per month, but I vow not to eat at this location for at least three months. Schlotzsky's made my tough day worse and that's not what you want when you go out to eat. read more

This is the particular location is the worst fast food/sandwich shop I have EVER been to in my life. The last time I went here back in April of '16, we literally had to wait 30 minutes to get our order then my sandwich was wrong. Yesterday, we decided to give it a try again. We parked, went into order and no one was there at the counter. We waited 3 MINUTES at the order counter and no one ever came. I could hear and see employees laughing and joking around in the back, so why they weren't interested in taking our order, I have no idea. It seems like they employ and bunch a high schoolers who don't give a rats ass about anything. This particular location needs to get its shit together, or they won't be there much longer. We've stopped going here completely. It's so close to our house so we wanted to give it a fair chance. We have been multiple times over the past year and every time something has been wrong. Either it took 10-15 mins to get our food with nobody in front of us, or the order was wrong. They're also sloppy with the pickles and we have gotten home with a completely pickle juice soaked bag multiple times. They employ a lot of high school kids too. Which isn't always a problem but these kids seem like slackers. A couple times they have closed 30-45 minutes early. Then they stare at you from the window while you drive away. The food is alright but the problem is that the law of diminishing returns always kicks in before I am halfway through my sandwich.

Absolutely a NO. First we were greeted with irritation, like we were an inconvenience to the employee, which I addressed immediately. Then when bringing my oder out my child's sliced apples hit the floor, I put the container which had one slice that didn't fall out in front of me. The employee picked up the other slices off the floor and then grabbed the container which held the one good slice and proceeded to the back. I assumed we were getting a fresh apple slice, but instead the apple that hit the floor was washed off and put back into the original container. When she put it down I stared at the saturated apple and water deposits on the inside of the container. I told my husband to throw it away. Once he got his order, the soup was so hot from being microwaved for too long, that I could smell the plastic from the bowl in every bite of soup. I was a large restaurant manager/ kitchen manager for 20 years. I understand busy and being short staffed. That is absolutely no excuse for the service we endured today. read more

My dine in order at 12:45 in the afternoon was prepared exactly as any other location and didn't take any time to arrive at my table. This place is clean, has great staff. And really enjoy the small dining area with tvs. They always cater to ingredients. Always courteous. The one reason I'm not getting 5 stars is that for a sandwich they can be downright expensive here.
