I don't do a lot of "chain" reviews, because you should kind of know what to expect, but I'm doing one of this BJ's because wholly cow is the service amazing! I don't know if they pay more, or if it's just a really great working environment, but we've had four different wait staff now and they have all been above and beyond awesome. The food is pretty good, there is a lot of variety on the menu, and everything has been decent. I think the overcharge a fair bit for what it is, which is why I docked a star. That said I've never been disappointed, and the vibes are so pleasant that it's worth paying a smidge extra. Pizza is a very safe bet. Burgers are also consistently good. I'd mostly stay away from the pasta dishes. What really stands out about the service is how genuine everyone is. It's NOT giving "try hard, over stimulating, fake it for the tip." It's more in line with "I genuinely enjoy working here, and I'm having a good day, so I'm going to be nice and friendly and take good care of my tables." Complimentary, but not flattery. Funny, but not cringey. Attentive, but not hanging out at your table for 20 minutes. If skim through the lower reviews you'll mostly see people saying it's overpriced, or yapping about things that have nothing to do with the food or service and are bizzare to expect from a chain. So go in knowing what to expect, that your paying a little more for dope service, and you'll be a happy camper. read more

I tend to drop in on Tuesdays because it's 1/2 price wine night! I bring my computer and get caught up on some work. There is a new menu item and it's decent: Buffalo Sliders. It comes with four sliders. I like the coleslaw or whatever was crunchy on there! ;) I ate two for dinner and kept the other two for lunch the next day. I have only done here and sat at the bar. WOW NEVER IN MY LIFE..... Shocked (in a bad way) by my experience. Dined here and realized a piece of my jewelry had fallen on the floor. I called within an hour of getting home and they found it and told me it would be set aside so I could come pick it up. A few days later I went to pick it up and I was asked to wait a half hour for a manager to arrive. An hour after I arrived I inquired - apparently they had put my bracelet in the safe but now it was gone. Manager Manny was very nice and said he was the one who had found it and stored it in the safe and the accountant saw it the next morning and he was flabbergasted by where it could have gone. Female bartender who had taken care of us and was there this day was also very nice and gave great service. Manny said he would circle around to all management and they'd be in touch. He gave me a gift card as a thank you for my patience for waiting an hour so I was still on board with BJ's Sunset Valley despite being grossed out that someone (obviously) took my bracelet. This is where it gets even worse. GM Manager Leslie called and left a voicemail for me - no where in her 40 second vm did she empathize or apologize. She just stated facts that they were looking and she never saw it and blah blah blah. I called her back and she started explaining the same stuff and how Manny didn't follow protocol and this and that. AGAIN NO SIMPLE APOLOGY or reflective listening skills or empathy for my frustration and disappointment . I've managed fine dining restaurants in Manhattan and a high end spa in Austin - the FIRST THING I would have done was take accountability for this inexcusable fact (that' someone obviously took it) and APOLOGIZE. Managers are supposed to smooth things over and take responsibility, etc. I don't care WHY it happened, I care THAT it happened. When I brought up my disappointment in her lack of apology we ended up talking over each other. I asked what she was going to do to make this right and she said she'd be in touch with their "retention" department for a "courtesy card." You can keep it Leslie, thanks to you I will never step foot in there again. Shameful. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch / happy hour. We pretty much got the whole happy hour menu ( mozzarella sticks, spinach dip, chicken potstickers, beers ), in addition to 2 pazookie meal deals. Plenty of food. It took a bit for the food to come out compared to other BJs we've gone to and they weren't very busy but we weren't in a rush. Our waiter was nice and attentive. We ordered our dinner and after a while our wait Bryan O comes up and tells us that someone else got our order and that we would have to wait, but he said of course they would comp the meal because of the wait. Turned out only one of our meals was given away to someone else and I got to watch my girlfriend eat half of her meal before I got mine. When the check arrived it had my girlfriend's salad, my prime rib, another prime rib and that second prime rib removed. We brought up the fact that the full meal was charged and Bryan mentioned that the second prime rib was removed. I said "well I hope so, cause we never ordered a second prime rib." Then he told us that he could not comp the meal cause it was too much. So my girlfriend told him maybe he should have checked before he told us he would comp the meal. He just said "yeah, sorry" I got to just watch my girlfriend eat the first half of her meal and she got to just sit there and watch me eat the second half of mine. Haven't been to a BJs in forever. Sat at the bar and they weren't busy at all. The bar had several empty place settings that needed to be cleared as the diners had departed. July was the bartender and she was great. Very attentive and friendly. I got a sweet tea and its was delicious, got a refill and one to go! The potstickers, fried which were a bit disappointed as the top dough part was crisp however the bottoms and sides weren't. They could have used a few more in the fryer to get crisp all around. However they were tasty. Got the cherry chipotle salmon which was also good. A couple of spicy points but overall very good. read more

I had never been to BJ's in my life, and in fact, every time my boyfriend and I see a commercial, we laugh because they're pretty cheesy. We decided to give it a go and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's definitely not 4-star or 5-star worthy because it is after all a sorta big box place and the food isn't homemade or housemade. But, with that said, the food we had was ok. Not amazing and not terrible. I would probably check them out again if in the area and not wanting to make a decision on where to eat. I have to say that Pizookie dessert could be their crowning jewel. Who doesn't love a warm cookie topped with ice cream? The salted caramel version is pretty tasty. The Pizookie Meal Deal is pretty sweet, under $15. I had the smashburger with fries and of course, the Pizookie I just mentioned. Service was adequate. read more

BJ's is a complete waste of time to visit. This location specifically has always had terrible service, with incredibly rude and incompetent staff. Today, the front desk made a fuss about having a table of 9 even though they didn't close for another hour and we were only ordering desserts. After finally being seated while receiving lots of annoyed sighs, we are informed they are out of vanilla ice cream as a whole and despite there being another vanilla with blue dye in it, we are not allowed to have that. The staff was visibly upset at us, rude, and not able to do the simple task of replacing the regular vanilla ice cream (which they were out of) with blue vanilla ice cream. Another time, my family and I spent over an hour waiting for our food in a vacant restaurant. I have also been given the wrong order numerous times. Don't waste your time. read more

Came here with my team for our holiday party. I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to order so I asked my waiter what people ordered more. He was clueless. Then I asked if the shrimp could be fried for my tacos and he didn't know if it could be done. So I went ahead and got the fried mahi mahi tacos. They came out alright. There were some other servers who brought out food for us and they were confused too, perhaps confusing some of our plates with another table's. Then when we ordered desserts, our waiter got very confused on what we wanted and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times. For dessert I did get a mini Dubai Chocolate Pizookie and it was good though. When the bill came out, there were items on there from another table in addition to the ones my table ordered. 3.5 My husband and I decided to meet up with some friends for dinner at BJ's Restaurant & Brew House. We drove up, parked and went in. The Restaurant is big and bright with lots of seating. Luckily our friends were already seated so we sat down and began socializing. Shortly after we joined our friends the waitress came over to take our drink order. She was friendly and took care of us throughout our meal I just wished she would have come around a little more often for drink refills. When the waitress came to take our order I already new what I wanted because I previewed the menu before getting there. My husband and I decided to share the Chip and Dip Trio for an appetizer. For my main dish I ordered the BJ'S Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich with a side of Onion Rings. My husband and I finished our meal with a Brownie Pizookie. The Chip and Dip Trio was okay. It came with tortilla chips that were crispy with a little salt. I think for the amount of dip you get you need a bigger platter with more chips. The Dips were listed as Guacamole which was decent, Queso that really didn't have much flavor, and the Spinach Artichoke Dip which was decent but had little flavor. It was an okay appetizer that we shared. The BJ's Classic Crispy Chicken Sandwich was also okay. The menu listed it as Crispy Fried Chicken with Honey Mustard, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Dill Pickles. I was looking forward to this sandwich but it was so tasteless. They forgot to add the Honey Mustard which I think would have made the sandwich tastier. The actual Fried Chicken was good. It was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were fresh. Luckily the sandwich came with a side of Coleslaw. I tried it and it was good so I added it to my sandwich for flavor. I ordered my sandwich with a side of Onion Rings. They were good. Crispy on the exterior and the onion had a slight sweet flavor. I dipped my onion rings in ketchup for added flavor but you could probably eat them without it. I was happy that they weren't greasy. Lastly my husband and I shared a Brownie Pizookie. It was the best part of the meal. The brownie was hot and moist and the ice cream was drizzled with chocolate syrup. The ice cream melted quickly as we ate it with the brownie. The whipped cream was smooth and the nuts added texture to this sweet treat. The cherry on top was a plus for me as I like cherries. Overall it was an okay place to eat. The restaurant is clean and bright, the service was decent and the food is okay. Not sure if we'll return but it was an okay place to meet up with friends. read more

I had never been to BJs before but my daughter got a reward for a pizookie from this place for a reading accomplishment at a school. For those of you who don't know what a pizookie is, it's a huge warm cookie made in a skillet and topped with ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. I order burgers for myself and my daughter and Mac and cheese and fruit for my other daughter. The burgers tasted great, the fries were cooked nicely and super tasty. My daughter didn't like how the burger was made (that was on me, she doesn't like extras on her burger because she is just a kid) and our server Cameron fixed us up right away with no hesitation, making sure our meal was exactly the way we liked. She was very nice about it. This is service I haven't received in Austin, probably ever, and I would definitely recommend this casual dining for just about anyone. It was very kid friendly but also easily a date spot or a place to go watch a game with friends. read more

Very Disappointing- Arrived after 9:00 PM on a quiet evening. Placed orders, appetizers arrived promptly but entrees served about 5 minutes later, much too soon to enjoy the appetizers. Ordered a "Smashburger", emphasized that I wanted onion on the burger, but no onion served. Asked for onion and waited, and waited, and decided burger & fries were almost too cool to enjoy with or without onion so ate the burger anyway. The onions that eventually showed up were limp & tasteless. No refills offered on drinks, asked for refills & had another long wait for that. Not going back. read more

This place has been a go-to for us since it opened because of the convenience, atmosphere and large menu. However, it has declined over the years, and our most recent visit further supported this opinion. It was Saturday night and not busy- not a good sign in Austin. It was short-staffed and the young woman knew nothing about the beers we were asking about. It made sense when she finally explained she was under 21, but it would have been helpful if this had been shared up front. The Prime Rib Special we ordered came out before the accompanying salad. We had to wait til the server came back out to let her know, and it then took awhile to get our salads. By then our Prime Rib was cold, so we had to ask that the food be kept warm while we ate our salad. We were then charged for the Pazookie that was included with the Special, so that had to be backed off the bill. Then we had to wait awhile for the Pazookie. This is in a restaurant with plenty of empty seats, mind you. We will probably come back again because of the convenience and the food isn't bad, but will continue to hold low expectations. read more

As always, this BJs is kept up well. It is always clean - parking lot, inside, bathroom, everywhere. It is nice to visit. The service is normally always good. This evening it was superb. Our server was Robbie. He was on top of his game. He clearly enjoyed his job and was always checking on us ensuring we did not need anything and that our meal was prepared to perfection. The food choices for us included a Filet Mignon and a Classic Rib-Eye. The filet mignon was served with a salad and their white cheddar mash potatoes which are so tasty. We were not absolute fans of the sauce on the steak, but it was good none-the-less. No doubt we would order it again, but probably ask for the sauce on the side. The salad was large enough to be shared by two. It was fresh and crispy. The rib-eye was excellent. It is a 14oz. Too much to eat at one time, but so good. This was served with asparagus. Of course you have a choice of sides. Both steak and asparagus are so tasty. BUT you have to leave room for the purpose of the visit - Pizookie. A salted caramel Pizookie - yum, so good. My mouth waters as I write about. Two scoops of vanilla ice cream with plenty of caramel squirted onto it. So delicious. Then since it was mother's day weekend, BJs gifted us with a wine glass each and some coupons. What a lovely touch. Great waiter, food, and gift! read more

We have eaten at this BJ's from time to time, and frankly, we have not had a bad experience in this restaurant. For this visit, we chose a steak wedge salad, clam chowder soup in a sourdough bread bowl, and a tomato-mozzarella salad. All of the items came out together, and all were delicious. The steak had a sauce, which I dont remember the name, which was very tasty. While dining you can also watch a variety of TV shows - typically sports related. Our server was extremely attentive, and all-in-all a very good experience. Definitely would dine here again. read more

The service was very sub par, I don't expect the world but being greeted promptly is expected it took around 5 minutes for us ti be greeted which would be okay if the restaurant was busy it was not. We did get our food promptly however while we were still actively eat a buser came around twice to ask if he can take tray. Like come on you see us chewing what do you think? and then when we were actually done he was know where to be found. Also the wings were over salted to add insult to injury . Our sever also disappeared, when it came time to pay he was know where to be found and you do pay via QR code but the gift cards I had don't work to pay online. So we had to wait around 15 minutes after we're done eating and ready to pay just waiting for our server. To me of the server had came during our last bites and asked how we're going to pay cash or card I could've explained and the entire experience could've been better. I don't like having to look around for my server, this was also an important lunch my brother is graduating college and I wanted to celebrate him. Overall I don't know if I'll be back to this specific location. 5/10 read more

BJ's and I have a bit of a love-hate relationship. It's a great week day resturant to go with friends becuase the vibes are pretty chill. I love their $13 meal deals, they're super affordable and usually fill me up. The chicken parm is one of my favorites, it's super cheesy and chicken is usally pretty tender. What keeps me coming back are their pizookies for dessert. I am usually basic and get the original chocolate chip with vanilla ice cream, but it's always so good. While the food is usually good, the service is usually spotty. It's always very slow and during my last visit took about 30 minutes just to get someone to take our order. Despite the slow service, I keep coming back because the deals and food are hard to beat. Hopefully, the service improves next time because I will be back for half off pizookie Tuesdays! read more

While the BJ's Restaurant's food are great. Would be nice to have some area of brightness light for the low vision people or legally blind. It's really hard to see in dim places. I always asked for sitting by the window during the day time but in most cases full sitting or reserved seating for events. For the most part watch out for the blonde lady who seats you. No customer service. No greeting with a smile like hey how y'all doing how can I help you? Or whatever need be. Sure we all have our bad days but don't need to put it on the customer. She needs to be trained again. Her customer service stinks. The waitress no complaints there. She's good so far. read more
