I feel like they put an excessive amount of icing on my classic roll. I literally had to use a paper towel to drain some of it. This was way too much..

My family and I decided to stop by this Schlotzsky's on our way to visit the University of Houston. I was surprised that even though it was mid morning I was still able to order some lunch. I ordered a small Turkey Avocado Sandwich which comes with turkey, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and lite mayo on a sourdough bun. I ordered my sandwich with Mustard instead of Mayonnaise and added bacon. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. We picked up our order at around 10:00 AM and had no issues. We walked into the restaurant and saw the person working behind the counter. My husband told her my name and we were given our food. The restaurant was bright and clean with plenty of places to sit. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it was worth a mention. My sandwich was good. It had plenty of turkey and I could taste the freshness of the other ingredients. The chocolate chip cookie had lots of chocolate chips and was sweet. Overall the whole process was convenient, easy and fast.

This schlotzskys location is always excellent, consistent on the service and consistent on the food. Sandwiches, soups and pizzas, they also offer Cinnabon products. The chicken bacon smoke cheesy with jalapeño chips is my go to...soooooo good! I've met the owner and he's a great guy...he has hired two of our own kids and he works well with local kids in school, he is very flexible with their schedules. Good people usually equals good foods!

Over priced food, don't get me wrong the food is great! Price is ridiculous!

I was in the mood for a good old American Schlotzsky's ham and cheese original. Looked online and they don't have them on the menu, looked on the app and they don't have them so I had to jump through hoops to find their telephone number. Finally got through to a rep onsite and they informed me they do still have the ham and cheese original. Got my lazy butt up and headed to Schlotzsky's. Upon ordering a medium ham and cheese original and the drink and chips I was astonished by the almost $15 price for a medium sandwich $7.99 and the $3.30 for a bag of chips and a medium drink. Now me being a glutton for punishment that I am, I also ordered a Cinnabon classic roll $4.99 and an additional frosting cup $0.99...total cost for lunch $18.69...but wait. I wanted some Caesar dressing for my sandwich, did I get a "Yes sir we'll put it on your sandwich", nope I got a "we sell it on the side for $0.27 each cup". Now lunch for a ham sandwich, Cinnabon, bag of chips and a medium drink...$19.23 I'm going to have to get another job to eat at Schlotzsky's...I wonder if they're hiring.... Oh side note, food was great and staff was super pleasant and helpful...the restaurant was clean and since putting in the new roof, temperature was decent. One star is for price alone.

Elite Week at Portillo's!…read more Stopped by Portillo's in Katy for Elite Week, and of course we had to see what the hype was about! We went with the burgers, fries, and Dr Pepper floats. Baby, that burger was GOOD! It had that delicious flame-broiled flavor that I love, and the fries were cooked perfectly. Hot, crispy, and exactly how fries are supposed to be! Now...the Dr Pepper float? It didn't quite do it for me. It was way too thick, even after we asked for it to be made a little looser, and it was also much sweeter than I expected. I love a sweet treat, but this one was a little too sweet for me. But the burger and fries definitely saved the day! I'll absolutely be back because there are several other things on the menu I want to try. Burger: Fries: Dr Pepper Float: Not for me! Overall, a good first visit, and I'm looking forward to round two!

We ordered a hotdog, polish sausage, Italian beef sandwich, french fries, queso, dr. Pepper shake. The hotdog, polish sausage, french fries, and queso were really good. They pushed the Dr Pepper shake on me (I really wanted the chocolate cake shake). I took three sips of the shake because I really wanted to like it (I like Dr Pepper and I like ice cream) but I didn't want to torture myself so I threw it away. The tables were a tad greasy but the restrooms were clean. I would come back for the hotdog and Polish Sausage!!!!

While visiting family in Houston we were excited to come across a "real" Mexican (as opposed to Tex-Mex...iykyk) taco shop. As soon as you walk in and see the Tijuana and Baja Mexico signs and decor you know you're in the right place. There's an open kitchen, allowing you to watch your carne being grilled on the open-flame grill. That charged meat smell is heavenly! Their guac is chunky and simple (nothing too fancy), hot sauces are tasty (and they have a kick!), tortillas are thin but strong -- holding the goods in just right. It's also nice that they have complimentary tasty, crispy pork rinds -- as opposed to the standard chips & salsa. Portions are ample! They definitely don't skimp -- tons of meat and guac in their tacos and huge, meaty burritos! Prices are fair, especially for what you get! Their dining room is a tad small, but it's very clean and the a/c is good...there's also a nice patio outside. Service was swift and friendly. Food was good. A/C was poppin'. Parking was plentiful. All in all I have to admit that Tacos Frontera comes as close to good San Diego Mexican food as you can get...they would definitely be able to hold their own in San Diego!

The price to food ratio is beyond reasonable, especially when put up against fast food restaurants (or just many restaurants for that matter) and can serve as a second or even third meal (assuming you don't get lost in the flavor) The staff have always been nice, so no complaints there The only complaint is that it can take a while for your order to be made, especially at peak times. Dining in is hard due to the lack of available seating (all first come, first serve), parking is very limited and you may need to park on the other side of the shopping complex. Last I ordered, there doesn't seem to be a clear way to order ahead Regardless, we still come here often and always have enjoyed the food

I especially love their Signature Garlic Herb bread. It's toasted perfectly where the outside has a slight crisp around the edges and the inside is soft and fluffy. It's really GOOD bread. There's the Nug (4"), Pinner (8"), and the largest size is the Blunt (12"). I ordered the Nug. It's just the right size to satisfy my appetite without leaving me feeling heavy afterward. I also love and truly appreciate the diverse vegetarian options on the menu. They're not just the basic boring raw veggies combinations either. It's super casual and laid back inside. Love their fun decorations. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a bar in the back with a large TV, allowing you to enjoy sports while sipping on a cold beer or cocktail. You can come here for dinner or lunch. Today we got the classic burger and a build your own sandwich. The serving sizes were hefty and we definitely left with a happy tummy. The food was fresh and high quality. The wait staff was accommodating and so friendly. We even got to speak with the manager who made us feel like family. There was a large number of pies to select from which honestly was the toughest part of the whole experience. We settled with the key lime pie which was such a great choice but will definitely be back to taste the other types of pies. Lastly, this spot was bustling. We came around the lunch rush so there was a line. However, the line went quick and the tables flipped pretty quickly. We didn't have an issue finding a table and the wait staff was on top of it. I finally walked the 4 feet to the register to get the young man's attention and let him know we would like ice cream and a pie. He seemed a little put out at first but, in the end was pleasant to deal with. Nice place worth trying. Different Kinds of Cheesesteaks--This One Deserves Its Own Lane…read more I think people really need to acknowledge that there are different types of cheesesteaks. Not all of them are made to be compared--some are just totally different styles, and that's not a bad thing. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while after seeing the debates about who has the best cheesesteak in Houston. The only thing that held me back was the location. I finally made the trip--and I'm glad I did. First off: customer service. Let's be real--food trucks sometimes don't deliver on this, but that was not the case here. Super friendly and attentive. It made a big difference. What I tried: * Chicken cheesesteak with shrimp - Delicious. Messy, cheesy, and indulgent. If you're someone who likes your cheesesteaks loaded with toppings like lettuce or tomato, this might not be your thing. But if you're into a bold, no-frills kind of sub? You'll love it. * Philly steak eggroll - Fire. * Fries - These were wild. Battered like fried chicken, perfectly crispy. I might honestly come back just for the fries. * Corned beef - Served Midwest-style, and the meat was on point. Tender and flavorful. Bottom line: I really enjoyed this place. It's not trying to be like everyone else--and that's exactly why it works. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd absolutely return.
