Absolutely marvelous food. One can choose from a wide variety of German food or hamburger and fries if the kids are worried about the unique food. They do accept credit & debit cards. My phone couldn't find WiFi, but there are plugs available (without USB ports) if one needs to charge one's phone. It seats around 30 diners. Since it is located in a converted house built before ADA guidelines, there are steps at the front entrance, no lever handles on doors or bathroom faucets & no grab bars near the front steps or toilet. The small sign near the road hangs on a 4 inch white PVC pipe frame which stands out in the more rural area. We will most certainly be returning multiple times. read more

Found this place on yelp by accident and must say pleasantly surprised. The food was great and fairly priced and the people who waited on me (owners?) were from Germany. Had a pork schnitzel I think and came with a plentiful amount of food, but I also saw some fries with gravy on the menu and that was reminiscent of jager fries, which are fries with a light brown mushroom gravy, and the ones ordered were just those! Great! Only thing would've liked is more gravy and same amount of mushrooms. Made mistake ordering those fries as couldn't finish everything though I tried. It surprised me as this restaurant is in an old house and didn't look the part at all. The ceiling in dining room had a piece of plaster missing and dining areas seemed little run down but not too bad. The floor squeaked too. Will definitely come back next time am in town and highly recommend you find way to this place! Great food! read more

Probably the highlight of our evening was talking with the cook, Ursula. She is a wonderful German immigrant and was so welcoming to us. Some of the best German food we've ever had. The potato salad was excellent from flavor to texture. The sauerkrauts were both delicious (we especially enjoyed the deliciously spiced red one). Every one of the sausages were delicious and the schnitzel was incredible (the curry sausage was amazing due to the strong holiday season like spices they used). Great German food! Very sweet owner and neat little house off the road. Had the jager schnitzel, mmmmmmm it was soooooo good! The potato salad was awesome and the warm red cabbage was excellent. Seriously the whole plate was perfect for me. Price was reasonable as well. Also had the weiss sausage with pretzel. That was good also. If I lived closer I would definitely go try some other things. Excellent German cuisine! I had the Rueben with German potatoe salad on the side. My Hubby enjoyed a Jagger Schnitzel with German potatoe salad and cucumber salad. We ate every bite and took home a slice of Black Forest Cake. Saving the cake for later tonight. I even enjoyed the ice tea. Cannot say enough about the taste, appearance and quantity of food. We were driving through on IH-10 and wanted to stop someplace close to the interstate, but not the typical fast food location. This was beyond perfect! It's about 2mi down Main Street there's only about 2-3 four tops 3 two tops in one room and a separate room for large groups. It's a quaint little house where the owner & her son are the staff so you have wonderful service and phenomenal German food! We live almost 4 1/2 hours away but I'd be willing to drive back just for the potato salad w/ bacon, also the cucumber salad. Oh yeah and the fresh jaeger schnitzel made to order too!! This restaurant is a hidden gem!! Just outside downtown Vidor, TX on Main St. Authentic German food made from scratch! Monica and her son, David, took good care of us. Very friendly and nice people. We could hear her pounding out the fresh pork for our schnitzels. She was raised in Germany and the food was the best German food I've ever had. I've eaten German food in Fredericksburg, New Braunfels and Austin, TX. This beats anything I've found in those cities. Delicious!! I had the Jaeger Schnitzel and my wife had the Hawaiian Schnitzel. My jaeger schnitzel had delicious brown mushroom gravy on top. The sides were red cabbage and German potato salad. Very delicious also! Oh! And the desserts were wonderful. Also homemade. Working in the area a noticed this restaurant on yelp, I was told by a nearby hotel manager that the food was good. I had the Wiener Schnitzel with German Potato salad and warm red cabbage. We stumbled on this place while traveling! Which the cuisine brought us right back to an Authentic Bavarian Styled Dinner, in Germany! The Kindest People operate this Wonderful Diner! This place is a must! Everything I tried was amazing and the portions were huge! I ordered the Schnitzel Cordon Bleu dinner and it was very delicious! It was stuffed with lots of Swiss cheese and ham. (FYI: Don't freak out about the toothpicks, they're used to hold the ham, cheese & pork together.) All the Schnitzel dinners come with potato salad and warm red cabbage and both of them are really good. The Jager Schnitzel was really good too, the mushroom sauce was very tasty. The owner makes everything fresh (and doesn't freeze stuff) and her food is so good that they only had one Bratwurst left and they were out of pretzels. My sister ordered the last Bratwurst and she said it was really good. That's ok because now we HAVE to come back to try some of their sausages and pretzels. For dessert we ordered a piece of the Black Forest Cake, the portion was big just like everything else and of course it was also delicious. The owner Monica was really sweet and her twin teenagers were super nice and attentive. I will definitely be stopping here again on my way to Houston because the Goulash and the Sauerbraten (German Pot Roast) are probably delicious just like everything else. read more

It's in the house, looks like a hole in the wall type of place, but boy oh boy is the food good! Cooked authentically by German lady. She's from the Frankfort area of Germany. We left feeling like we've been hanging with an old friend that fed us! All her sausage is made by German guy in Minnesota! Nothing instant about her food!
