WORST grocery chain in St Louis. This particular location is consistent in being filthy, trying to sell expired food (check the dates on everything), and produce that looks like it fell off the trash truck as it was leaving Dierbergs. I agree with everybody else this is a really bad store to go to it has a very small parking lot. I had to park in the side lot becouse it was packed. and there's a woman that stands at the self checkout and her only job is to make sure that you're doing what you're supposed to do at the register. I went in to spend my spare change and I guess I was taking too long to put the change in machine so she came up and said do you need help and I stopped and looked at her and I said I got this I'm just putting change in a machine. She hoovers around you like your going to set off an alarm or somthing. So annoying. Ill shop in yhe store i work at and know everyone. read more

This Schnuck's is in my former hood. I was passing through the other day and needed a couple of things so I stopped in. Why would I choose this one over Hampton Village? Good question... It's much smaller so it's easier to get in and get out. You're not going to take your life in your hands walking through this parking lot the way you would at Hampton Village. It pales in comparison to a new West County Schucks but you know what? Sometimes nostalgia is nice. read more

Customer service is horrible at this location, it has really went down over the past years. And also it isn't a safe store. Their is alot of crime that goes on around there! A customer can't be safe on their parking lot. It got so bad they had to install a sky cop camera but that's not going to help at the moment when your being attacked and don't count on anyone coming out to help, they will stand inside and watch. Shop here if you enjoy total incompetence. Just had a sleezy looking person in front of me in line (full cart so they'd been in the store a while) with a revolver clearly displayed in the waistband of his shorts. What does your security do? Took 10 minutes for your checker to figure out a $1 vendor coupon for a total impulse buy(booklet attached to YOUR display until I went back to removed it) had expired 2 months ago. Meanwhile the line of people behind me continued getting longer and longer. This store has incorrect prices everytime I shop, most notably on sweet onions for the last 3 weeks. I've advised multiple employees about this (all claim "they'll look into it") well, IT'S STILL INCORRECT. This place is a joke. Shop at Dierbergs- at least their employees are empowered to make decisions in favor of the customer AND if an item rings incorrectly you get it free. read more

This is the WORST Schnucks in the South City area. Here is why you should go a little farther to the Hampton Village Schnucks instead. Upon entering the employees will heckle you if you don't make a right and go through their marketing trap of walking through the entire store to find things. If you try to go left and walk past the customer service center or through the self checkouts be prepared for someone to stop you and tell you to enter the other direction. If you refuse they become extremely rude. I wasn't aware there was a traffic policy at the grocery store. The employees are downright rude and in a bad mood all of the time. Its the kind of place you can tell everyone hates working there. This morning they had the self checkout lanes open and the machines were on and said Lane Open. I started scanning my items and a blonde lady immediately came over and said "You can't check out here you have to wait in line", when I told her that they shouldn't open the machines if we aren't supposed to use them I received a rude "all customers know those aren't open until 7am". So at 6:15am I waited in line for two items, for 20 minutes. All the while the self checkout machines were ready to go, they just didn't have an employee to stand there and supervise. The meat is often expired before they put the 25% off tags on it, and make sure you keep a close eye on the milk and bread dates - they are never very fresh. The store is always dirty, looks like it is right out of the late 80's (looks just like the Waterloo IL store used to 20 years ago), the freezers are always breaking down and leaking. One night I went in there and they actually had the entire section roped off so no customers could go through it. You had to tell an employee what you wanted and where it was and they would go fetch it for you. Except they couldn't find the simplest of three items I needed. After this morning I will never go to this location again. We'll take our $4,000/year business to the Hampton Village location, where they keep it clean and know how to properly treat customers. read more

MEH. I am not the biggest fan of Schnucks anyway. But this one didn't strike my fancy at all. I went in bec it was on my way home. It could really use a refresh on the inside and probably a decent cleaning too. What struck me the most annoying was the employees. No one was helpful, no one was friendly and no one made eye contact with me! Not even the checker. Its a grocery store and they did have plenty in stock. So there is a plus! But I would only go back to this location if it was uber convenient. read more

Not one of my favorite places to shop but good if I need to run in and out really quick. I have to say the south part of the store where the produce section, deli, baked goods is massive and easy to navigate. It is the north end of the store where I have a problem. Walking through the liquor/soda section is almost like walking around a maze. The area is very narrow to get around and just seems uncomfortable if there is more than two people in the aisle, (or one person with a cart). I'm not sure why but it seems like everyone wants to congregate at the end of the rows to chat with someone they ran into at the store which makes moving from aisle to aisle also a bit of a hassle. Coming from the Arsenal store all the time this place definitely is different in layout and where things are located. I'm definitely out of my element when I shop here but if I just need to stop in for something quick after going to Target it works in a pinch. read more

Schnucks is one of the oldest grocery stores in St. Louis. This location appears to have been there for quite sometime, but has been kept up to date well. The parking lot is kind of small though, especially when busy on the weekends. Most staff is friendly. Make sure to bring your coupons. read more

Customer service has improved a great deal over the last 6 to 8 months. They actually treat you like a customer instead of a nuisance. Some works pay attention to you and if they see you perplexed, ask of they can help. Very pleased with the changes. read more

This store is always dirty and the staff are less than "the Friendliest Stores In Town." Be sure to check your food as the store is FULL of expired products on the shelves. I have turned in strawberries with mold all over them, soup stock that is past expiration , milk that is old and recently an entire CASE of Libby's green beans on the shelf that were SIX month past expiration. Baggers do not know how to bag and the store is full of workers that do little work but lots of attitude. So many people that are older are forced to shop at this store as it is close to him to walk to. Just use caution as the store is not the greatest. It has improvements in beauty in the past year but not in service, attitude or expired product. For my money drive a bit further north and go to Aldi's! read more

Wanted to grab potato salad and coleslaw from the prepack deli section this evening. Unfortunately most of the items are on the wrong shelf and several feet over from where they are appropriately priced. Who puts a case(6-12 packages) of coleslaw in a spot clearly labeled chicken salad (priced waaay more/lb). Apparently the same person who puts potato salad in the spot labeled cole slaw... These packages arent priced individually, just assumed to be half pound or more containers at the shelf labeled price per container. After wasting 5 minutes trying to figure out the price of what I wanted I finally said F' it. Do you employee complete idiots? Does anyone care about jobs anymore, union complacency? Lacakadssical management? I get fronting open spots- but this was clearly almost ALL product placed in incorrect locations with the expectation that someone else will fix it and completed disregard for customers knowing what is what. How tough is it to put coleslaw in the spot labeled and priced as coleslaw? Apparently pretty difficut. read more

I have sent in multiple comments at this store. I buy bagels EVERYDAY. I mainly but bagels with toppings such as Sesame or Poppysed bagels. I do not know why it is, but at this location when I buy bagels, ALL the toppings fall off compared to the other Schnucks locations. This store is closer to me but I have to go to the Loughborough or Hampton Village Schnucks just to get bagels where the toppings adhere to the bagel and not the plastic bag you put it in. I wish Schnucks would listen to my comments but they dont because nothing has changed in the 5 years that my husband and I moved back to STL city read more
