Drove by this place since 84', finally decided to try it out, at first I was a little turned off by the young staff, not friendly at all, they didn't have Italian rope sausage, I had to pre order, very odd and the display case was very dirty and down right nasty. I did get the polish sausage and a few other goodies since I was already there. The flavors of the meats are brilliant and the meat texture is awesome. I had driven past schreiner's for ages and not realized that there was a meat store attached to their facility. What a gem! Best place to see locovores and Valley chef's on a daily basis. I pick up lunch meet charcuterie of salami's and pepperoni's sliced to order. Sausages deliver a whole treat, with several choices ranging from breakfast (maple, fig, bacon) to dinner sausages and everything in between. Bring a cooler and cash! I'm repeatedly astounded at how many people in this city who claim to be in the "culinary know" have no idea what Schreiner's is. Besides the tremendous brown bag lunch special, which consists of any dog or sausage with chips and a soda for $5, Schreiner's is a great place to buy loaf meat, weiners, and sausages. Many chefs in town swear by their products and it's for good reason, they are some of the best around. I made some home made Sonoran Hot Dogs last night using Schreiner's hot dogs, and it was one of the best dogs I'd ever had. read more

No joke, I've probably driven by Schreiner's 500 hundred times over the last eight years, two of which years I lived blocks away! I always thought it was some closed up business. Thankfully Yelp comes thru again! Went there for their $5 brown bag lunch (choice of sausage, bag of chips, and a soda...they have coke and pepsi) and sat at table they had set up in a little grass area. So excited to find Schreiner's in Phoenix! My family visits the shop in La Crescenta, CA frequently and I thought it was the only one in existence. This shop is smaller and doesn't offer as many products but they have a good selection of meats and spreads. Today, we bought some Genoa Salami, Braunschweiger, and a German hot Dijon mustard. Everything was excellent and fresh! I'd highly recommend coming here especially if you like a quality deli meat or sausage. read more

So this was a little crazy. I live in Hawaii and spent a few days in AZ for business meeting. I checked yelp to see if it was possible that there might be a decent market with a good sausage selection. I mean, Phoenix isn't the place I think of for sausages. I recently spent time in Scotland and fell in love with Cumberland or banger sausages. I was delighted to find out that they had bangers! My taxi made a detour on the way back to the airport and I picked up 6 lbs of BANGERS. Once home I was able to make a Full English breakfast and the bangers were delicious! read more

So I've been here like a kazillion times, but never thought about posting a review for it. This place is sausage heaven! (crack all the jokes you want haha) I moved back to Cen. Pho about a year and a half ago and had always wanted to check this place out, but never did. I was instantly hooked, and have been a loyal customer ever since. They have tons of different types of sausages and dogs. Most come smoked or fresh. I'm a huge fan of their smoked Linguisa and their' Chorico. They also have these odds and ends mixed sausage-brat-hotdog skewers for like 2 bucks a pound,and I'm a real sucker for those! The prices are awesome, you can get out under $20 with a great mix of sausages and brats for the grill. Make this your Go-to spot for grilling this summer and trust me, you won't be disappointed! read more

I drove by this place countless times. Don't know why I didn't stop in the past. Now it's a destination! The Kielbasa was great, it reminded me of the stuff my Uncle used to make years ago. I had the fresh and the smoked, and loved them both. Also read a review that mentioned the chorizo, so I had to try that too. It was fantastic, great flavor and no grease! Stopped by to try the brown bag special. Got a Beer Hot with deli mustard, mayo and kraut. This was my first visit ever, the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The food came out quick, and my beer hot had that snap when I bit into it that you just can't find in a supermarket sausage. So incredibly good. Also picked up a pound of Andouille sausage for a batch of Jambalaya this weekend I'm making and I can't wait! read more

JUST GO! I can't say enough good things about this place. I am here at least once a week to get my weekly pork products. Almost everything is made in house and fresh with no preservatives. Believe me when I tell you they have the best tasting sausage anywhere!!! The chorizo is an absolute dream and do not leave with out some in your bag! Make sure to also try their fresh lunch meats as well, killer! If you go for sausage I highly recommend the smoked linguisa. If you live even close to or visit PHX you have to go! read more

Overall, I really like Schreiner's and I always try and stop by when I have appointments at the VA. I've enjoyed the wide variety of sausages they make and sell. However, the "Cajun Andouille" is NOT a real Cajun sausage (and neither is the boudin), they're good, just not what I grew up with. read more

I cannot add a lot to what everyone else has said. I do recommend the smoked pork chops, they are about 2 to a pound for 3/4 inch thick. I have never gotten anything here I haven't thought was wonderful. I am all about supporting local business first! I can't believe it took me over 13 years to finally visit Schreiner's after driving by it so many times and trying their sausage at various restaurants around the Valley! We stopped in yesterday and enjoyed the $5 brown bag lunch which includes a sausage sandwich, chips and a drink (soda or bottled water). We tried the bratwurst and the smoked italian...both quite tasty! We also took home a couple sausage kabobs and can't wait to enjoy those tomorrow night for dinner. We will definitely be back...and soon! read more

I spent half of my childhood in South Africa and developed a deep love of a South African sausage called boerewors. This sausage is extremely hard to find in the U.S.. After all of my sources dried up, I took to the internet and found that Schreiner's in Phoenix actually stock and sells this particular sausage:). I picked some boerewors earlier today and cooked it up on my braai (grill). Mmm! It was thick juicy and fabulous! Very highly recommended. Liver, head cheese, new york dogs, regular dogs, every kind of sausage you can imagine (along with every kind of mustard and horseradish you can imagine), even boudin, andouille, they have like 65 varieties. Schreiners is the real deal! The weiners, brats and sweet Italian sausages are as good as in Germany and Italy. I purchased a small sampling last week and they were so good that we are headed back this week to stock up on the same and to try some other items. There is definitely a reason that Phoenix-area restaurants who want to use local sausage come to these guys. My sister lives nearby and raves about this place, so we stopped in to pick up some stuff for the Cards game Thursday night. I tried a linguiça and a hot Italian sausage, and once her boyfriend boiled them in beer and then finished them on the grill they were the best sausages I have ever eaten! The guy that filled our order was very nice, and their prices are reasonable too - 6 huge assorted links and two bags of rolls (I recommend the pretzel rolls) came out to less than $20 and tasted like a million bucks! read more

If Ferris Bueller were trying to sneak his way into one of the finer lunch establishments in Phoenix, there is little question that he would pretend to be Mr. Schreiner, the sausage king of Phoenix. Giving them a 5 star review is preaching to the choir of essentially all the major restaurants in town that serve their product. But, to truly appreciate Schreiner's, you must go to their tiny little shop and engage your senses. I throw a party every year that is basically buying beer, buns, cole slaw, potato salad and mustard at Costco; then proceeding to Schreiner's to buy an obscene amount and variety of sausage to grill up. Buy some fat knockwursts and cheese brats to balance out the spicy beer hots and linguisa. Also buy some of all the other sausage because why the hell not? One of the cool places in Phoenix that deserves a look next time you're near 7th and Osborn. read more

Just came back from grabbing a brown bag lunch at this place. My dog was absolutely delicious - I got the smoked Italian along with kraut, onion, relish and ketchup. $5 is an extremely reasonable price considering you get a bag of chips and a can of pop too. They accept cash, cheque or debit card (minimum $10 on debit). You get a brown paper bag with a little order form to write on it then they hand it back to you over the counter when ready. The place is barely larger than my bathroom at home, basically enough room for about five customers to wait inside (with their backs pressed to the door) and a couple of benches to sit on outside (no tables, just seating), so this is definitely a grab and go place. Also about five cattycorner parking spaces. Loved the variety of sausage types they have on offer, great prices per pound on those as well. Will definitely be returning to pick up some sausage for fryups at home. read more
