Finally made it here after passing by forever, and it was worth the wait. My wife had the brisket and sausage and will review them on her own, but I tasted both and they were very good. I wanted to try the southwest chicken but they were out, so I tried the BBQ chicken instead. It was moist and flavorful, and the BBQ sauce was very good. I tried the "butter potatoes " which were a buttery flavorfest. Great food at a good price, nice little bar tucked in the back, nice outdoor seating area and the young man who took our meat order was very slick with the knife. My only wish would be that they had traditional 2 or 3 meat plates, as I love brisket, turkey, chicken and sausage and hate having to choose just one. read more

Schulze is underrated! The brisket is very tender and moist. I recommend the Mac and Cheese and Tater Tot Casserole for sides. Make sure to come hungry cause this place will hit thr spot! Food was great. Our experience was a little chaotic. Ordered a drink, no bartender at bar... wanted a drink while waiting in line unable to no bartenders. Tried to get a Diet Coke, line was running clear. Staff changed quickly which was nice to see!! Line for food was a good sign, and moved quickly. I ordered a turkey plate with buttered corn and pinto beans. Very good choice on my part. My husband ordered the 3 meat plate which consisted of brisket, 2 ribs and sausage. "Let there be meat" and meat there was, indeed. First, the turkey was NOT dry. It was incredibly juicy. The BBQ was Smokey and not overly sweet. The brisket, fire. Banana pudding, fire. We've been here twice now and both times we've shared the trinity platter and have had leftovers for both of us the next day. It's super nice inside and everyone has always been nice. This placed will be totally ranked top 50 by the next season. I went there at 11am and there was no line! They actually do 1-3 meat plates with 2 sides still!!! The brisket was absolutely phenomenal, the ribs were fantastic, and the sausage was on point with snap. They have a self serve island with pickled onions, reg onions, & pickles. Place looked clean. You must order, take a beeper, and wait for your beep. Unusual but ok. Got a pound of brisket, sliced turkey, loaded no meat baked potato, Mac and cheese. Banana pudding is prepackaged in a cup, too much whip cream as a filling to cut back on the real product. No choice in the matter. Brisket tasted like a roast with smoke flavor. Not overly seasoned. No bark. Turkey was ok. Mac and cheese is different, lighter, creamy but not cheesy. Very little cheese really. More like a creamy pasta dish. BBQ sauce tasted home made, thick and rich. This Place has "CARAZY," good BBQ brisket, chicken turkey & Unique sausage options they have a Cajun sausage & one with a Spanish/Mexican spin on it! The ribs are FANTASTIC melt in your mouth! On my trip back from Arizona I was traveling I-10 and was on my home stretch from just outside San Antonio to Nola. Sunday was actually my B-Day and since I was still in TX I def. wanted to eat some yummy comfort food. After gassing up I Yelped BBQ food. Schulze's popped up along with a few other choices, but after browsing their menu it was a quick YES! Their location was barely 2 miles away perfect! I pulled right into their parking lot which was huge. No prob. for my big 22ft. box truck. I parked and walked right in and the delicious aroma quickly hit me. Mmm it smelled so good. Their dining area was very open and not super busy today so I could walk right up to the counter to look at the menu and already prepared food. The guy behind the counter gave me some of the butt pieces of the brisket. Which aren't always the meatiest pieces, but they do have a lot seasoning flavor. I also ordered a few ribs, fried okra, potato salad, pickles and a delicious buttered roll. To drink I grabbed a Frostie Concord Grape Soda, very old school. As I was waiting for them to finish up my order a woman walked from inside the kitchen. My apologies I can't remember your name as I am writing this. She introduced herself as the owner. Nice, what are the chances. I told her the restaurant was beautiful and I couldn't wait to try my food. It was my first time in and I was just passing through and found their restaurant on yelp. She said this location was only a few months old and they had another location. Perfect for me! I said bye and off I went to finish my drive. I didn't eat right away. I stopped at a Buc'ees when I was ready to eat. The meat was soo tender on the ribs it just fell off as it should. I'm a sauce girl so I def. loved their BBQ sauce. I used it all up for both the ribs and brisket. I literally ate every bite. Pretty sure if I make a drive back this way I'll be visiting Schulze's again. read more

We met friends at Schulze's Pit Room while visiting Seguin in November. It is a newer restaurant in Seguin and it should do very well. It is big and bright inside and they have a large patio outside. You order your food right after you walk in and there is a bar in the back of the restaurant. Our food came out pretty quick. I really enjoyed the brisket, but didn't love the warm potato salad (you might). Because we were visiting with friends, I got distracted and only took one picture of our family and friends. Came here with my family after taking a quick little road trip up to Sequin on the recommendation of a friend. The food itself was pretty good and def had a real BBQ taste and feel. I am given them two start, I drove from San Antonio and picked up 1/2 pounds of lean brisket 1/2 pound of ribs and a link of sausage, also got green beans and potatoes salad also got some bread slices to put in the bag ( 30 mins later) after getting home the bread was semi hard, don't know how long they had the bread out, also no potatoes salad instead they give me beans which I did not order, the green beans had beacon that look like it's been in the freezer for a long time, smell bad, had to throw the whole think away, also ask for lean brisket and I got nothing but fat. I had heard good things from this place, will guess those people were wrong. Never going back, I would of gotten better food from Bill Millers and I hate BM's read more

We came to Seguin to explore the outdoors and spotted Schultze's from the road. It has a spacious dining room with outdoor seating available, too. We ordered meats by the pound: brisket (both lean cuts and moist cuts), ribs, and sausage. Our group enjoyed all the meats we tried: even the lean brisket was fall-apart tender; the sausage was savory and peppery. The pinto beans were especially successful, with a rich flavor and toothsome texture. Visiting Schultze's is a good choice when you are exploring Seguin and the Guadalupe River, and working up an appetite. read more

I fully expected they would be sold out of some items - which they were. I'm not docking anything for not having certain foods. My rating is strictly based on the food we tried. I really wanted to like this food, but it just left more to be desired. -- Brisket - some pieces taste good and fine with a good bark, however other pieces had a gas/propane flavor to it - made me wonder if it had been exposed to a heat lamp or something for too long?? -- Sausage was good! Highly recommend. -- Ribs - We didn't like them, wasn't a rub we cared for. Curious if they would be better fresh. -- Green Beans - Good flavor. -- Potatoes - Favorite side! This is great BBQ here in Seguin, Texas. I had the three meat plate with ribs, brisket, and sausage, which came with two sides and I ordered mac & cheese and baked potato salad. I'll start with the sides. The mac & cheese was good basic and the baked potato salad was good a different feel but a little too much sour cream for my taste though. The sausage was good 6 out of 10. I ordered the original flavor. The barbecue sauce was actually quite good compared to others that can be a little too much vinegar or sweet. I would have to rate the brisket an 8 out of 10 in my opinion it had great bark and when eating warm just melts in your mouth. The ribs were delicious and also an 8 out of 10 almost like candy. If I am ever back in the area, this is definitely a must stop place to come and eat. read more

My 2nd time to this place. Whenever I'm in Seguine, the line is always out the door at the "top rated" BBQ joint on the square, so we decided to try Schulze's and weren't disappointerd.
