After COVID, I've been in search of a new salon to get my hair cut. I saw pictures of Sharon's work and texted her directly to give her a try. She was very quick to respond and I got an appointment later that same week. Women's hair cut is $60 (includes shampoo, conditioner, cut, and blow dry). Cash is recommended, as credit card will have additional $3 fee. Sharon is definitely more on the conservative side for cutting off inches - I told her I wanted 2-3 inches off, and she stuck with about 2 inches in the overall length. So if you're worried about going to a salon for a trim and getting more cut off than you would like, I think Sharon's really good at keeping it to the lengh you want. It took a little over an hour for everything. Floors were a little slippery for me in sandals, so I'd just be a little wary of that. PSA: Sharon is no longer here - I only asked for her because the yelp reviews for this place all highly recommended her. First time visitor, but I wanted a haircut so I made an appointment anyway with no one in particular. When I arrived, May was the girl to help me out, and she is AMAZING. I feel like I am only echoing the sentiment of so many others here when I say that she is super warm, friendly, and informative about how to wash and care for my hair, but it is all true. I felt so comfortable being there, and the haircut itself was great. This last part is incredibly important to me, because I am trans and was very self-conscious walking in, but May understood the assignment and read me perfectly without me having to explain anything. A few other notes: If you can't speak in Cantonese well, or don't speak Mandarin at all (like me), ask for May - she is fluent in English. Also, May was the first hairstylist to convince me that a center part could look good on me (I had been side-parting my hair this entire time), and was blown away with how well she executed it. She is very attentive and kind and has even provided some tips for styling hair which is a big plus. Fighting through Friday traffic, I made it to this salon 20 mins late for my appointment (easy, called in the morning for an afternoon slot). So glad they still took me in, despite closing in less than an hour. May did an amazing job. She gave me great advice as she cut my unruly hair - I'll be able to manage it and keep it as healthy as possible with her recommendations. I will definitely come back. The experience always includes a relaxing wash, which I truly enjoy. I show them an inspo pic and they begin cutting. I never request a specific stylist, yet every time, I'm met with great advice on how to care for and style my hair. I came in not really knowing exactly what I wanted, I just wanted it fixed asap since I messed it up at home. Based on first experience, it was easy to get an appt booked. I came for a hair cut service with Sharon, I asked for curtain bangs and long layers. And that's exactly what I got. I appreciate that Sharon gave me inputs and shared her advice because I am an indecisive person. I went with her inputs and it turned out perfect. I had my fair share of hairstylist and Sharon has been by far one of the sweetest and gets you want you asked for. She is full of knowledge about hair to the novice like me but she is very patient to explain everything to you. Then again, i did sit on that chair all day in able to accomplish the color i wanted. But i have to say, after 3 other hairstylist prior, Sharon has finally been the one able to give me what i asked for. He cuts are quick but she is on point also! I will admit, in order to get the ashy silver color you want, expect alot of hours invested into that chair (roughly 6-10hrs) or a few (3-4) shorter sessions to achieve the color especially if you have stubborn hair like mines plus lots of money especially if you need touch up plus color correction. Oh and don't forget to bring a sack lunch as i said, you will be sitting there the whole day unless you are ok to walk in the plaza to lots of food varieties with your hair in foils lol. The lady (part owner, i think) that helps out at the shops gives one of the longest and best hair washes and messages ever!! See my pic collage for before and after! Pictures don't do justice but depending on natural outside lighting, inner soft lighting or LED, my hair color fluctuates which i love. Generally its a silverish ash highlights over ashy black lowlights with purple tint to it. Its most beautiful in natural lighting or bright LED as you can see all the colors. Although in dimmer yellow lights, ican also look simply like an old lady with black and white hair lol. Lastly, she is great with the light bangs she gave me. I did a same day appointment with Sharon and she was able to book me within 30 minutes of my call. My hair was super long and damaged from my last perm and I hadn't had a hair cut for over a year. She cut off most of my damaged hair but also keep some of my curls. I gave her some inspiration pictures but ultimately let her decide what to do with it. She ended up giving me soft layers that framed my face. Sharon even took some time to teach me how to style my hair with the blow dryer and a curling iron. I need a haircut on a Monday afternoon in September. My hair reached up to my waist so I found them on yelp and always passed by this place. May, the hair stylist answered the phone and was able to accommodate me even though today is her day off and the salon is closed due to Labor Day holiday.
