Cool dive! we found it on a whim, I was attracted to the waffle photo that is next to their name here on yelp, so decided to check it out. Its a cute little restaurant with a great breakfast selection! I ended up getting french toast and bacon, it was delicious. my husband got a big ol' omelette and hash browns, which he said was very good! The service was good when we first sat down, but we had to ask waitresses walking by for stuff that we needed instead of being asked. First world problem, but I suppose thats what we're paying for. :) Go check it out, we spoke with one of the owners and he seems like a stand up guy! read more

My favorite restaurant on LBI. They've recently redone the interior and I haven't seen it yet but my mother recently visited and said it looks great. The service is always good and the food is always consistent. The prices are also reasonable. Love their clam strips! They're not the typical frozen ones most places serve. We did breakfast, lunch and dinner there during our 1 week stay in LBI. 3 visits to one place in 7 days speaks volumes for the establishment. Great gluten free options here but be careful. Pancakes will be made with the regular pancake. They have gluten free toast but no separate toaster. As much as I like momma's meatloaf, and I do, I'm afraid I will not be back for awhile. Being in the "at risk" category, I called for curbside pickup only to find out that it is not "contactless." I was told they do not take credit card info over the phone when placing the order. Someone (with a mask -no gloves) came to the car asking for the credit card. The card now goes out of my eyesight till he returns with the receipt to be signed on a clipboard/pen touched by countless people. For now, Scojo's will be off my list until they take the credit card info on the phone and all I need to do is pop my trunk for the bag of food to be put in there - contactless! read more

I had high expectations for Easter because Scojo's normally has descent food. This not only didn't meet my expectations but they failed miserably. My family of four ordered one spaghetti and meatball from the children's menu with Apple juice and desert. The rest of us ordered the Easter special of Lamb with mash potatoes. It came with a soup and a dessert. Soup was good. Then the lamb came. It was way over cooked and it was shavings of it not a clean slice. A small thing of mint jelly and mash potatoes with skin in it covered in brown gravy. No side of any vegetables. None. Just meat and mash. I couldn't finish it as it was not appetizing to even look at and I wanted a vegetable. I tried to find our waiter but he was too busy to talk to or grab his attention. When he finally came I said we were not happy about the meal and where were the vegetables?! He apologized and took soft drinks off the bill. That did not feel like it made up for a lousy Easter dinner that was $18.00 a per person! So disappointed. read more

Used to come here often with my family when I was younger. Recently, in their off season, I brought my younger siblings with me to have a late lunch. The restaurant was decently empty and the man at the counter was chatting with some older women sitting next to the host stand. We waited 5 minutes to even be acknowledged, like we were bothering him.. Once we were seated a waitress asked us for a drink order and then right away a food order. Because we were catching up and talking, we were not ready to order. She walked away in a somewhat frustrated way and then a different waitress came back and served us the rest of the time... The first waitress was still taking tables, so it wasn't because her shift was ending but more so because she didn't have patience to maintain our "slow" ordering. For the rest of our meal we felt uncomfortable and unwanted there. The food was mediocre AT BEST. There is a lot of hype about this place and a lot of summer people will wait hour waits, I would say try a different place and don't waste your time. Also, as a place perceived as a diner with pictures of eggs and bacon on their signs, they stop serving lunch very early. read more

I looked through these reviews and the other restaurants nearby from here, and the only reason I can understand people giving it decent ratings is because there's nothing else like it around. The environment is diner-esque, the food is mediocre and expensive, some of the servers were extremely kind, others were rather grouchy. I can understand 4 star reviews based on what's around it, and we obviously didn't try the entire menu. Showed up around closing time but they told us to come in anyway and they were extremely friendly and our waitress Lindsey was so nice and welcoming and very attentive. We all ordered from the $14.99 part of the dinner menu and the food was delicious and they did not rush us at all. We also ordered an appetizer but the meals were huge and come with soup or salad and choice of potato so there were plenty of leftovers. We even ordered dessert which was very reasonable and tasty too. Will definitely be making it back here for dinner soon! Prices were great, service was excellent, and food was delicious. Server was funny and helpful, we ordered the jersey style eggs benedict and the wafflewich. Came out quickly for such a busy restaurant and tasted amazing. My wife and I had breakfast here this morning!!! First thing I have to say is we had an absolutely wonderful waitress/server in Maddie, she was professional and personable and the kind of person that you want to interact with out for breakfast, an absolute gem!!!! The breakfast was terrific, I had Sweet Cream with about a pint of strawberries stuffed French Toast with multiple dollops of whipped cream and a slice of Orange!!! It was delectable!! My wife had scrambled eggs with a side of mixed fruit and perfectly toasted rye bread!!! This is a place you definitely want to go for either breakfast or lunch!!!! The missus and I just returned home from having the $15 early bird special at Scojo's. I had squash soup, calves liver and onions and bread pudding. My wife had a salad, roast pork with sauerkraut and carrot cake. The squash soup was hearty and nicely spiced. My liver was cooked rare, just as I asked for it (so many places overcook liver). My wife's meal was also delicious, maybe because the the sauerkraut was full of bacon. Both desserts were excellent. Even though the place was crowded, service was very good. So why only three stars? The answer is that we've eaten at Scojo's quite a few times over the years and it's not always so good. Sometimes the food is uninspiring and occasionally the service is indifferent. I will note, however, that even on such occasions the restaurant does not fall below an "average" rating. I recommend you give Scojo's a try. Given that their prices are quite modest, the worst outcome is that you will have an OK meal at an OK price. But if you're there when things are clicking, you'll get a really good meal for that OK price. read more

I had the Huevos Rancheros (2 eggs over-medium instead of 3 scrambled), others in my party had a build-your own omelet, the sweet-cream filled crepes, and the griddle combo (French toast option).
