Pasta on its own is good. Sauce is flavorless. Took 30+ minutes for a Togo. Garlic bread is toast.

Was invited to Scolapasta in Navy Yard by a friend. During my visit, the restaurant was working with a limited menu, so I ordered the Pomodoro with the Rigatoni noodles. The pasta was a little salty to taste, so I made the waiter aware and he kindly got me another serving of the same pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta was still a bit too salty for me to fully enjoy. My friend ordered the White Truffle w/ Chicken with the Casarecce noodles which I tried, and it was very tasty. The location is ideal. Located in proximity to the Navy Yard Metro, and Nationals Stadium. The restaurant is open air seating which is enjoyable for an indoor/outdoor experience on a nice weather day. I might make plans to visit Scolapasta again in the near future if I'm in the area for a baseball game. Overall, the experience was a little underwhelming, but they may need time to work out the kinks that come with a new restaurant.

Staff is welcoming and friendly, there are kiosks at the back where you can order or scan the QR code at the tables. Place is intimate, but there managed to separate it into 3 sections of seating plus a bar that opens to the outside! Pasta comes out hot and stays hot thanks to the deep containers. Best part is if you change your mind about eating in or need to go, no need to wait for takeout containers! We ordered the pesto rigatoni bar crawl and arabiatta capresce with mozzarella balls and mushrooms! Pesto was a tad salty but otherwise everything was spot on. Would be nice if they had a water station so you don't have to keep bothering the server. Jordan helped us and was really on it; he was welcoming, explained everything and kept us updated on our food, which didn't take long at all. There's even a viewing window into the kitchen where you can see the chef's firing up your pasta order. I can see this place getting bus during game nights but also it's just a fun, sit down or fast casual spot to grab some drinks, food, and watch sports.

Whether…read morewe're catching up with friends who live around Capitol Hill or bringing the family, it always delivers. Between the handmade pasta, creative cocktails, beautiful waterfront views, and welcoming staff, it's become one of our regular OpenTable reservations. At this point, we've tried just about everything on the menu, from the bomboloni and fluffy Morini pancakes at brunch to many of the pastas at dinner. If it's your first visit, don't skip the gnudi--they're pillowy ricotta dumplings that are absolutely worth ordering. The pappardelle and cappelletti are also favorites, while the gnocchi and tagliatelle are always a hit with kids. The espresso martini is a great way to kick off a relaxing weekend, and what keeps us coming back isn't just the food. We've gotten to know the chefs, managers, and several servers over the years, and they consistently make us feel welcome. It's the kind of restaurant that remembers its regulars and creates an experience that's just as enjoyable as the meal itself. We're grateful to have Osteria Morini in our rotation and look forward to many more family brunches and dinners with friends.

I ordered a little bit of everything and HAD to get the ricotta pancake which is plenty for two. Appetizers - Brussels sprouts were yummy which an orange flavored twist. Pasta - Ordered the rigatoni and cappelletti. This pasta is at a higher price point, but they make the pasta in house. I wish the food came out steaming hot, but I believe they delayed brining the pasta out so that the pancake could come out with it. Next time, I will ask them to bring out the food as it's ready. I enjoyed the rigatoni over the cappelletti, but I am more of a red sauce person. Both were yummy, but more flavor with the red sauce. Pancake - Went plain and simple here with the classic. Not sure if it's supposed to be that cooked outside (like burnt?...) but it's a generous portion (also a generous price at $15). A different take on the classic pancake as it's thicker and more moist. Drinks - Unfortunately, no bottomless drinks here so they have a pretty standard drink menu. I wanna come back for HH! Came on a very hot day where the A/C was not working well so be prepared with a fan! Our server was really attentive and friendly!

And they have a super cute patio outside that's far enough off the main street to be quiet and shaded. We started with cocktails. I especially enjoyed the Elderflower Spritz. You gotta have a spritz at an Italian place, right?? Then, we had our appetizers - the tuna tartare and buratta. Both were fresh, pretty and tasty! We loved the panzanella salad with the creamy burrata. And the tuna tartare was chopped nicely and seasoned well. The standout for us was their pizza though. Mamma mia!! The Drunken love with pepperoni and vodka sauce was to die for. Their pizza is like a mix between NY style and Neapolitan. The crust is crispy and puffy. It took a lot of will power to not eat the whole thing. The pastas fell a little short for us. The alfredo was just ok- not the best flavor. And the pesto was really soupy and a huge portion. Definitely, more Italian American than traditional Italian. We wrapped up the dinner with a cannoli brownie. A fun take on the classic Italian dessert. Overall, a delicious meal! We will be back for pizza FOR SURE.

The hostess told us we likely wouldn't sit until 9:45 so I inquired about the bar and the manager quickly stepped in to put us on a waitlist. Since the restaurant is connected to a food hall of sorts, she recommended we grab a drink there while we wait. Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! However, I'd recommend reserving ahead of time because it's certainly not a secret. LOL

We ordered the Creamy Burrata, with Grilled Bread and four cheese sauce and the calamari for the appitizers. All of the appetizers were amazing and Im a sucker for grilled crushy bread. For the main course i ordered the Trout Piccata. The fish was cooked to perfection and the veggies were well seasoned. My friends ordered the chicken piccata, Caruso Alfredo and baked Cavatelli. Everything was good. Next up we ordered the butterfinger sundae, Nutella cannoli and tiramisu. The sundae base is chocolate ice cream. If you are fan of chocolate ice cream you will love the sundae. Overall great experience and I will definitely return!

Gave us warm tap water when it's 90+ degrees out but brought out ice when we asked. Other tables were seated and ordered after us and served food before us. Not sure if they just forgot to put in our order or we were struck with bad luck. Basic things you'd expect like extra napkins, a serving spatula for the pizza, and cheese/pepper flakes to be brought before or with the pizza weren't done. The pizza took 35 minutes to come out and certainly wasn't worth the wait. The pizza was plain, unflavorful, floppy as heck, and had a soup-like liquidy consistency, immediately falling apart. The crust was chewy and unappealing. The pizza wasn't worth $33. Gimme a break. The manager walked by 40 times and didn't stop by once to check on us but seemed to check on every other table.
