Overpriced mocktails, overpriced pizza---don't be duped! It was all right. There was a language barrier with the server. Gave us warm tap water when it's 90+ degrees out but brought out ice when we asked. Other tables were seated and ordered after us and served food before us. Not sure if they just forgot to put in our order or we were struck with bad luck. Basic things you'd expect like extra napkins, a serving spatula for the pizza, and cheese/pepper flakes to be brought before or with the pizza weren't done. The pizza took 35 minutes to come out and certainly wasn't worth the wait. The pizza was plain, unflavorful, floppy as heck, and had a soup-like liquidy consistency, immediately falling apart. The crust was chewy and unappealing. The pizza wasn't worth $33. Gimme a break. The manager walked by 40 times and didn't stop by once to check on us but seemed to check on every other table. Overall the pizza has better quality ingredients than a chain restaurant but there's no flavor or seasonings in the sauce with a bland tasting cheese. The crust is crisp. The Fungi (ham and mushrooms) was a bland outside of the ham. They have a specialty pizza with salami, sausage, pepper flakes and a jam. This was actually flavorful if you like spice. Plus I prefer the ground sausage. The chips are good. The tiramisu is light, refreshing and tasty. The servers are informative but you should keep track of your order in case it's overlooked. I gotta say there is craving pizza and then there is enjoying pizza if you want a culinary experience for pizza which is a unique kind of craving let's let's be real but if you want to enjoy a slice then this is a place to go while we were there we enjoyed both a meat pie and a more vegetarian mushroom pie and both were outstanding choices while we were enjoying our food. The owner came up to us and mentioned that very proudly that they were ranked 51st in the world from this one pizza competition of over 250 other restaurants so I could see why to be honest. But the restaurant itself was really enjoyable. We went there to see some friends and they made sure two places in the table that kind of that we had all to ourselves and were able to just catch up. Enjoy some slices and have some good laughs, but yeah, I know it was really convenient too with the location right being next to the Norma Metro stop and then what was perfect. After afterwards was our friends that we met there headed to Trader Joe's right next by and then we did some thrift thing right up the street. read more

Great location in the Union Market area and Michelin-recognized as a bib gourmand for delicious food at reasonable prices. Stellina has an outdoor patio overlooking Union Market and a large bar and great seating inside. Staff was friendly and while pizzeria is in the title, Stellina offers so much more. They have great cocktails and a range of pastas, sandwiches, and salads. The eggplant parm was very tasty and I'm looking forward to coming back for some pizza. read more

Stopped in for a salad and pizza. Margherita pizza was big, full of flavor, with a nice crisp bottom and just a hint of burn on parts of the outer crust...suitable for folding and enjoying. Good pizza. Union Market has filled out with so many dining options it has taken me so long to try Stellina, but I'm glad I finally did. They are one of the more casual spots in the neighborhood, and there were open tables without reservations on Friday night, so it was very easy to come on in and get a spot. The pepperoni pizza is currently $19 and large enough to share - it has four large slices, but for the two of us, it filled us up. I would say one pizza and one appetizer would be a good meal for two people. It is very tasty, and the soft crust is phenomenal. We are living in a bit of a DC pizza renaissance, so I would still put the likes of Anxo, Martha Dear, and Andy's ahead of them in terms of quality, but this is still a solid pizza and well worth it if you're nearby. Good negroni, too, and not a bad value at $13. Bonus points because they don't just fill your water cups, they give you a whole glass bottle of water, and that is key for big water drinkers like us. read more

We were walking from the nearby NoMa Metro stop to our Hilton hotel and smelled this place before we saw it! Fabulous and obviously enticing! We decided to land here for dinner and SO GLAD we did. Homemade pasta and pizza, arancini, artichokes, cannoli, extensive cocktail list, and relaxed atmosphere made for a wonderful pit stop with a plan to return to try more menu items. My order of squid ink pasta was delicious and chock full of seafood, tender pasta, and a delectable sauce, which will be a meal to remember for a long, long time. I had been wanting to try Stellina's. It was always packed when we walked by it in the neighborhood! We went in on a Thursday night, and we were underwhelmed with the food. The pizza tasted good but the crust was thin and floppy. You couldn't pick up a slice and eat it without rolling it into a taco shape. The burrata was served with roasted tomatoes, but we honestly like a more traditional burrata with fresh raw tomatoes. I had a nice limoncello cocktail, and that was good! If only judging by the food, I would say 3 stars, maybe 4 on a better day for the kitchen, but the main issue we had was with our order. Two people in our party ordered the Carbonara pasta, and when all of our food arrived, around 15-20 minutes after we ordered, they informed us that they were "out of" the carbonara, and asked if we wanted to order something else. Their announcement came with a "sorry", but at no point did they offer to comp or rectify the situation. Why wouldn't we have been informed of this around the time we ordered? We ended up waiting another 15 minutes for replacement orders, and the issue wasn't mentioned again by the person in charge. It was a decent meal, but it was ruined by the broken service. read more

Finally tried Stellina Pizzeria in Union Market District and I really enjoyed it! I visited on a Thursday night and was able to sit quickly without a reservation. They have both patio seating and indoor seating options. I tried the seafood pasta and it was absolutely delicious if you're a seafood lover and it was a pretty decent portion as well. I also tried the fennel salad which was good, but not sure if I would order it again. They have great drinks including a variety of spritz, I enjoyed the Stellina Spritz the most which was closest to a traditional aperol spritz. I also tried a tiramisu for dessert which was tasty.
