Scoopers is a Reno institution. I've been visiting here for ages, and their ice cream and milkshake game is absolutely legendary. As far as soft serve goes, it really can't be beat. Scoopers is your classic old school greasy burger joint offering diner classics in addition to an absolutely massive list of milkshake flavors. You order at the counter, and they'll call you up when your food is ready. They have a large dining room with plenty of room to eat with a large group or on your own. The food here is ok. Their meal options have never blown me away, so on this latest visit, we just grabbed some sweet treats. A Dr. Pepper float, a fresh banana milkshake, and a couple of vanilla soft serve cones. The ice cream lives up to expectations. Move aside, McDonald's- Scoopers has a WORKING ice cream machine, and it's BETTER! The ice cream is so creamy, and the cones are huge. The restaurant was pretty busy when we walked in hut the guy behind the counter was manning the register and the pick-up window like a seasoned professional. Just had our second visit here. I really like this place. It's not fancy (a restaurant branding and interior design firm could take this place aesthetically to the next level) but Scoopers is always clean and you can tell the food is fresh and prepared well. I'd never stopped here before but for sure I will come back again and again. Conveniently located south of the shipping center that has Savers and Joanne Fabrics, alas Harbor Freight is gone. I went back with my husband. I still live their food, restaurant cleanliness and vibe. Where we struggle is how difficult the menu is to decipher. I swear we ordered a double burger which I was told was two 1/4 lb patties as my husband's. His looked to be two 1/8 lb and mine two half pound. I tried to explain my concerns to the guy taking my order to no avail because he seemed to be in a rush. I did talk with another guy after we received our food and he said to let him know next time what we want and he would make sure it happens. I will forever recommend Scoopers to anyone that I know. I have been a huge fan since I was little. My grandmother used to take me to grab a milkshake and cheeseburger in her 1977 Monte Carlo. It was always one of our favorite things to do together, and I continue the tradition still. The burgers are SO good! And everything else too if I'm being honest. There really isn't one bad thing on the menu. Today, I had the Sgt. Cheddar burger with crispy fried onions, bourbon sauce, pickles, tomato, and shredded lettuce. I am so happy that exists on the menu because I cannot stop ordering it, along with the French fries that are almost perfect every time. They can be a little too salty at times, but they're still really good and salt can be dusted off. The service has gone through its ups and downs over the years at both locations, but for the most part they have had great people on staff. One of my favorite things about Scoopers has always been the classic soda signs and other artwork around the walls of each location. Always something cool to look at. read more

Actually a pretty juicy burger. Got the Sgt. Chedder with an extra patty. Definitely enough meat, no need for the extra patty. Great tasting burger. Burger was pink on the inside but unevenly cooked. Raw towards the edge. Wife got the bacon burger. The Matterhorn I believe. Another taster choice. Chili fries were pretty good too. Service was good. I do want to say that they closed at 8 and we got there at 7 so I don't know if our food was rushed on the grill or what but my burger could use a little more time on the grill. Also they stopped taking orders at 7:20ish-7:30. Man there has to have been a total of 10-12 people that couldn't put there order in due to coming in after that time. My husband and I came here yesterday for lunch. What a pleasant experience! We were greeted immediately upon entering and, after looking over the menu and being wowed by the number of shake flavors available, I ended up ordering a chocolate malt and a Veggie Burger while my husband ordered a Polish Dog. The man taking our order mentioned that they may be out of their veggie patties so he went back to check. Luckily, they had a few left! He told me he was having a hard time finding the veggie patty brand they have been using. After attending a "burger show" and tasting a wide variety of veggie burgers, he liked this particular brand the best because he thought it appeals to both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Our food was ready in no time! My shake so delicious that my husband, who didn't order a shake because he was trying to be healthy, could not resist having much of mine. My family and I were in Reno this past weekend to celebrate my hubby's birthday. We had reservations at a puzzle Room and saw this restaurant next door. I was kinda intrigued since it served not only burgers but tacos and nachos, all kinds of hotdogs, sandwiches and other things. On top of that, they have an array of milkshakes and ice cream cones. Obviously, I yelped it and was pleased to see so many positive reviews so we decided to have lunch there. I am happy we did because it was really good. Here is what we had: Bulls Eye Burger: 1/2 lb. double swiss & american, bacon, 2 onion rings, bbq & thousand island Matterhorn: 1/2 lb. with swiss & bacon Super Nachos: Meat, beans, nacho cheese, grated cheddar jack, tomatoes, olives & sour cream Each burger was really juicy and dripping off our hands, kinda messy but delish. The nachos were good but the meat was a tad but too salty for me. But hey, throw a little more sour cream and it was fine. Their milkshakes were nice and thick full of flavor. I think next time we will try other things on the menu including an ice cream cone or two. We will definitely be going back, and I suggest you try it out too. read more

Ordered 5 burgers, 4 sides and 3 shakes- We were handed ONE bag with not a single word said to us. I was skeptical all the food would fit in one bag so I checked- of the 5 burgers we ordered, we received none of them. We got one burger that wasn't even remotely close to what we ordered, its doesn't even look like it could qualify as a single. We asked the employee if we could substitute any of the burgers and she said "well do you have the supplies? We are out of everything we dont have patties or buns or even ketchup" yet there were people still ordering burgers after us. Saturday was my first time visiting this location. There was only a handful of other people there so we were able to order right away. For food we only ordered a plain cheeseburger and french fries for my daughter, both were pretty tasty. Their ranch is on point for dipping fries! The staff were all very kind and quick. The restaurant is very open and has plenty of seating. It is also kept very clean. We had a party of 8 of us and were able to push two tables together.
