UPDATE 9 October: Called Scooter Depot again about the part they would send me for the turn signals which are not functioning properly. The problem is the lights when activated stay lighted and no longer flash. I had called them last Monday the 1st of October and waited 15mins THEN for a tech-type to talk with. This time I waited over 15mins again to get a live person and told them it's been a week since I called initially about this problem, and that part must be flying around in circles from southern CA to NYC then to SF to get to me. Chris told me they had a fire inspection (how convenient) and could not access their warehouse for 2days so they are all backed up. I'll say they are slow, late and lazy!! Chris assured me there would be a tracking email sent when the part goes out (yea right) and it would be shipped within two days more - after a whole week of not being shipped, I'd say that is really quick service! I bought a 50 cc (Chinese) scooter from them. Within the first year, the engine blew-up. SUNNY SPORT / SUNNY DEPOT fully denied liability and basically told me that all sales are final and that I can either sue them (as many have done in the past), or, as the guy said to me as he laughed lightly, "Take a hike, moron". Yes, this is how they treat you, their customer. BTW, if you do try to sue them, be advised, they will change their name so as to attempt to confuse local court system and escape prosecution. I would give this fucking place 0.0003 of a star if it would let me because they have 'Sunny' in their business name. Which from my experience with them, is ironic. I found them online and they have a selection of scooters which I was interested. I called and spoke to a somewhat helpful sales person, placed my order asked 2 questions and hung up. I had to follow up with him to ensure the order was placed...that should have been the first hint of what was to come. When I called back, it almost sounded like I woke him up and he said, "Oh yeah...yeah...you'll get something by email soon..." Whoops. One of the 3 messages confirmed they hit my credit card, the other stated I should use the user name and login to check or follow the status of my order. The last stated that I should expect my unit to arrive in 2-4 business days. The day after my order, I log in and the order reads, "READY TO SHIP". Thinking, "Awesome! They are 35 mins away from my address via highway - I should get it tomorrow, next day latest!" I wait. No calls or messages from them confirming a delivery date. I wait. I call them to ensure they have my direct number and correct shipping address. I wait. A week and $3000 later, I call. They sound as if they have no idea that I had an order. When they finally found it, 10 mins on hold later...the chick asks me, "Is tomorrow 10am-12noon good for you?" "YES!" I plead. I'll have to figure out work stuff AGAIN to manage this into my schedule. Right... well, the next day - I get a call at 9:57am stating the driver will be about 3 hours late...WHAT? I tell them no, no one will be here and its unacceptable. She said she'd call me back. Minutes later, she says the earliest he could be here is 1:30pm - I say no, I have to be somewhere before 2pm. I have a job and can't keep making accommodations for this delivery and their lack of professionalism or organization. She says, "Oh, I miss spoke the earliest he can be there is 11:30am...." Fine, I say. 12:30pm - I call AGAIN to find out the hold up. I am left on hold for 16 mins (my phone has a call timer) before someone picks up. I am immediately accosted by someone who spoke to me like I ran over her dog, drop kicked her baby and knocked the ice cream from her cone. She talked over me while I attempted to CALMLY and PEACEFULLY explain the source of my displeasure. She accused me of several misstatements and demonstrated why one must never hire someone with a 3rd grade education to manage customer service departments. When I suggested I paid $299 for delivery which did not arrive on EITHER of the dates or times they previously arranged, she literally said, "Well...that's awesome and stuff, I can give you a free helmet or something." Direct quote. No word of a lie. This came up again, when she further insulted the issue by offering to refund me $20 for a weeks delay and a lot of undeserved attitude. They never took responsibility for the issues, they denied that their emails were misleading if not blatantly wrong."Why would 'READY TO SHIP' not mean that the unit was READY TO SHIP?" I asked. She tried to tell me that it doesn't mean that, it means her girls are doing their job and getting the order prepared to go out. Really. Well, needless to say, I canceled my order. They lost an EASY $3000 deal, with definite referral sales. And earned (another) shitty rating on Yelp. No matter what, at the end of the day - when it comes to businesses...you vote with your dollar. You support the business where you shop. Until they can hire people who understand the definition of customer service and not sociopaths with grudge, obvious lack of business foresight and customer relationship management skills - I will continue to inform inquiring minds NEVER to give them your money. read more

Stay away. I had trouble finding this place to review it because they've changed their name so often. I've spent over $1000 in repairs on this scooter. The turn signals stopped working, the hoses are cheaply made and crack easily, and their repair department does not return phone calls. I've only got 500 miles on this thing. The other reviews seem accurate, according to my own experience. The delivery timing issue mentioned has a lot to do with the unprofessionals who work for the trucking company, though. Ugh. My first bike arrived with a severely damaged shipping crate... Looked like it had been pushed off the back at highway speeds. Bike was 1) wrong color, 2) bent and dented, 3) scuffed and scratched. None of which was visible without taking the crate apart. It was VERY difficult to get Sunny to agree to replace the damaged unit with an undamaged one of the correct color! Finally, months later, the new bike arrived. Only the brake lever was damaged this time. But the kickstand(!) was incorrectly made or incorrectly welded onto this bike. Serious bending efforts were required to "adjust" it to hold the bike upright properly. Fuel gauge didn't (still doesnt) work correctly. The rear axle nut came completely off after 900 miles or so, resulting in a ruined rear wheel for which Sunny was unable to get a replacement part! Finding one even with Internet search was mission impossible, but I was able to get one which was close enough that would work after spacing the brake calipers a bit with spacers. Extended parts warranty? Waste of money. Sunny either are unwilling or unable to get you a replacement. The local motorcycle shop here in my town won't work on Chinese scooters, citing unavailability of parts. All that said, if you're mechanically inclined you should have a pretty good experience with the bike if you consider it as a DIY project. My 250's engine oil stays clean, indicating to me that the parts mesh together pretty nicely. Most components like brakes, wheels, etc, seem to be holding up nicely after 1.5 yrs and 1400 miles of short, hilly trips. Manufacturer for mine is DongFang. I would recommend just about ANY other online dealer, though, if you wish to buy online! read more

ScooterDepot ; Sunny Sport. I purchased two scooters (300cc) from scooter depot (U.S. CA ) through their website. With-in ten minutes I received a phone call to "verify" my credit/debit card I utilized for the purchase. I had no questions about their business practices or products they supply since I expected professionalism and had read the mission statement provided. After my card was verified and my order placed I was told I should be receiving an email with full order details and receipt of purchase. A young man indicated to me my two scooters will (promised) arrive within 2 weeks. I acknowledged said thank you and our call ended. After about an hour I finally received the email and reviewed it's contents and all information provided seemed accurate and roused no suspicion. Two and a half weeks after my purchase I contacted scooter depot to inquire of the status of the scooters. The same young man apologized and said it would be another 2 weeks due to some BS. 2 weeks later (4 in total) I contacted scooter depot again and asked for my scooters and he said that they're not in stock anymore and I have to wait 2 months. I immediately requested a cancellation of my order to which he now stated there are additional fees for cancellation. He attempt to sell me a lower model at a higher price and said they would be delivered within two weeks and a helmet. I respectfully declined and he said he would cancel my order and a refund will take 10 to 15 days in total. After two weeks of awaiting my refund of which had not been returned I had to again contact scooter depot and a different young man answered my call this time. I ask him about my refund and why it hasn't been deposited into my account yet and he said "oh I don't know." "We're really busy with stuff." He attempted to sell my two more scooters on-top of the two i had already purchased. Needless to say I said no. I knew I would not receive it so instead I asked for my previous purchase to be retained. He began typing on his computer and said okay it will be 1 month. One month later I call yet again asking about my 2 scooters and the young man from the first two calls answered and told me my order is still in back-order and I need to wait one more month. Frustrated I said okay, thank you and ended the call. One month later the scooters finally arrived. I ordered a red and black of which I did receive a red and black. Both scooters were in a cheap wooden crate a which had a steel rusted frame inside holding the scooter. Both were not fully assembled as indicated. I had to install the front wheels myself (which wasn't easy). About a week later one mirror broke, a few rather important screws fell out, my batteries depleted and my instrument panel became erratic. I called to have the mirror replaced and someone in parts tried to make me pay 90 dollars for two. I declared my warranty and purchase date and the mirrors arrived 2 weeks later. Then around 1 month my scooter would stall and shake while driving of which caused me to crash twice(nothing severe). I contacted them when my scooter wouldn't start and someone had the audacity to instruct me to remove the fuel hose and suck on it to "get the fuel low going." I laughed and hung up. I called again when my other scooters throttle became lose and had too much lag in it. Someone told me to adjust the cable and i had told him I already did but it isn't resolving my issue. He said to send it in but i need to pay for shipping and labor even under warranty. I said no and asked him to take this matter seriously to which he yelled: "I am taking you seriously!" I ended the call. I haven't called them since. It's been about 2 years and I have had to repair my scooters numerous times due to defects from manufacturer parts and workmanship. My starter doesn't function on one scooter. On the other the speedometer doesn't indicate speed. I have recharged both batteries over 8 times. On both scooters the rubber hoses burn. Plastic coverings have melted. Seats don't lock into place with-out slamming it. I have taught myself how to repair scooters by just having these pieces of shit to work on every week. Customer service is unprofessional. Rude, dismissive, condescending, insulting. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SCOOTER DEPOT\ SUNNY SPORTS. I did not mention my mileage: It indicates 4000 miles. I have only driven it around town around 30 times and I know my city doesn't cover 4000 miles. My longest ride was an hour. And due to sensitive engines during the winter it is difficult to start and summer it produces extra heat which burns most of the hoses. read more

We puchased two 150 scotter from them we ordered two luggage racks, along with the scooters, when the scooters arrived there was bo paper work, no luggage racks, and i ordered two 2015 scooters and recice two 2012, we called, and called, and this took about 4 months we finally got the luggage racks, and paperwork. Waited 1 week for processing, 3 weeks for them to ship and 2 weeks for delivery... Totally unreal. All the bad reviews on this company are true and Im a stupid idiot for buying from them. I purchased a 300cc scooter from Scooter Depot on Sept 10, 2012 and it was the worst purchase I have ever made since I started shopping online in 1995. It took them 3 weeks to ship from their location in CA to me in Las Vegas, and when I did receive it the left handlebar had damage from a tiedown wire and the Stator & Rectifier/Regulator were defective and charging system would not work. That was a 200.00 repair on a fresh out of the crate scooter. I have emailed Scooter Depot twice on this matter but no response. The next problem is the steering is loose and wobbles. so I will have to have that fixed also. Do not buy from this company, you will regret it. read more

Received my scooter with a seat that was tore so paid $80 dollars to fix that. There was no 24 hour notification prior to receiving it. Now for no good reason it will start but squels & does not have any power. If the back tire will turn sometimes quicker & sometimes it won't. Their customer service about replacing the seat was a joke. I e-mailed pictures to them & was basically ignored. The next scooter I buy will come from elsewhere. Also a sales rep here basically sold me a bigger scooter than I really wanted because they were supposedly sold out of the model I wanted. read more

First David (sorry David) but I'm giving yer # 1004 was always very courteous. returned my calls.I ordered the MC-H50-T10. it was shipped very well protected. Then I had a problem it wouldn't start so I called service sorry again! 1007 and a man called "Fausto" (sp) immediately called me back so he could go to my scooter with me. he stayed on the phone and knew exactly what to do it was just a loose screw in a on a metal tube that goes down on the left side screw need tightening was just a little loose :) & wasn't tight enough then he made sure it was idling OK and helped me set it. then asked if there was anything else he could do my order # was 04101 so ya know I'm for real lastly I'm breaking the engine correctly as instructed might be a good idea to follow manufacturers and their advice.20 mph first 100 miles then 25 mph next 100 your fault if you run it full power & have engine problems David made sure (so did the manufacture! nobody's fault but yer own if not followed) I recommend them and the sales and service Lastly my left mirror broke ( it was my fault) shipped the next day I see all those one * stars read mine please Rex Harris read more

I searched online and called to order (2) 2012 150 cc's and verified they were indeed in stock - Scooter Depot US handled all concerns I had accordingly. The scooters are shipped FREIGHT. It is not like FedEx. Ready to ship means the freight company is putting together a freight delivery. It could take weeks for it to arrive at destination. Be patient. You do get the MSO paperwork a few weeks after you notify them though and a follow up E-mail is helpful. The scooters themselves REQUIRE mechanical work to be done in order to operate them safely. Before I even started it, I changed the fluids, replaced the fuel line, put on NEW clamps and checked all electrical connections. I also changed out the light bulbs. The bike panels were screwed back in with a dab of latex to avoid any future loosening and all bolts were "blue" loctite. The Velocity 150cc Chinese scooter is a delight!! Prepare it out of the crate correctly, and you will have many years of fun riding it. Use premium gas only and add Stabil. Happy Motoring... read more
