Great pizza spot on Sanibel island. Walked in a little after 8pm and ordered to go pizza. Was ready in no timeand we brought back to our place. Was still hot and smelled awesome. We dove right in and enjoyed the thin crust version of their pizza. They have a regular crust which is a little thicker, but we wanted to go thin. They also offer a Detroit style. They offered flavored crust but we passed so we could taste the pizza and dough. The sauce has a sweet type sauce but not too sweet. Sausage is real sausage pieces not sausage slices like many do down here. Clean inside. Friendly and fast service. Saw a bunch of to go orders come in right after we ordered.

I've had a lot of pizza, but Scooter's Detroit-style is on another level. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside, light and airy on the inside, and every bite was packed with flavor. You can tell this isn't just pizza -- it's made with real care and quality ingredients. Honestly, one of the best Detroit-style pizzas I've ever had.

Not bad at all since we brought home half the pizza as leftovers. OMG, I think it is one of THE BEST pizzas I've ever eaten! I love the thin crust, lots of cheese & meat. Normally I have to ask for ranch dressing to "cover" the pizza flavors I don't care for but not this pizza! I ate it as prepared & it was SOOOO DELICIOUS! The restaurant was immaculately clean. Plenty of seating. Nice music ambience. There's also a bar with TVs. And my husband said the men's bathroom was spotless. The waitress (owner?) was extremely friendly & very accommodating. We will definitely return.

Very interesting. I wish I had gotten our server's name, but she was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and understanding, and communicative when our food wasn't coming out as quickly as it probably should have. Our waitress felt like a Southern grandma who cared about us. She really made the whole evening worthwhile. As a vegan, I had wished they offered more options, but I settled on ordering a pizza with veggies and no cheese. I liked the crust which was thin and crispy. There were a good amount of vegetables too. I ended up adding a little salt and red pepper flakes to make it more flavorful. Oh, and I ordered a soda which came in a very large cup! No need for a refill.

The atmosphere was so fantastic and we loved looking at all the pics. Our waitress was the absolute best. We think her name was Kelly. We got calamari and Shiahito peppers. They were so amazing. We got grouper tacos, classic hamburger, fried grouper and shrimp, Parmesan oysters and chicken wings. We all gave five starts reviews! We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

There's numerous tv screens to watch all the games - some booths even have their own screen. Aside from the sports decor, The Sanibel Grill has a very similar menu to Timbers Restaurant next door - I'm pretty sure the two are one and the same and share the same kitchen. I ordered the Grouper Fish tacos. You can get them blackened, fried, or grilled. I opted for fried. Note that the Sanibel Grill is known for their signature cornflake crunchy batter - but the grouper fish tacos are the lightly breaded bites and not cooked in their signature batter. The grouper was nicely cooked - tender and delicate bites. They used corn tortillas, which didn't fall to pieces while eating, but they were pretty flimsy (it was easy for a grouper bite to roll out). The tacos are served with rice pilaf topped with black beans which was on the bland side (nothing to write home about). I would've liked a hit of lime to add to my tacos, but the waitress never came back to check on us. Service is minimal. This is bar service all around. My friend ordered the combo basket (Grouper and fried shrimp) and comes with a side of fries and cole slaw. You can hear the crunch - I can see why it's their signature. My sister ordered the shrimp scampi with rice pilaf (she was hoping for pasta but that was not a side option - it's either rice pilaf or potatoes - smashed, French fried, or sweet potato fries). It also came with fresh green beans. The shrimp were nicely cooked and super buttery. She also ordered the crab bisque which was creamy and had good crab flavor, but I wouldn't say it was overloaded with crab meat. We finished the meal with a slice of Florida's signature key lime pie. The slice was small but had giant key lime flavor. It was very sweet but this was my favorite key lime pie slice from our whole trip. The Sanibel Grill gave us average food and average service. No military discount here.

After spending most of the morning and part of the afternoon on the beach, hubs was craving pizza. Me? I had my doubts. Outside of NYC, I wasn't exactly convinced Sanibel was about to serve up a killer pie. I was wrong. Because for these parts, it's tasty alright. Dante's has a unique layout with a winding staircase leading up to a circular dining area. We started with the jumbo shrimp appetizer, doused in this creamy, spicy, garlicky, Parmesany-packed sauce that was totally outstanding. Then we each ordered our own 10" individual pie. Hubs went with the pepperoni, I chose the white pizza with mushrooms, minus the prosciutto. He loved his and I enjoyed mine too- but it needed more mushrooms. As for the pizza, the base is kinda thin but not paper-thin, the crust has a light and airy rise with a crisp feel- but not like a cracker. Shout-out to our server, Julia, who was friendly and attentive. Looks like Dante's has really stepped up for good. Hope it doesn't change.
