Was on this side of the water and heard you can get this plate for $16. Definitely a good (around $19) well spent. The restaurant was spacious but not really a lot of people sitting. While ordering I noticed they had a sign that said they were short staffed so please be patient. I definitely understood so didn't mind. After about 30 minutes I was a bit agitated since other people were getting there food that came in way after me. Shortly after I got my food and realized this is more official restaurant style food so it takes a minute. The ribs were soooooo good and this was my first time having Musubi ($3 for 1 or $9 for 3) and it was really good and a nice big size too. My spare ribs came with two big rice hills and macaroni salad. Neither had much flavor but were great next to the ribs. Definitely big portions.Definitely will come back after calling in my order fist. Super sweet staff! read more

Stopped by on our way to VB based on reviews. The BBQ was very tasty (yummy ribs, brisket and pulled pork trio for $18), but for me the real star was the AMAZING fried chicken. Hot, freshly made, so crispy and tasty, and an awesome deal at $5 for 4 pieces. Service was so friendly and prompt. The beet salad was a bit too sour for our taste--but the coleslaw was solid. We were looking for a place to eat after spending the morning touring the Yorktown historic sites. Scoot's looks like a hole in the wall, which is usually the best bbq. I got the slider trio with fried pickles. My husband got the brisket with cole slaw. Great brisket with a nice bark on it. The pulled pork was also good but not overly smoky. Me and my wife decided to have date night at Scoot's this week. I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the brisket burger and she ordered scoot's bowl special. I consider myself somewhat of a burger connoisseur and let me say that this was by far the best burger I have ever eaten. It felt as if it was melting in my mouth. My wife was also extremely happy with her bowl. And as an always welcome bonus the service was exceptional. The price was also very good. I spent 33 dollars on our meals and that's with an 18% tip. In a world where most nights when I go out to eat I expect to spend at least 40-50 dollars this was definitely a blessing. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Yummy. We stopped here one day on a whim. Glad we did. The brisket was seasoned and blackened on the outside but still moist on the inside. The pulled pork was moist. The pulled chicken bordered on dry. But the sauces were great! Oh and the sweet potato fries and hush puppies were fabulous. The seafood chowder was so flavorful. The only really sub-par item was the macaroni and cheese which was bland and dry. But, considering one of our party was from Memphis and liked the brisket.... high praise. My wife and I ordered the following: Ribs w/ mashed potatoes: Ribs were good but a little fatty for our tastes mashed potatoes were good Combo plater w/ fried pickles: Chicken and pulled pork we're both juicy and delicious. Fried pickles we're perfect breading was done well not falling off But they would have benefited with some dipping sauce ( I asked for Mayo and made my own by mixing the chipotle bbq it was very good). The brisket was a little dry but we did come at the end of the day. Wings with "Buffalo" sauce: I did not care for these at all the wings were cooked well and not dried out but what they call buffalo sauce is not the same as what I'm used to. It looked like the took Texas Pete's mixed it with oil and called it a sauce. Macaroni and cheese: Bland but not bad I wouldn't order it again though. Sauces: BBQ- Good not to sweet Chipotle BBQ- Delicious heat but not so much that you can't taste the food Carolina Sauce- Too oily with little flavor would have preferred trail it's traditional Carolina BBQ sauce. Facility: Clean booth/ table seating you pay first and they bring your food to your table. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I would have rated a 3 if there service from the staff wasn't so incredible I will be going back. read more

We stumbled upon this place while in Yorktown. We were certainly not disappointed! My husband and daughter had the smoked wings, which were very good. I had the crab cake and it was delicious, along with their mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very creamy and had a slight smoky flavor. The crab cake was one of the best ones I have had. That may sound strange for a BBQ restaurant, but one of the employees told me they also have a seafood restaurant, which explains why the crab cake was so good. We would definitely eat here again. Stopped by here while travelling. Food was delicious and generously portioned. I loved the brisket especially, smoky, tender, and juicy with a great bark. The Scoot bowl was tasty but could have done with a bit less mac and a bit more meat; the pulled pork it had though was excellent. Sides were pretty good as well, my favorite being surprisingly the beans. Prices are reasonable and it's clean and casual. Most importantly they seem to know their BBQ. Second time here and it was even better then the first! First things first, I love the decorations.. cute kind of barn like feel. Not a lot of dine in so just be aware, since it does get pretty busy. So when you walk in, there is a huge chalk board with the menu on it. I love that it is to the side before the register so if you need a few minutes to pick what you want, others can go in front of you. The cashier was really nice and helpful. They had a special (it might be a Thursday special) called AUSTIN SAMPLER. If that is on the menu...get it! It is easily shareable between two people.. maybe even three. OK Food time! Italian sausage- A+- Yes yes yes yes! It has a little kick- but not too spicy! we got about 8 pieces in our sampler, and they were perfect. I recommend Ribs- B - only because mine were seriously all fatty- not really anyones fault, but that kind of disapointed me. BUT the taste of the meat that was on there was REALLY good.. and they fell right off the bone. My friend who shared with me said hers were amazing, so yes I recommend Brisket- A - SOOO good! I tried it without sauce and with. Both were good and meat was very tender. I would get this everytime! Onion Rings- D- I didnt like them really. You get alot of them, but they are really small and stringy. Also, they werent really crispy just kind of crunchy and soft. I love onion rings but these are not my style. I would not get these again Sweet Potato Fries - A+ - My friend had never had them (I know right?!) and she was in heaven! These were perfectly cooked and seasoned just right - would get again for sure Although I am a firm believer if the meat has been slow cooked, it shouldn't need sauce- I tried all of the different ones. They were all legit really good! I'd use any of them again. I didn't like the coleslaw at all, but I dont really like coleslaw anyway so don't take my advice on that one! Super friendly service and the food is delicious and very well-priced. We drove over from an event at the yorktown waterfront and it was worth the 8 min drive. We'd been here once before for takeout when we were camping at camp Cardinal. This time we ate in. They have a super nice patio that was great for kids bc they could run around a bit while we waited. The wait was only like 5 mins though and our food was brought out to us. The meat was delicious and smoky. We loved all the sides. Definitely recommend the cucumber salad and the fried pickles (the pickle were too spicy for my 7 year old but we loved them!). We'll be back next time we're out this way! read more

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a hot minute! I split the Texas Trio with my aquanaut and though I did end up eating some of there perfect Fried Chicken it was still Delicious! Only one bad thing is that one minute it's empty with nobody in it except the staff and the next minute a line quietly waiting to get in. Have been driving by this place for years; always heading somewhere else. My wife and I had a free day, so we decided to stop. I am so glad that we did. The restaurant is rustic and clean, the wait staff is super, and the owner visited us at our table to check on things, and we got some great tips for checking out the surrounding area. And the food was great! One of my measures of a good barbeque place is the sauces they use. The Scoot's House sauce is good, but their Chipotle sauce is fantastic. It was a great complement to the brisket, chicken, and pork barbeque, and when mixed with the House sauce, it was out of this world on the barbeque turkey!
