    Breakfast Burrito
    David O.

First trip to this location, although we have been to their Tuano location. This one is a little smaller, but busier and newer (or at least fresher looking). Decor was pleasant and as a marked improvement over the other location, no carpet to be stained and hold odors! Today we had: The Lumberjack - omelette made with potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham & cheddar cheese & choice of Toast (English muffin in this case). And a Breakfast Burrito - Ham, Scrambled Eggs, Onions, Peppers, Cheddar Cheese. Served with a side of Sour Cream (passed on this) & Salsa added Avocado for $2. Both were very well-sized and filling. Nothing fancy. Just good food at a reasonable price for what you receive. Waitress was very pleasant, polite and friendly, and she was prompt and efficient without being too intrusive.

Country Fried Steak with sausage gravy, potatoes, scrambled eggs and a biscuit! Delicious

Had an excellent experience eating here for Williamsburg restaurant week. Food: Chicken and dumplings were delicious! Salad was also good, not the biggest fan of their ranch (too much dill)) and too many onions but was able to pick them off. Chocolate cake that came with the restaurant week meal was very good! Husband has their club sandwich with fries and it was also very good! Our server that night was extremely sweet and kind. Will be back!

Love honey butters kitchen!! It's located in a strip mall next to crumbl cookie and Publix where parking is plentiful. This is one of those diners with just really good and simple comfort food! I got the lumber jack omelette with all the meats and a side of french toast to share. Both were great, but the French toast was hands down my favorite. Service fast and friendly. I'll always come back when in Williamsburg!

The food here was pretty good. I got the shrimp and grits and the shrimp were cooked well and the grits were very saucy. It did get a bit loud and cramped after a while, so maybe come earlier in the day. Despite how busy they were, the servers were fast and friendly, checking on us periodically.

Great spot ! Fried apples are more stewd then fried! Chicken fried steak was good. But! small! As they grow I can see the les attention of detail. They are still the standard! Great service ! Love the brunch atmosphere!

I had ordered a breakfast burrito w/o sour cream but with avocado along with tea. It was so perfect in that the tortilla was slightly grilled just to make it have it the crunch factor and the extra money I paid for the avocado was well spent because the burrito had so much of it! Hubby had the Lumberjack omelette and an English muffin as he loves meat. The food came quickly and our server was so sweet, realizing that I was a slow nibbler. This Honey Butter's was so much cleaner than the other one on Richmond Rd. lacking the carpet, thank goodness, and hence that certain smell that wasn't the most attractive. This one was well decorated, with the presence of an attractive bar, a large screen television all lined up beautifully. Kudos!

Buffalo chicken wrap w/ onion rings

3.9/4. One of the better breakfasts/brunch we had in VA for sure. Our servers name was Kiara and she was great. Food took an average amount of time to come out even with it being 10 people. Food was good. My brother wanted me to let everyone know the catfish was and I quote "bussin." So only two critiques. One, was that my buffalo chicken wrap was wrapped in away in which I did not get a bite of everything as I ate it. (Ex: the lettuce was on the left, onion middle, the chicken on the right.) It needs to be slightly more...well wrapped? Second, I'm assuming it was the manager from the way everyone reacted to her, but she was not pleasant. There were a few times that our party commented on the way she spoke to the staff. And before we left she fired one of the servers on the spot! I'm not sure what happened and I won't assume. But it was sort of a spectacle and it felt very awkward and unprofessional. I've worked in restaurants and I know it can be a very high stress and chaotic environment. However, professionalism is still needed. Just something to keep in mind, but keep up the good work.

Corned Beef Hash, eggs, biscuit, garlic home fries!

Fabulous service from our waitress, Aliana; delicious food and coffee. I had the corned beef hash (delicious even though out of a can), scrambled eggs cooked perfectly, flaky biscuit, and garlic home fries. This is a great restaurant!

We went to Honey's on a Sunday around 10:45 am. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated at the bar. I previously was here on a weekday and there was no wait time. I had the tropical mimosa and my partner had the Irish coffee. Both were very strong and a great deal for the price. I ordered the corn beef hash, my partner had the breakfast sandwich. The corned beef came w garlic potatoes which were amazing. The beef itself was not overly salty or runny, which I appreciate. The breakfast sandwich was surprisingly light, and very filling. On a previous visit I had a blueberry pancake, scrambled egg whites, and turkey sausage. The pancake in itself was very filling. My egg whites were super fluffy, and very enjoyable, the turkey sausage was definitely a frozen sausage patty, which is to be expected and tasted as such. Our server at the bar was as engaging as we wanted her to be. She made the experience and ambiance feel warm and welcoming. I did notice that the bourbon and alcohol selection was good. It's nothing overly special or specific, but it's good enough that most folks will find something they like. Honey's is certainly a place we will be back to.

    Monte Cristo with tots
    Odalis R.

Came in for lunch on a Thursday and it was pretty busy. I was drawn here because I saw they had Monte Cristo on the menu, which I love. This however was not your typical Monte Cristo. Usually it has a nice crunchy exterior because it's fried but this one was more like French toast bread. The service was good but the food was just ok.

Williamsburg is known for its pancake houses, especially those located on Richmond Road. This Honey Butter's is located off Monticello Road and is more of a locals' place since it's away from the tourist area. We visited recently as a group of six around 10:30 am on a Sunday. The breakfast rush was wrapping up, and we were seated almost immediately. They offer a broad menu of breakfast items, all reasonably priced with perfect portions. I prefer egg whites and was able to request an omelet made using them. It was delicious!!! One of our group ordered the eggs benedict, which came with potatoes and ham. The eggs were more soft cooked than runny, but still very good. We recommend Honey Butters if you're in the area and looking for a good breakfast.

Do they have waffles on the menu?

Pancakes, corn cakes, French toast and French toast sticks, but not waffles!

Thinking of a place for brunch in Williamsburg on a Saturday, but wondering about drink options at this location?

Our memory is that regular breakfast drinks are available...coffee, juice, etc...no alcoholic drinks.

However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

The fresh catch meal included a simple house salad, and it took 30 minutes for the salad to arrive. Shortly after the salad arrived, our meals came out, and they were lukewarm. I had the grilled mahi mahi with lemon dill butter over some roasted fingerling potatoes and corn. While the fish itself was a nice piece and well prepared, its not-quite-warm temperature made it less appetizing to eat. The same was true for our other meals: the seafood pot pie and the mahi mahi fish tacos. While our waitress offered to have them all reheated, we both didn't have time as we had theatre tickets and reheating the tacos with their toppings, the pot pie with its pastry crust, and the seared fish didn't sound appealing. The restaurant's dining room was comfortable, and the bar area looked vibrant. Hopefully they are still breaking in their new facility, as we liked dining with them in their previous location.

We went on a Sunday afternoon at 3 PM and were promptly seated. The atmosphere was fine, pretty open and unexceptional, but modern and new. Big screen in front of us playing the Sunday football game. Server was quick to get drink orders in, 12 oz. Commonwealth Modern 'Smores stout for $8 and my wife got a $16 Peppermint Espresso Martini. I appreciated the nice Commonwealth stout and the price was fine. The Peppermint Espresso martini was mediocre and very overpriced considering that. Our food took a long time. Like 3 apologies from the server long. There were 2 parties of like 10 that were in process when we sat so I get it. But I do feel like something should be given when it's 45 minutes plus on food. Anyway, on to the food.... My kid is not much of an eater and they did not have any type of kid menu. Ended up with a soft pretzel for $13. Add cheese fondue and it's $16. It was very big and delicious.... At $16 it's hard to be excited about it though. The cheese fondue definitely made the pretzel. I was not overly hungry and got She crab soup $8.50 for the cup and a Caesar salad $5. The soup was good, they add the crab on top so you can see they give you about half a cup and for the price it was good. Definitely not the best she crab soup in the area, but good enough. Caesar was just croutons, Parmesan and dressing and was fine. My wife got the "fresh catch" Chilean Sea Bass for $33. It was kind of fishy tasting. Fresh fish is rarely fishy. It was overcooked, horribly plated and the blackened seasoning had minimal flavor. It was bad. We asked for some tarter for it and it made it tolerable. The server offered to replace it, but having just waited 45 minutes for food we weren't going to chance something else, particularly since we were with another couple. While we were waiting I had 2 $3 special Budweisers and my wife had a $14 Snowflake Margarita. They were all fine. My kids sprite was $4 which feels outrageous, but I don't know what places are charging these days for sodas. I normally don't pay attention. Bill came with another apology for all the waiting and no discount. Tough to make it as a seafood restaurant when you are struggling with your seafood. I heard their seafood nachos are excellent.... Maybe I'll give them another chance for those. My first experience was not a good one.

Someone from the kitchen rushed out with a soup bowl filled with chicken slices that looked like those Perdue rotisserie chicken slices you buy at the grocery store. Dumped them on the salad. She did apologize. Our third order was a Restaurant Week special fried oyster salad vouched for by our server, Bailey, who was pleasant and efficient. It came with corn, black beans, mixed greens, cotija cheese and a spicy dressing. It wasn't awful but I think the overall concept was weird. Fried oyster taco salad? The few oyster pieces were tasty. Maybe we were there on a bad day, which happens. The chicken salad fiasco was funny. Not a place I would drive across town to try twice. Maybe stick to burgers and plenty of beer.
