I recommend this specific dealership to everyone I despise. I am still trying to determine what is worse. My wife's Kia Sportage or the incompetent staff at this location. We purchased her vehicle from this location in 2018 and it's been a nightmare Freddy Krueger would envy. Within the first year of owning the vehicle the engine had to be replaced. It wasn't long before more issues started. I think we may have been victims to false advertising. The POS car is a hybrid and there's no mention of this in the owners manual. It burns both oil & gas. We've spent countless time and money with all these "tests" they make us, the consumer, run. The first "service manager" we dealt with was actually fired....seems like they may need to cut several more folks loose. I would prefer having mouth breather's from the local Vo-tech school work on our car...they might actually be able to figure out what is wrong with it.. We used to take her car to visit family, but we now prefer taking Septa. At least we know we'll get there. I am close to calling my carpenter and having him remove the floorboard. A Fred Flintstone car would be a significant upgrade than this Kia Sportage from Scott Kia in Springfield. This car has burned more oil than Iraq during the 1991 Gulf War. I scheduled a service appointment on 6/28 for 7/8 at 8:00 AM -- the first appointment of the day. I dropped my car off on time and was informed that despite my early slot, they may or may not get to my vehicle due to parts and labor availability. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I had planned ahead and expected timely service. The service advisor said he would call me by noon if my car wasn't going to be touched. Noon came and went -- no call, no update. I'm a nurse and can't keep missing work while my car sits untouched. I tracked the status through the provided link and it was still marked as "arrival" hours later. I finally had to catch an Uber to go pick up my vehicle, which hadn't even been moved. Not so much as an apology. It's always something at this location -- a big inconvenience every time. I made a 9:45am appointment to have my car serviced. I arrived at that time and checked in and they said they'd expedite the service. I was informed at 12pm that they were beginning the inspection of the car. At 3pm I drove away. I had needed one tire replaced and another patched--exactly what I had said I needed when booking the appointment. They even charged me $5 for filling the new tire. read more

On 6/22/26 I had my 2024 Kia Soul inspected by my mechanic. He found the left rear shock absorber leaking. Knowing the part was under warranty, he advised me to take it to a Kia dealer for repair. Following his advice, I called the nearest one which was Scott Kia. I explained my problem and was told that even though the car was under warranty and my mechanic already found the faulty part, I would have to pay a non-refundable $290 diagnostic charge. I asked what is the point of the warranty if I have to pay that upfront. After emailing the management, I received a phone message from a woman from the Service Department who told me that I was misinformed by their previous representative about non-refundable charge and if I was still interested in the service to call her. I called and left a message asking for her to contact me. No response. I then emailed her. No response. I finally spoke to a sales rep who mistakenly called me about purchasing a new car. I told him I'm just trying to get my present car fixed and to please ask the service rep to call me. Nothing. I then contacted Kia customer care, explained the situation, and was told I should find another Kia dealer. I asked why that was necessary for a car still under warranty. I didn't find the response encouraging about the Kia brand. It was at this point I decided to record my experience with the BBB. When I logged on to their website, I was surprised by the number of negative reviews listed for Scott Kia. After reading some of the reviews, I thought at least my experience wasn't personal. I recently purchased a "Certified Lite" vehicle from Scott Kia of Springfield, and my experience has been extremely disappointing. I specifically went there to purchase a 2017 Kia Niro. I was assured by both the salesman and the used car manager that the vehicle had a spectacular service record, was very well maintained, and was a dependable car. Within three weeks of ownership--before I even made my first payment--the vehicle developed major issues: a faulty catalytic converter, a coolant leak, and no heat. I am now being told the repairs will cost approximately $4,000, nearly half of what I paid for the car. I understand that used vehicles can have problems. However, when a car is marketed as "Certified" and sold by a dealership, customers reasonably expect it to meet certain standards. Experiencing this level of mechanical failure within three weeks is unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I first contacted the service department, they confused my recently purchased vehicle with one I owned eight years ago. The service technician who inspected my vehicle was not even aware that I had just bought it there. That level of internal miscommunication does not inspire confidence. The used car manager has been polite, but politeness is not accountability. Rather than taking responsibility, I was offered the option to trade the vehicle in at a higher cost to me because of the repairs they now claim are needed. I was also told to come in on 2/23/2026 to discuss options, only to arrive and find the dealership closed, with no prior notice. Promised follow-up calls regarding alternative vehicles never happened. This situation is especially difficult because my daughter was involved in a severe accident in June that killed her best friend and nearly took her life. I was out of work for over a month, and it has been an incredibly challenging year for our family both emotionally and financially. We rely on this vehicle to get her to rehabilitation appointments and for me to get to work. I did not purchase this car expecting perfection--but I did expect honesty, reliability, and support from a dealership when serious issues arose almost immediately. I spent $9,000 in good faith, expecting a dependable vehicle from a reputable business. Instead, I am facing thousands of dollars in repairs within weeks of purchase and very little effort to make it right. My car has been in their shop for 10 days, and not once did anyone bother to call me with an update. Total radio silence unless I reached out first. Chris has been awful, he called me three separate times after I tried contacting him multiple times just to ask the exact same question each time. No progress updates, no clear explanation of what was being done, and clearly no coordination within their team. After all this time, absolutely nothing has been done to my vehicle. Professional, knowledgeable staff and clean, comfortable facilities. This place is great and has been taking good care of our Kia Sedona for several years now. They always let me know what needs replacing and what's just optional, they don't try to force a sale on things I don't need, they just keep me informed. The only downside is it's pricier than some other places, but that's the cost of having people who actually know your vehicle and ALWAYS use the right parts. I'd cut corners in past years on past cars and wow it makes a difference!! To us it's worth the extra to know it's done right the first time. SAFETY ISSUES In 2023 I had my 2020 KIA Sportage in for safety features not functioning properly three times and could not find problem LANE DEPARTURE : twice it kept pulling my car towards a guardrail . used all my strength to get it back towards the right. FORWARD COLLISION: At times it did not alert or would not break at all. It would suddenly alert and break when there was nothing in front of me. I spoke with head of repairs and my customer services reps. I stayed " why can't you find the issues, this has been going in for months. I was told "well we need an incident " . I said an incident! like the car is pulling me towards a guardrail but there is no guardrail and the car goes flipping over down a steep cliff , car is ruined and I am dead or severely injured ?" Their reply was " YES, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. a few months later my forward collision did not alert and would bot break. MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND I SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES THAT ARE STILL BEING TREATED ! Thank god the party I hit was not injured. To put it briefly, We were shown the wrong car TWICE, which was an upgraded model from what we had originally test driven before we signed our final contract and even put a bow on it while showing us features on the car that we were not going to have for an hour until my husband pointed out that the rear mats were different from what we originally saw days before. Then they had the audacity to charge us even more money than we agreed to on a contract the night before. They acknowledged this and then refused to correct their mistake while telling us they would and just pushed it around to managers and we STILL have not heard back. It only has 65,000 miles on it. It was less than 1 month past warranty when I brought it in and, despite them being able to help a customer with a problem, the service manager has told me that they have decided not to. My car was taken to Scott Kia of Springfield several times and each time I got my car back, it was doing worse than how I originally sent it in. I continued to send my car there because it was under warranty. The last time I sent my car there was because it was having issues accelerating. I received a call from the service tech telling me that the spark plug "broke off" inside my engine and I now need a new transmission to the tune of $9000. I requested to speak to a manager, was told that one would call me back, but no one did. I called back a week later and was told there is nothing they could do about it, but I can trade my car in for a newer car from their dealership. I flat out refused the offer, since their technician caused the damage to begin with. I've tried to get my car fixed/repaired or come to some type of resolution with management, but I was told verbatim: "There is nothing you can do to us. The tech made a mistake, we are not going to pay for it, so just accept our offer and trade the vehicle in." I am telling everyone do NOT go to this dealership! They are ripping people off and could not care less about it's customers. Last week after my car wouldn't start on numerous occasions, I decided to take it to Scott Kia. Waited 2.5 hours only to be told it could be the starter but...since it started for them, they couldn't just change a good started..The starter is not good if it's not turning on for me, the owner. On Monday morning, left out to clean my car off and to let it warm, the car doesn't start! Tried 10 different times, finally a call was placed to AAA. The receptionist then ask me if I am aware of the AAA policy, I respond no, she states that when your car is dropped off by AAA it is put into rotation, well that was Monday at 7:30 am and it is now Wednesday afternoon! Needless to say, if the problem would have been. Address last week, this would have not happened this week. I have missed 1/2 day of work, 1 full day and have had to pay back and fourth for an Uber. Drove ok, a little 'spwoopy' but I figured it was a normal suv handling characteristic. Six thousand miles down the road, the front end is sweaking and rattling. Front right wheel shakes back and forth at rest. Bottom line; my mechanic has to replace both front strut assemblies- $1355. He said there's no way this would have passed inspection. Spoke to the dealer, with predictable results - I should have brought it to them (15 day wait), they didn't see anything in their State inspection (not credible considering the advanced wear), they would need to see the parts, etc. In short, too bad for me. I came here with my friend who is in America for schooling. With that being said, she is here on a visa and she needed a car for transportation to/from work. We first went to Murray Kia of conshohocken and got a really good deal. We then went to Scott Kia just to see other offers and look around. When we arrived, it was going okay. However, when we were test driving the car, the gentleman who was with us was not very informational with the specs or details of the vehicle. He just sat there, breathing heavily, giving directions on where to go. When we got back to the dealership, the gentleman offered us a quote that was insanely higher than the one from Murray Kia. He stated that it was for required additional features to go with our warranty. They essentially wanted like $1000 for "limitless key replacement" in case we lose our key. I'm not sure who would lose their keys enough for them to warrant $1000 or more worth of replacements. He also spoke down to us as if we were uninformed about virtually everything. Anyways, we told him we didn't need those features which he said that we can't get the car without them. We then showed him the prices that Murray Kia offered, he walked away for like ten minutes, came back, THREW his papers across his desk at us and went "yeah we cant do this for you" and just left. I've had my 2013 Kia Optima since 2014. My car has had many recalls it had to get a new engine in 2018 (thankfully it was still under warranty) my only reason for keeping my car is that it is now included in a settlement of a lifetime warranty for powertrain parts with a lifetime warranty so it's best to keep my car and maintain it. Now recently my car needed repairs engine, work due to a squirrel or something climbing up under my hood and chewing one of my wires. I had it towed to this dealership (not knowing the problem at the time) they told me what the problem was and of course it's not covered in warranty so the repairs was going to cost me $868.46 for a cut wire long story short my uncle who is a certified mechanic told me not to pay because that was too much if it's only for a cut wire he fixed the wire in 5 min my car is back to running smoothly. Please look for other options for repairs they'll throw all these fancy mechanical terms around and go as far to explaining how complicated the job will be but shop around! This past summer my ac was not working went to the Kia dealership and diagnostics said I needed a new ac condenser and compressor the cost over 1500! Went to my mechanic and paid a lot less saved myself 100's. They are just too high if warranty won't cover the cost go somewhere else. We were very disappointed in our experience with Scott Kia. It all started out good when we arrived on 2/24/24 to check out two Tellurides they had on their lot. We found out from Vinny, the salesperson, that the black one had been taken home for the weekend by Steve, the manager, but the blue one was on the lot. It had a sold sticker on the front windshield. We were told it wasn't sold but available if we wanted to purchase it. After some discussion and checking with incoming Tellurides we put a $1000 deposit on a brand new one coming in around March 9th. If we weren't satisfied with the Telluride our $1000 would be refunded or the money could go towards the purchase of the car. After looking for a few months at the different models and trim levels we were 99 % sure the car would be perfect. We were given a purchase agreement to share with our bank to receive a loan. A few texts on 2/26 back and forth with Vinny to verify insurance and banking information then we were ghosted. In over two weeks we didn't hear anything from Scott Kia. As March 9th approached we were getting very excited about a new car purchase. All our paperwork and bank approval was completed. We checked the Scott Kia website and it stated that the Telluride we had put a deposit on was on the lot in Springfield. The same VIN number as our purchase agreement paperwork. On March 9th we texted and emailed Vinny. On March 11th we emailed Steve. Nothing. Finally on March 14th we received a text from Vinny that he was on vacation for two weeks and would check on the vehicle once he arrived at work. The next text was to let us know the Telluride had been traded to another KIA dealership? What? How does this happen? We were in total disbelief. Vinny did finally call to say they could maybe trade another dealership for the same Telluride. At this point we were totally distrustful of Scott Kia, nobody had contacted us for over two weeks. We weren't even given the courtesy of a phone call to let us know the car had been traded. Bizarre, disrespectful, and unacceptable behavior from this dealership.
