I am extremely disappointed with my experience purchasing a Bronco from Scott Leman in Goodfield, IL, and owner Jason Nordvall. When I test-drove the Bronco, September 4th 2025 I specifically pointed out a dent in the hood and a problem with the parking sensors (they were missing) Jason personally promised me that these issues would be taken care of. He didn't just casually mention it -- he made a point of telling me that he keeps his word. We also signed a "we owe" meaning he acknowledged the issues and it was part of the purchase agreement and he would fix them. I believed him. I purchased the vehicle. This week coming up has been ONE YEAR and those issues still have not been taken care of. We have spent months making phone calls and sending texts trying to get Jason to do what he promised when he sold us the vehicle. Instead of standing behind his word, he eventually stopped responding and blocked my husband's phone number. So I messaged him on August 8th advising him I would give him until the end of this month to make it right. I guess he decided he wasn't going to make it right and would rather be in small claims court. That is where I am heading first thing in the morning. What makes this even more frustrating is that I specifically waited nearly a year before writing this review because I wanted to give Jason every opportunity to do the right thing. I didn't immediately run to social media or leave a bad review. I gave him time. I gave him chances. I trusted that a business owner would eventually honor the commitment he made to me. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Jason was very quick to talk about how important it is to keep your word when he was trying to earn my business. Unfortunately, almost a year of waiting, repeated communication attempts, and ultimately being blocked tells me everything I need to know about how much that "word" was actually worth. If you're considering buying a vehicle here, my advice is simple: DONT DO IT! Go somewhere else!!! This review isn't about wanting something extra or unreasonable. This dealership came recommended by our insurance agent, but unfortunately we had a terrible experience. We purchased a low cost, used vehicle... our only stipulation was that we wanted a car that was in good working condition with no immediate issues. On the drive home, the check engine light came on. The car started pulling hard to the right. The pulling was caused by a low tire... Scott Leman Auto didn't even bother to check the tire pressure. It gets worse. The first time we tried to turn the car on upon returning home, it wouldn't start. The starter was bad. We had to replace that. Then we realized the battery was shot. We had to replace that. We obviously immediately called Scott Leman himself - he sold us the car. He was no help and said "the car was fine when you left here", and insinuated that it was somehow our fault. Later that first week of ownership, smoke came from the hood. We had the car towed... radiator needed to be replaced. Another call to Scott Lehman... I'll paraphrase, "Tough sh*t." We wanted to return the car - we even said we'd buy a different one and spend a few more bucks to make sure it worked. No chance. Then we asked for some of our money back to cover the immediate repairs needed on the vehicle (again... all within the first 3 days of buying it - battery, starter, radiator). Scott was unwilling to even offer that. We were patient and reasonable, but apparently the only satisfaction we'll get is by letting everybody know what kind of experience to expect from Scott Lehman. And more importantly, what kind of guy he really is once he's got your money. Steer clear of this dump. I would never, ever in a million years consider dealing with this guy again. read more

What a joke! We dealt with very dishonest man named Butch. We live 2 hours away and spoke with him twice, same number ($23, 800 for Ford Transit) was discussed both times. We drive there, discuss that number again. Sit there for a couple hours as they pretend they're working on something. Then Butch hides in the office (can't even show his face) as he tells the owner he told us $28,800... we obviously said that's not what we were told and Butch stayed in the office the whole time as we left, what a man!The owner acted like he cared and said he would make things right even if he wasn't able to get the price right... iit's been 1 week and not even a phone called. I would be so ashamed and embarrassed! Very very deceitful practices! Highly recommend not giving these guys the time of day read more

This dealership lacks all sense of morality. I have never encountered someone who is so unwilling to do the right thing and take ownership of their careless and damaging acts. You would think in a small town you would go above and beyond for your local neighbors, my Aunt trusted this dealership, sadly to our detriment. I arrived to purchase my Aunt's car that was in perfect working condition and ended up with a car that I'm unable to drive, that I have to pay to transport 2.5 hours home and pay a mechanic to repair. The fault was theirs; they put a hard top on the car INCORRECTLY with no knowledge of how to put a hard top on this make/model which caused damage to the hydraulic system resulting in oil/hydraulic fluid spilling out into the interior of the car. Their decision was reckless, not to mention against my wishes. If you don't know how to do something DON'T DO IT. It's common sense. I specifically asked them to leave it off and said I would gladly come back for it BUT I was told that would be INCONVENIENT for them to store it for a few days. They could have easily Googled instructions or pulled up a YouTube video that could have assisted them prior to their attempt and averted this whole disaster. Unfortunately they chose to wing it and things went from bad to worse. The hard top was stuck in the front and jammed into place on the back passenger side, the back driver side was not in place and completely unsecured. When I noticed something leaking, I was told it was just water and no big deal. As I got closer it was very obvious it was not water, it was an oil like fluid. I was informed by my mechanic that when the top is put on incorrectly and the pins are out of sync it will become locked in that position and the only way to remove it is manually with a special tool. He also said the oil leaking was from the hydraulic valve that was damaged when they put it on wrong. I was unable to drive the car home in this condition so the salesman drove it to my Aunt's house a mile down the road. He drove about 15 mph and was covered head to toe in oil when he got there. He fully admitted they had no idea what they were doing or why there was oil leaking... so WHY DID YOU DO IT THEN?! He had no response. My mom drove him back to the dealership and we had no choice but to leave the car at my Aunt's house as it was unsafe to drive home. When I called Scott to discuss a resolution, he lied and said he had NO IDEA what I was talking about. He tried to deny the entire situation had even taken place. I said I know you know what happened, your employee drove the car to my Aunt's house and was covered in oil. He obviously couldn't deny that so he changed his story and said the hard top was leaking oil the entire time they had it therefore they didn't damage anything it was already damaged - lie #2. Either (A) he has zero knowledge of cars or (B) he thinks I have zero knowledge of cars and would believe that. His claim is UNTRUE - oil is not stored in a hard top; it is stored in the hydraulic system located in the car. Nor had this been previously leaking per my Aunt. When I explained to him this was not a feasible story he changed his tune yet again and acknowledged the damage occurred BUT said that I had helped put the hard top on therefore I was responsible for the damage. This was by far the most appalling of all the lies he was spewing. I played no part in putting the top on; I was an innocent bystander in their moronic attempt to put it on. He knows this, I know this and so does everyone who witnessed this ordeal. I now have a car that I can't drive and have to pay who knows how much to repair it. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. My Aunt will never do business with them again. It's pretty sad that he would pass on the opportunity to be a decent human being over $250! I felt at the very least they should pay the $250 transport fee so I could get the car home, to which he replied I was crazy if I thought he was going to give me any money. Moral of the story: Scott Leman is a man who lacks integrity. read more

I don't know what Mike C's deal is, I am sorry he felt he didn't have a good experience, but I had nothing short of a GREAT experience buying a vehicle here. I told Scott what car I was interested in. They had just received it, so it needed detailed, and a few dents fixed. I explained that I work 3rd Shift and had gotten there about 8:00 A,M. (they open at 8:30) and he told me that he would be there the next day at 8 so I wouldn't have to wait. Sure enough he was there early the next day, the car had already been detailed, and the dents fixed. I test drove it, and bought it. Scott prices his vehicles well below book value, and I was happy at the amount we agreed upon. I will definitely recommend his Dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle.
