This is the spot where one of my favorite under the radar chefs for comfort food ended up. Chef Ronnie Esposito, of Food Network fame, is holding it down at Scottie's in East Texas. Chef Ronnie has a way of making the ordinary extraordinary and, to borrow a phrase, kick it up a notch. His expertise is making you not notice what you're ordering is top quality until it comes out to you, and you realize the delight he has made. He is a kind, open, and honest Chef, and I don't think he has ever come into conflict with another person. This place is the real deal. read more

Chef Ronnie is really working to Make Longview Great Again! His food is TREMENDOUS and the flavors are BIGLY! I had a side of Covfefe with my hamburder. I washed it all down with a delicious drink that can only be described as tasting like the tears of someone that would send an anonymous letter instead of acting like an adult and addressing their concerns directly. Light and tasty like a SNOWFLAKE. The only thing I didn't like was the ugly ORANGE stain I saw occupying the office but they explained that it would be gone by November. We had the Punjabi eggs Benedict, kids chicken and waffles, regular chicken and waffles and funfetti Pancakes. The kids chicken and waffles are the best chicken and waffles I have ever had. The Indian spices on the eggs benedict were surprising and delicious, probably the best breakfast I've ever had. It was the hubs first ever chicken and waffles and he added Buffalo sauce which was an explosion of flavors. PHENOMENAL food and service here. It's a small casual spot with really special food. The servers were sweet and attentive with us and took great care and went out of their way to be kind to my son. We will be going back for sure!! read more

We went last Friday night. Great weather. Sat outside on the patio. Only ones out there for awhile. No music to create the mood. Hey....Just a Bluetooth speaker hidden in a corner would have been incredible. The appetizer was half a true portion. But doubled in price. The beer is served in a warm brandy glass. So small. But again, double in price. See a pattern here? I had beyond overly sauced BBQ chicken for $30. The person I was with did not even finish their $30 meal. Both meals were not that great. A lot of hype on the menu but what was delivered was not as promising. We would have rather gone to JR's for the same prices, excellent food and portions....and been satisfied. East Texans want variety. What we don't want is overpriced average food. My family is from Long Island, so I travel up north several times a year to experience exquisite food and dining. My advice to the "chef" is you have a great location. Add to the ambience outside. Lower your prices. Choose a few good meals and perfect those meals. Make the portions reasonable for the prices. People will respect this choice. They will fill your tables up. Now, the meals you are serving is just chicken with entirely too much "fancy" bbq sauce on it or ceviche with not enough flavor in it. It was very bland ceviche. But for again double the price. There was so much sauce doused on the chicken - You could not even see the sides. For two people, one drink each our meal was over $110 and we were starving upon exiting. But could not wait to leave the experience. Lots of promise but this place completely misses the mark. Very unfortunate. You're not making Longview great with this product and price point. I will say, the girls on service were fine. Please consider the above - it's honest and truthful. We want Longview businesses to stay in business- but you have to be reasonable. This was our third and final time to try this restaurant. Each of the previous visits were just not great. Food is good. However do to the manner in which the owners treat their workers I will not be eating here again. I understand why the turnover rate is high and why I've never seen the same server twice on my visits. On my last visit a chef was upset after not being paid his full check after termination. The owner threw $30 at him and told him to leave. Not professional. Food can't make up for a bad environment. read more

Awesome food that is creative and original! Chef Ronnie brings food from different cultures to Longview, that you can't find at any other place in town. Really an unique place with its own identity in food, drinks and service. Love their weekly specials and always curious to see what new they would come up with next! It's a very small cafe type restaurant, friendly staff, we give the food a 3 of 5. We ordered the lobster roll, an omelette and some waffles. The lobster roll was good, omelette was probably the best thing we ordered. The waffles wasn't the best we had better ones. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive but the owner on the other hand wasn't as welcoming as you think compared to all the other restaurants were presents. He didn't even Acknowledge us as we walked in but other than that it's ok we give it a try. read more

This place is a Longview gem. My favorite aspect of it is the unique menu. This is the perfect spot to go if you're in a food rut. Don't be put off that this place is attached to a gas station. The food and decor are amazing. My wife and I had the tika masala sandwich and the pressed Cuban both were great. We also had the Mediterranean appetizer she thought the hummus a little salty but I didn't think so. The tika sandwich is spicy so be warned. Definitely going back for more and different read more
