The restaurant itself was very clean, and the service was great as well. They offer different types of payment methods so if tou have Apple or Google pay, you don't need to worry about forgetting your wallet. Onto the actual review: The gnocchi was perfectly fluffy and tasty, and the cheese on top was an amazing addition. Perfect ratio of sauce to pasta, and had no complaints. The fettuccine carbonara was amazing. I got mine with chicken, and it was so creamy and the portion was more than generous. They gave so much bacon as well, and it was very filling. My friend got the penne alla vodka and she loved it. She wasn't a fan of the broccoli but that's just a minor detail in an otherwise flawless dish. We weren't fans of the bread that was served on the side; it tasted very dough-y for us nor was it warm. I am afraid this place is not very good. I ordered delivery through Uber Eats, and while the place was rated well there, I am not impressed. I ordered Chicken Parm and fries. The fries were soggy, but I don't hold the restaurant responsible, as I don't think any other would fare better. They were tasty and I am sure if ordered fresh would have been good. The disappointment came with the Chicken Parm entree. It came with unimpressive bland bread and gobs of soggy, overcooked pasta in bland tomato sauce. The chicken itself was fine, but the actual amount of chicken was a tad skimpy, with the pasta taking up 90% of the container. I needed to add salt to the dish, as it was severely lacking. Having grown up in New York City, I am picky about my pizza. Scotto's is among the best I've tried outside of NYC. We've been ordering delivery from them most weekends for the past few years. The food is always good and the delivery prompt and polite. There have been a handful of errors over the hundred or more times we've ordered and each time they've made it right quickly and with no fuss - occasionally mistakes will happen and I've found that the real measure of a business is how they deal with them; Scotto's customer service is second to none. While I'm partial to the pizza, other family members have sampled most of the menu by now and have always been satisfied. Simply a great restaurant for Italian take out. read more

On a cold winters day. Where snow is falling and wind is blowing, my appetite is in the need for something hot for the current weather. I stumble upon an Italian restaurant with some ravioli cravings. My girlfriend and I expected this place to be another restaurant with frozen food. We were wrong...the pasta they make is freshly handmade. The ravioli has an almost perfect pasta to filling ratio worth your money. Although it may take some time it is worth it. To add on to that, the pizza has that New York style thin crust with a satisfying cheese affect. Multiple varieties of entrees and a nice selection of desserts. I recommend the place to those craving any Italian food...legit Italian food anyways. The only flaw I see in this is the time it takes for food to arrive. I ordered 2 cheesesteak subs w/mushrooms, jalapeños, & ex cheese. I received a sandwich bun w/ half jar of jalapeños. Called the resturant immediately. After on hold,a "manager" got on the phone. First, she told me, she inspected them & I was lying. Then, the reason it's bare: I didn't have tomato's, onions, mayo, & lettuce- (which I always order these subs the same) and that Scotto's only places a few slices of steak on Steak and Cheese subs. Obviously, she thought it to be acceptable that I paid for steak & cheese, & really get a side salad on a bun. I asked that they remake them. The last picture is what I received. Employees need to learn to chit-chat less. Ordered my pizza for pickup on the phone. Was told it would take 15 minutes. Arrived roughly 15 minutes later. Was told pizza was not ready yet so I sat down for ANOTHER 15 minutes until I got up and walked over to a group of 4 employees standing in a circle talking to each other and politely asked if my pizza was done. An employee walked over to where they keep all the hot pizzas for pick up and he hands it over and says "it just came out"........that's a bunch of bull crap I just watched you take it out of the heater box that it's been sitting in for 10 minutes. I have not even tasted the food yet but will never order from here again. First, the online ordering process is very frustrating. To use a coupon code that they provide on their site you must register with them....no thank you. Second, the delivery person was SO rude and demanded that I tip him in cash. There was a bit of a language barrier and when I told him that 1. I tipped online and 2. that I didn't have any cash on me, he just kept saying "no, you need cash tip". I ALWAYS tip but it is very rude and not up to the staff to mandate if and how I tip. Let me add that this was a delivery within walking distance. We order carry out and delivery very often. The steak & cheese subs as well as the chicken Philly subs are very good. So is the shrimp and pasta. Their Greek salads are really fresh and good. We just moved out to this side of ashburn (Brambleton) so we decided to give this spot a try. I've heard mixed reviews but with the proximity I figure if it's good it could be a new staple. Unfortunately it just didn't hit the mark. I did love the cheese, tasted unique in comparison to other flavors I've had at other places. Aside from that it was lacking in flavor, maybe the sauce? The crust was nice, but again nothing stood out flavor wise there. My biggest turn off was the presentation, don't get me wrong I love a greasy pizza. Probably prefer it, but this was so greasy that the toppings and cheese just slid right off the pizza. Leaving you with one bite of toppings and cheese and the rest of the slice had remnants of what hadn't drooped off. It didn't hold up well at all. Reminded me of a Gordon Ramsey episode where he tried pizza at a spot and his main complaint was how it fell apart. Not sure where these good reviews are coming from... then again, they're all for the pizza, which is difficult to mess up. But here's the real scoop on why Scotto's is a one-star and a candidate for Restaurant: Impossible: 1) Ordered online, went to pick up the order, they had no idea... guess they don't check their online orders or have a notification system. So they didn't start making my food until I got there. 2) Took about 30 minutes of waiting to get my food. During that time, I was never offered anything to drink, etc. Several people who were dining in took orders back up to the counter that were wrong. The hostess was just sitting at a table eating a salad and letting people stand around waiting. There were WAY too many cooks in the kitchen (no pun intended), and they were all running around yelling at one another and looking confused. 3) The worker who was placing orders on the counter kept leaning forward and kicking his leg back, placing his shoe on the kitchen counter where people's food was being staged. DISGUSTING! 4) The stromboli and such available for quick order looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp behind that glass case all day. Very unappetizing and unappealing. 5) After reminding the workers what I ordered a couple times, I finally got all my items, but not until I watched a woman walk up and ask where she could get silverware. Instead of having it separated and available in bins by the soda machine or something (or just even giving the customers silverware as they order), the cashier was keeping ALL of the silverware (unseparated) in the brown shelf from the dishwasher under one of the heat lamps. WTF? 6) The service and cleanliness isn't the only thing bad about Scotto's though, oh no, my friends. The food was terrible. I had rigatoni with chicken and peas. The peas -- from a can, not what you'd expect like some fresh snap peas or something. The chicken -- rubbery, flat, processed-tasting, disgusting. The noodles -- fine, though if they had some whole wheat options, that'd be nice. The sauce -- made me want to throw up. It basically tasted like a creamy sugar sauce. It was just a cream sauce that was very, very SWEET. Yes, sweet. No spices or flavoring at all. I looked really closely too, no evidence of seasoning. I also had calamari and garlic knots (a whole group of us ordered different things) as an appetizer. The calamari was TOUGH. I know calamari is chewy, I personally love it, but this was burnt to a crisp and not of good quality. The garlic knots were OK, and in fact the only thing out of all the items our group ordered that anyone liked. DEFINITELY skip this place. Maybe OK for a slice of pizza during the lunch rush, but I can't see a reason why anyone would ever make the mistake of getting an entree here more than once. read more

I touched my fork on what I thought was a pepper but turns out to be a slug! A live slug. He crawled out of my salad across the table. Stopped here to get lunch and was in the mood for a hoagie. The decor is very nice and has that warm Italian comfy feeling. The place was pretty clean and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and professional. I got the Super Italian hoagie with extra mayo and no onions. As much as I hate to admit it the quality of the sub was really no better than Subway which right next-door and cost a few dollars less. There was was a whole lot of veggies with a little bit of meat. Looking at what everyone else was eating, I think I would've been better off trying a calzone or some other warm Italian dish then a cold hoagie. The portions were miserable, their pasta is school cafeteria quality. I don't know why I let my kids talk me into coming here. Pizza is sitting under heat lamps and then they nuke it to further kill the slices. Twenty minutes for my dish to finally arrive. Now I'm not very happy but the Shrimp Scampi actually pretty good so I proceed to dig in. Let me see, 8 pieces of large, very well cooked shrimp. Good sign. Linguine, cooked al dente, very good. Now for the taste. Lemon, white wine, Italian parsley, minimal oil, and I actually started to enjoy the food. Just went up to three stars. A couple of more seconds of waiting and I would have gone back to the counter to forget the order because my kids had long since ate their pizzas. Reprieve for Scotto's. The Good: -Reasonable prices. I got the Stromboli which was about $8. My friends got a huge cheese pizza that rang up under $15. The So-So: -Blah Food Taste. This is was the biggest disappointment. It isn't hard to make good pizza or stromboli, however neither were remarkable. My stromboli was served luke warm, on top of that it was remarkable how little filling there was in the entree. There was little to no meat and a little bit of cheese. The cheese pizza was run of the mill and a better tasting one could be found at Pizza Hut. -Slow Service. The restaurant was fairly slow when we visited and the patrons already there already had their meals, still it took 20 minutes to receive my lukewarm stromboli and 25 for my friends to get their pizza. -Screaming kids. This isn't necessarily a fault of the business itself, but Yelpers be warned that the restaurant had tons of screaming kids. If waiting to see a movie at the Fox Theater or in Brambleton, go ahead and skip Scotto's. Blue Ridge Grill is a better option with better food and a more adult (mostly kidless) atmosphere. read more

Zero Stars!!! An absolute incompetent establishment. I ordered pizza and wings and was told it would take 45 minutes to 1 hour. That's after they ran my credit card. It has now been 1 1/2 hours and still no pizza. I called the store and spoke to Nick who as rude, condescending and made jokes about pizza taking a "ridiculously long time" and thought it was funny. I asked to speak to the manager and Nick said "he's too busy" to speak to you. Bottom line - Don't order from these people and I hope they go out of business. Just ordered here tonight and so far not impressed. We ordered dine-in but after 30 minutes asked where our food and appetizers were and the staff looked clueless. Ended up asking for it to-go as a person who ordered take out after us had already came and went. Only to come back and say that a part of their order was missing. Received my food, but they did not even honor their advertised free side salad with pasta orders. The cashier was not even knowledgeable about their menu. As far as quality, the calamari leaves much to be desired (even for a chain Italian joint). Even "fresh" it is soggy. Definitely overpriced, but expected for the area.
