Got a quote for plugs and coils for a 2019 Dodge Durango V6, and they quoted $1,600. They claim they receive high-quality parts. Parts from AutoZone are $365. Parts at other places were even cheaper. They said the cost for the "high-quality" parts was $800. I spoke with many mechanics who said the parts from Autozone will work perfectly fine. Scott's couldn't tell me what brand they use for parts because the price gouging would expose them. The point is, be very careful when dealing with them because you WILL pay more than other shops for just the parts. Do your research and don't trust solely on positive reviews. They don't answer the phone ever. Tried calling to schedule an appointment for the past 3 days and no answer. This company either needs to shut down or close if they cannot attend to the simple customer service needs of their community. Prior to using Scott's, I used a local auto dealership's service department and all they seemed to do was change parts, starting with the cheapest and going to the most expensive until the problem was solved. The first time I want to Scott's I thought it odd that they charged me for diagnosis. After all, the dealership never did. When Brian explained to me what part need to be fixed and why I realized the value of a thorough diagnosis. Now whenever I need work on any of my cars they go to Scott's. Just wanted to say that Scott's automotive done me right! I took my 05 GMC Sierra in for a inspection, and to my surprise it did not pass due to a loose pitman arm & idler arm. I personally replaced those items a year ago. They took me in the back and had my truck on the lift and showed me exactly how loose they were. That is a BIG SAFETY concern to me & other drivers on the road. Apparently when i replaced them I didn't torque them to the specific torque spec. I took my truck back home and ordered moog the problem solver parts & made sure everything was torqued to specs. Took my truck back to Scott's to get it reinspected & have them do an alignment. My truck has never drove this nice since I purchased it 5 years ago. Just wanted to say thank-you for inspecting my truck the right way & aligning it to perfection. I'm writing as a helpless parent in Utah that wasn't able to do much to help my son-in-law when his truck broke down in Missouri. But was glad that Scott's Auto Repair was there. When he had a catastrophic break-down on his truck, it wasn't like he was able to shop around for price, especially since he is just in Missouri working. We are from Utah, and have our regular mechanics that work on our vehicles. We know no one in Missouri. Not knowing what to do, but being people of faith, all we could do was pray and hope that the good Lord would help him find a mechanic or shop that would not take advantage of the situation. We knew that the break-down was going to be costly, very costly, but we didn't want to have someone add on damages that were not there, or upsale the repair with things that were not needed. It wasn't as if we don't know of not-so-very reputable mechanics everywhere, or the reputation that the auto repair has, so with this in mind, I wasn't sure if I had to hop on a flight and head to Missouri to help our son-on-law, and who knows what other thoughts ran through my mind, but I did know that we were at the mercy of the mechanic and there wasn't much we could do with that. Our intense prayers were answered when our son-in-law nursed his truck into the parking lot of Scott's Auto Repair. Our son-in-law apparently spoke with Scott himself, who rode with our son-in-law to listen to the grinding noise coming from the rear of the truck. Scott gave an early diagnosis of the problem, but stated that they would need the truck to more fully determine the problem. Since the truck was nearly unable to move, my son-in-law left it there. Scott offered to take our son-in-law to his hotel room, which he did, while they worked on the truck. The diagnosis of the repairs came to be the worst possible scenario for him, when he was told that the rear-end bearings had gone out and would need to be replaced, but also there may also be damage to the axle due to the length of time my son-in-law had driven the truck with the grinding noise. Having no choice, we left the truck to get repaired. The next day, my son-in-law needed to go to work, so he called the shop and asked if the truck had been fixed. It hadn't because parts had not arrived as of yet, but Scott, without any further obligation, helped our son-in-law with a Hertz rental vehicle. Scott did that without having to do so. Needless to say, the truck was fixed that afternoon. In speaking with my son-in-law throughout the day, we were bracing for a bill in the thousands of dollars, in fact, I had given him my credit card number because I knew he couldn't afford it, and that repair would be more than my daughter and my son-in-law could afford. When our son-in-law went to pick up the truck, we were shocked at the total amount. It was several hundred dollars, and not thousands as I had envisioned. My son-in-law was treated with respect, his truck was flawlessly repaired in an honest, timely, clean, and trustworthy way. I don't know Scott, but I can truly say that in the way my son-in-law was treated, Scott is a man of impeccable integrity, honesty and true compassion for his customers. One only wishes that more auto repair shops were this honest. I hope that if I'm ever in Missouri traveling, and I break down, that I can somehow take my car to Scott's Auto Repair, even if I have to tow it across the state. Thanks for reading this.... read more
