I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and say we visited on an off day, but I don't understand how this restaurant has such high reviews. The food was not good. We had burgers (something we figured would be hard to mess up) that ended up being soggy and flavorless. The fries somehow tasted hollow, and the drinks were incredibly watered down. The staff was nice enough and tried to talk up the food, but it was just such a disappointment that I do not see myself ever coming back. read more

A decent little neighborhood spot if you want something better than McDonalds but don't want to drive half an hour downtown if you live in the Shoreline area. We came here on a weeknight and didn't have to wait at all (we also sat in the bar area). The service was a little spotty, it looked like there were only 1-2 people manning the tables in the bar which seemed to be a little understaffed for the amount of patrons in the area. They brought out bread to start with -- it had some kind of garlic butter spread on it. It was good, but I wish that they gave us the spread and let us do it ourselves because most of them barely had any spread/butter on them. I was pleasantly surprised by the pea salad, usually not a huge fan of peas but they did a nice job with this one. The rigatoni was incredibly spicy, it was alright but too spicy for my personal enjoyment. The mediterranean pesto was an interesting dish... it had pesto, artichoke, kalamatta olives and some other assorted toppings in it. The pasta tasted like pasta I make at home, not bad, just didn't taste homemade or fresh. One of the great restaurants around. We came in last night during happy hour. Great service and the people are so nice. The happy hour menu is varied with all kinds of food. I had the teriyaki tidbits. Small but so delicious. My wife had the fish tacos which also were great. We also tried the calamari, the crab dip and other goodies. Yummy. I'm glad the place is still busy. Easy parking and close to the front door. Need to upgrade the restaurant but it's still great! read more

Went there lastnight waited at our table for 10 minutes before being greeted. When our food did arrive it was cold and the server never checked back in with us, the bill came and was $100 and for what? Poor service and cold food, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Super disappointed. read more

Terrible experience from the management tonight. 37 years of experience in the food and beverage industry makes me an expert in guest expectations. Tonight I got off early and decide to go with a friend to Scott's for a drink on the way home. We live nearby. We checked the signage on the way in noting the 11:00 pm closing time on a Friday night. Cool it was 10:18. We went to the bar, the cocktail waitress was prompt to acknowledge us and brought us the menu, kindly opening it HH for us to review. We quickly decided on our drinks and they we made and delivered. Not 5 mins after that, 10:23 someone turned the lights up on high in the adjacent dining rooms. At first we thought it was an accident and that someone had hit them unintentionally, although that was not the case. We waited to see if they would go back down. They did not. I got up and approached the manager and asked why they raised the lights and did they want us to go home. He said no but they were going to start cleaning up that side of the restaurant. (Not my problem. You are open and I am the guest). He asked me if it was a problem and would I like him to turn them back down. And I said yes. He walked away as if to do it, but didn't. Seriously! It was so rude to everyone who was in there. They still had 2 tables in the dining room when they turned up the lights. After that the same manager warned the next set of guests that arrived that they would be giving last call soon, and it was just past 10:30. Next another 3 top came in and ordered dinner, including a steak all the while with the lights in the adjacent dining room were on high. Clearly sending as message, time to go. Shame on you!! Shame on you. That is not customer service in any way! I was so ticked! I came to enjoy my experience and you wrecked it. Terrible just terrible. Good Luck. I think they only recently began doing brunch. First off, the Parmesan potatoes are GREAT. It was nice they brought out some scones for the table as well. My parents got a Benedict and to be honest, it was pretty weak. Hardly any hollandaise. I got the bacon cheddar omelette and while simple, it was good and large. I used to like this place and have been there many times. The service is now slow, inconsistent, and full of attitude. If they remember to bring you what you ordered, or even half of it, be happy. This place accommodated the changes for Covid, with grace. Tables far apart, lots of outdoor seating. Service is top notch- attentive and friendly. Prices seem reasonable, for well drinks and food. This was a nice surprise! Since I didn't know the area, I Googled restaurants around Edmonds, but when I tried to make reservations, the only time available was 4:45 so I took it, remembering it was Valentine's Day. Driving from Bellingham, I ran into traffic and accidents so was 20 min late, but my dinner partner got there on time and they let her have tea and an appetizer while she waited for me. We received a $50 gift card from the "Restaurants Unlimited" group of restaurants for the holidays from my husband's work. It included 20 middle of the road chain restaurants where Scott's seemed to be the best of the average pack choices. We decided to take advantage of the most bang for our buck and opted to go during Early Bird Happy Hour (3-6pm weekends) for dinner. Scott's offered a 3-course meal for $23.95 consisting of an appetizer, main course and dessert. Only a few menu choices for each course, but a nice variety of options. We arrived early, a little after 5pm and the parking lot was almost full. We noticed quite a lot of people already enjoying happy hour in the bar and large (20+) dinner parties waiting to be seated. Our hostess seated us at an intimate table for two in a quiet corner located on a terraced area of the restaurant. Scott's offers an open floor plan with high ceilings accented with beautiful wide wood beams throughout. There was also outdoor seating available and an enclosed patio that looked to be hosting a bachelor party. We started out our appetizer with a Point Reyes Bleu Cheese salad that came with croutons and slivered almonds and also a Broadway Pea Salad. Both appetizers were fresh and served with a nice presentation. The Pea Salad was a nice delight of flavors. Both salads were good size portions to start off our meal. For our main course, we opted for Rigatoni Bolognese with Uli's Italian sausage and for an extra $4, we ordered Rock Salt Roasted Prime Rib of Beef. Surprisingly, the Uli's Italian sausage had a nice kick of warm flavor that I really enjoyed. Half way thru my meal, I had to Google Uli's to learn that they are a local Pacific NW artisan hand-crafted sausage company right in Pike's Place Market. I will be buying their sausages for my homemade sauces in the future. My husband enjoyed his Prime Rib, cooked just right medium rare and served with rustic mashed potatoes, broccoli crowns and real horseradish. For our third course, we chose a slice of key lime pie and dish of strawberry-rhubarb sorbet. The pie had a nice citrus flavor accompanied with fresh whipped cream, but the sorbet fell short. Too small of a serving to really get more than a tiny bite of taste. Of the two desserts, the pie was clearly the better sweet treat. Service out of the gate was somewhat slow and by the end of the meal, very inattentive. Perhaps it was because our server saw the gift card...or perhaps it was Friday night and she'd rather be in the bar herself. Who knows? But by the end of the meal, our server Julie was almost non-existent. Throughout the meal, we constantly had to ask for water refills, ice tea refills, and extra napkins (the garlic focaccia bread was greasy with butter) and it took the check 15 minutes to arrive and even longer to get change. Despite paying with a gift card, we still had to add cash to the total to make up the difference. We paid our bill and left. No thank you acknowledgement from our server, but we did receive a warm "come again" from the hostess as we exited. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but service was scattered and slow. Arriving around 5pm, Scott's was not that busy and the dinner crowd had yet to arrive, why such disappointing service? All I can surmise is that because we opted for the Early Bird menu, perhaps the inferior wait staff was a reflection that we ultimately wouldn't be a big ticket meal. I hope that wasn't the case......if so, perhaps Scott's needs to rethink their Early Bird Happy Hour menu concept. read more

Went in for happy hour tonight and did not have a happy experience. Bartender was disinterested. I was sitting at the bar and received the bare minimum of customer service initially . Ordered a drink and an app, I finished and sat for 20-25 mins with a dirty empty plate in front of me. The bar was not busy. Requested a full menu as I was interested in a dinner salad and verbally said so. Waited 20 minutes watching him wash dishes and talk with another guest but he did not approach me again. I finally brought out my credit card and he did come over after 10 minutes or so. Very disappointed as this has not been my experience in the past. read more

Because of COVID we arranged an intimate wedding dinner that included the marriage ceremony. The manager was supremely attentive to our needs and requests. Chef was so kind to accommodate serving the cake and champagne which we provided. He plated the slices so beautifully. And Arturo, our server, was so attentive to our needs and requests, it felt like he was our personal attendant. He held off the entre until the brief ceremony was completed (the officiant arrived between the salad and the entre) and served everyone flawlessly throughout the evening. My only regret is that I did not get a photo of our small group with Arturo. If you need to arrange a small gathering, formal or informal, Scott's Bar & Grill is a perfect location for it. read more

Chronically understaffed. We sat in the bar and waited for over 25 minutes before anyone came. Two tables that arrived after us, got water and their orders in before us. The bartender kept looking over and ignoring us probably because of our age. Just because we are younger customers doesn't mean our money isn't good. I am a bartender in Seattle, and understand better than anyone how this industry works, I was very patient with no complaints but I was poorly disappointed with the service. If I could give no stars, I would. We had a reservation for Thanksgiving that was made over a month prior. We showed up and were told that despite our reservation, there were eight parties in front of us. The woman at the front desk was beyond rude. She did not apologize for the inconvenience or for ruining our thanksgiving night. Instead she said something along the lines of "There are clearly a lot of people and we can't do anything about it." The lobby was packed with disappointed families who also had been delivered the same news. Quite literally the worst service possible and one of the rudest interactions with a worker that I have ever had. eh. in a strip mall close to the shoreline costco. the restaurant is a decent size and has a pretty nice sized bar. we sat at a table by the windows in the bar. i went the saturday before mother's day for brunch at 10. they had a limited mother's day menu for breakfast food but were serving full lunch menu. food was...not great. we shared the crab artichoke dip and then i had the sandwich/salad combo with the au jus and blue cheese salad. dip wasn't bad! not amazing but def not bad. the au jus...had zero flavor. i don't know what it was missing but it was hardly edible. salad was also decent. not great, but not anywhere as bad as the sandwich. the service was also just ok. my friend got there first and when i arrived the server greeted me and brought a water but no menu. had to go to the front counter to grab my own after a few minutes when she hadn't brought one by. but water glasses were always full! i oscillated between a 2 and a 3, but i honestly feel like it was a 2.4 and not a 2.6, ya know? i have a good friend who lives close, so if i go back, i will update my review. read more

Little soft mini buns were actually tasty and I usually don't like bread. Blackened Steelhead ceasar, was a wierd combo for us. Very blackened spiced overpowered the salad. The pink pickled onions were an odd embeleshment, did not touch them. Calamari... well it came mexican styled w black beans, tomatoes, corn, chip strips, mayo based sauce and..... this too overpowered the main part. It also got soggy. Maybe , mayyybe if they added tiny fried bits of jalepeno it might of been ohhhhkay. But this combo wasn't for us. Just wanted calamari. Not the fluff. Gorgonzola fries... omg. I'm sorry, but it came and was a wad-pile of mushy heavy, greasy blob! kinda disgusting mess. I'm so sorry, but another one we wouldn't order again. Food was decent. Waiter was nice. But the cooks there must be illiterate as they got our order wrong 4 times. I asked for a grilled chicken tenders meal, they brought us fried tenders. I asked for a bacon cheeseburger, they forgot the bacon. My wife asked for a trio that comes with scallops, shrimp and salmon. They caught the mistake before the brought it out and asked if we wanted to swap, we said no. The cook brings out the meal. Upon inspection we realized they brought us shrimp scampi. To smooth things over they said we could get 2 free desserts. We asked for strawberry cheesecake per recommendation from the waiter. I kid you not, when I got home it was strawberry shortcake! We were able to have a large table by the fireplace and the staff rearranged tables to accommodate our party. Scott's is an interesting establishment. The location is a little odd, but it's that perfect balance of nice but not too nice. Which in my mind is difficult to obtain. I had to knock off a star because the food can be pretty inconsistent. I have had wonderful and pretty terrible meals here. That said, their menu covers a lot of ground and they do have a great HH...if you can score a seat in their very busy bar. My other complaint is more than once the waitstaff (at the tables) has just been so-so. Not clearing finished plates/glasses and generally hard to pin down. Some of my favorite items are the teriyaki steak tidbits appetizer, the maytag blue cheese salad and the fresh fish is very fresh! Tasty drinks as well and the bartenders are wonderful. read more

The staff were clearly working hard and doing the best they could. Our server was excellent and the Thanksgiving platter that we ordered was fantastic - as was the cheesecake dessert. Like a dressy diner. Food is always excellent. We dined her on Father's Day and brought 5 people in total. The portion sizes are large. I ordered the pick two option: French onion soup and farm house salad and all of it was YUM!! My son ordered the French dip it was delicious (I tried it) and there was plenty fries to share!
