I found their meat loaf to be overcooked and not moist, but the potatoes and vegetables that come with it was really good. Overall, I like most of the food here. Cashier at the front overcharged me for takeout and said it was because of the tax, to which I replied that the tax was almost as much as the price of the food item I ordered! She didn't know how to fix it and had to grab another staff person. I get that we all make mistakes but to give the reason she gave told me she didn't bother to look at the receipt more carefully after I brought the error to her attention. I probably had the worst tasting old fashion here followed up with the best tasting margarita I've ever had. I had two too many of those. My friends ranted and raved about the calamari, and I ordered the French dip which I thought tasted delicious. Their food and drinks were great. The restaurant in my opinion can just use an upgrade. I would say prior to 2010 this was one of the top places in Seattle to eat. I hadn't been back until 2023 & I would say it's let itself go. The level of disappointment I felt only matched the really awful service we received. Our server felt he needed to unload his life story & how much he hated this place to work. They hadn't been paying the employees properly & many have left for other eateries. I think tragically Scott's may be on its last legs of life. It's outdated on the outside & smells like it needs a lot of work inside. I didn't use the restroom but the last time I did in 2010 it hadn't really seen an upgrade in the 30 yrs I'd been alive and it didn't look like they've repainted or cleaned or updated anything like a time capsule. The food it was edible but for Scott's normal standard it was nowhere near that mark. I also found out they got rid of the best salad (Maytag) & I find that tragic. I hope maybe the owners put some love into the place & maybe it'll last for a few more generations. Cause It sounded like they haven't been making money in years & can't afford to pay there staff. And based on the food quality being far below the mark the staff being angry & having 0 interest in keeping customers happy including fighting with fellow staff openly in front of customers it just really is a stretch to give it 3 stars. The main manager kept coming out screaming at staff to get their job done and slamming doors. It was really uncomfortable & honestly the only good food was the sherbet ice cream. All of our food came wrong & had to addressed. The drink my mom ordered from the bar was done wrong & was like the bartender didn't even know how to make common drinks. My mom had to explain how it's made to get it right & she still didn't drink almost any of it. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because for 30 yrs of my life this was the epitome of what an eatery should be. I sat myself down quickly in the bar a couple minutes before 6. I would recommend a reservation for those actually dining and those with a bigger group. I was given the menu almost immediately sitting down. We ordered the crab and artichoke dip, cod sliders and drinks! Our service was ok! I wasn't too impressed. We did ask for a glass of water that never came out... our waiter was a little overwhelmed it seemed like. The atmosphere is loud. For a soft spoken person it is really hard to communicate there. Been a favorite best friend & I for a couple years when she visits area. She's a foodie & appreciates great food. Last night we experienced blatant discrimination from the male waiter. He was the big guy w/ glasses, I guess best description of him would be big farm stock. I didn't get his name, I didn't see a name tag when I looked. What happened was we were seated, then as a couple other tables were seated after us he served them & completely ignored us. We were clearly done w/ our menus. & had yet to even get our water. So a beautiful kind asian staff came to our table & filled our water glasses. I'm sure she wasn't actually the waitress because she didn't have the apron on the others had on. She asked us if we wanted bread while we waited for our waiter, we said yes & asked if we could order crab artichoke dip. She seemed taken of guard, perhaps because typically the waiter would take the orders. She returned to our table just a moment later & said she could take our order. I replied thank you, & that it was quite noticeable that the waiter waited in 2 tables that arrived after us. @ this moment that male waiter was delivering one of the other tables their drinks. She apologized & said she'd notify them. She took our order & a minute later returned with a beautiful kind blonde waitress who was wearing very pretty jewelry who was to take over our table. Yes I'm aware the demographic is likely predominantly right leaning, conservative, older adults. But I never expected or experienced such dismissive service. We had a gift card so we went to Scott's for lunch. My boyfriend had the blackened fish tacos and I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Both were very good, but we saved some room for their Award-winning keylime pie which did not disappoint. The service was top notch. Since I've started coming to this side of the water (from Kitsap County) because of college, I've started to sample some of the local wares from Shoreline and the surrounding area. This particular day, I decided duck into Scott's for a bite whilst I wait for my bus. First impressions: Spacious! Looks like it was built to handling large parties and would definitely not be out of place for hosting a big gathering or something similar. Decor is consistent with "bar & grill" fare and is tasteful with a tinge of Irish pub thrown in. Parking looks to be a little small for the amount of tables that can be seated but, then again, it wasn't a factor for me since I was taking the bus. In keeping with other reviewers, you may want to hit this place in off-peak hours like I did to avoid having to engage yourself in combat parking. Service: Took no time to get me seated and the staff was extremely friendly! Water was offered and given right off the bat as well as their homemade bread. With regard to the bread, it IS good but the portion size was not what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. They probably offer more after the first batch and, in their defense, I didn't get that far with them. Nevertheless, my server was Nancy and she was as delightful and as attentive as could be. Was quick to fill my water and made sure to ask that my lunch was going well and that the food quality was up to par. She was well-worth every bit of the 5-star tip that I gave her at the end of the meal! Food: I chose the Mediterranean Pesto Pasta. It did NOT disappoint. It was so good that I want to reverse engineer the sauce to make it at home. The portion size was perfect and, really....was blown away by the quality and the taste. Flavors were bold and complemented each other well. Dish showed up at the right temperature and the presentation was on point. Between this and the outstanding customer service, I will definitely be making a return trip. Price: This is where they get ding-ed a star. Maybe it's because I'm coming from the "other side" where everything is a bit cheaper and all. While $15.40 is acceptable for one person dining, I can it imagine really stacking up if you have more than one person dining in your party. I guess in the long run, the dish I had was comparably priced but the rest of the menu didn't seem like it warranted the kind of price tag they were offering. Overall assessment: Great establishment with great food and great people to boot! The taste and service can definitely offset their prices. The steaks were a terrible cut of meat and one was overcooked and the other just tasted really bad. The good news is the folks at Scott's are great people and do take care of their customers. I was here with family and my parents from out of town and what a great night it was. The acoustics are amazing in here so its not to loud and you can have a conversation with out yelling! The food was amazing. Everything cooked to perfection including the rib eye(yum). They have a good sized menu and if what we all had was any indication then I would bet everything on the menu is good. Even my picky eater 10 year olds where happy with the food. NOT COVID-19 Compliant!!!!! I don't even know where to start! I have never had such horrible service at a restaurant with this high price point! We were seated and were starving, so immediately ordered an appetizer when our waiter took our drink order. We waited about 15 minutes for our water. 20 minutes later, no appetizer or bread. We asked to please get some bread, got a snippy reply "it's in the oven" 10 minutes later, appetizer comes with the bread. It was a total of 40 minutes to get even a crumb of food! I was getting more upset by the second! I was feeling shaky because I was starving! I was able to witness ALL of the mistakes made by the staff and manager on duty! I watched the miss directed, unorganized staff run around with no set job duties. Our server was going back to the kitchen to bring out a tub of bread to put on the oven, the manager was buttering bread (no gloves or hand washing). The chefs were bringing huge stacks of plates to the front from the kitchen. The staff was cleaning and setting tables without gloves, with out proper sanitation practices. They waiters were using their bare hands to bring steak knives to the tables. Also delivered sauces with their bare hands, rather than putting them on a serving plate. I watched one gal "clean" a table with her bare hands, sprayed the table with a quick spritz, quickly wipe a portion of the table and only two of the four chairs down (a half assed job) then, she immediately grabbed a stack of bread plates with silverware on top to place them on the table! No gloves, no hand washing in between. I had plenty of time to witness all of this since we waited so long for food, to go boxes and our bill! Oh, I never even got to the food yet! I had the baby back ribs. They were over cooked and smothered with way too much BBQ sauce! The $8.95 Caesar size salad "with homemade croutons" was very tart with stale croutons. My husband had the prime rib with mediocre mashed potatoes, the fish n' chips and tarter sauce was good, as well as the crab dip. We went there because I received an e-mail for this special one day lobster/crab dip today. I honestly did not see any lobster in it as it appeared in the picture. I would have talked to the manager, but he had disappeared about 20 minutes before we left. I would have thought he would have seen our disappointment and frustration as we looked around continuously for our server! Needless to say, we will not be returning! I will be calling the Health Department as well. This restaurant does NOT appear to be on top of the CDC guidelines! With poor service, mediocre food and way overpriced.......you may be better off going elsewhere! It took almost two hours from start to finish. Made for a fantastic family Thanksgiving! We made reservations for our family Thanksgiving at Scott's. Best decision in years! We walked in early for our reservation and were promptly seated for our party of ten. Greeters and servers were beyond friendly and welcoming. We were treated to wonderful and attentive service; the food was great (turkey dinners, prime rib, chicken -- all great). French onion soup was off the charts. I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt and say we visited on an off day, but I don't understand how this restaurant has such high reviews. The food was not good. We had burgers (something we figured would be hard to mess up) that ended up being soggy and flavorless. The fries somehow tasted hollow, and the drinks were incredibly watered down. The staff was nice enough and tried to talk up the food, but it was just such a disappointment that I do not see myself ever coming back. read more

So I pretty much like this place except for the price. They do have two happy hours, I believe 3-6pm and after 9pm, but mainly fattening junk food on the happy hour menu. I've tried the Gorgonzola fries (good but only in teeny tiny quantities), the quesadilla (yum), the tacos I hear are good, and the Caesar salad with chicken (off the regular menu cause it's healthy). The items on the regular menu are pretty pricey, I think my Caesar salad was $18 after tax. The staff are super nice here!!! And it's a pretty nice/classy bar for the North End. It's part of the same chain as Stanford's (although they don't offer the yummy Mac n Cheese that Stanford's does), and they have a loyalty card where you get points for all the money you spend as well as freebies once in a while. I understand the rules, but you don't need to be so rude to your customers. Last time my mom and I came to this location they just decided they weren't doing happy hour one day, which was a bit disappointing but it was fine, and we ate somewhere else. Then today, we walked in, got seated outside and we're in the middle of ordering beverages when the server told us we weren't allowed to sit outside and needed to move because I am not 21. That's never been a problem any of the other times we've been here, but we agreed and asked if we could sit at the small tables. Also got a very annoyed "no" from that question. Then we asked if we could sit in the restaurant, and she said yes but that we couldn't order anything from the happy hour. My mom and I talked for a moment and agreed no worries we'll just go somewhere else. But the issue came when we asked how we could exit, and if there was an outdoor exit on the patio. The server gave us very hand on hip attitude saying "well she's not supposed to be in here but she already is isn't she?". Completely unnecessary. So my mom got irritated and walked away to find the exit herself, as the server angrily said "well nevermind" under her breath. and I continued to ask "where is the exit?" I had to ask 4 times because she kept ignoring me. Finally she told me and says once again with an attitude and throwing her hands up "Sorry for upsetting you" and I nicely was explaining "Oh it's okay, my Mom is just frustrated because this is the second time we've had some thing similar to this happen" and as I'm still speaking she rolls her eyes at me and turns around starting to clean tables.
