It was good, but could have done without so much fresh dill...got a bit overpowering. Four stars instead of five because of a $4.10 fee (2.5%) for a "healthcare surcharge". I am seeing this more and more often at expensive restaurants and cannot express how tacky I find it. If the cost to run a business in Washington is 2.5% more than what you are currently budgeting for, then you need to increase your menu prices by 2.5% and be up front about it. This feels deceptive and frankly is a reason I avoid certain restaurants. I want to try this place again, but this fee makes me feel like I'm being scammed.

Straight to the point. No, How Are You Doing, No nothing. Just have you made up for your mind. lol I could tell she was miffed because we brought drinks over from the bar. There goes the larger bill, therefore a larger gratuity. I know from experience, that was always a pet peeve. You also never know the type of evening someone is having. I always try to extend a little grace in the long run. I'm sure a lot have enjoyed their Chicken Parmigiana. I'm not one of them, mainly for all of the beets and carrots. Yes, beets and carrots took out more than half of the plate. I counted four bowtie pasta. Not to mention the beets were hidden under all of the carrots. And that's fine, but let people know that you're getting beets and carrots with Chicken Parm entree. I think either the server or the menu said something about broccoli. I had two florettes. Dessert (cheesecake with blueberry sauce ) was amazing, but the serving size was sad. Call me Tom, short for Petty, but there was more Readi Whip than cheesecake. And the size. Oh, the size, it was so small. Speaking of small, I think they get 12 chicken Parmesan from one chicken breast. Extremely thin. I know darn well all of these rising costs are hitting everybody/business in their pocketbooks, but, just don't serve some things. With all this said, I will be back. Like I said initially, I know they make good food. Looking forward to trying a grinder, just won't get the chicken Parmesan with root vegetables. PS. The restaurant was extremely loud and felt very chaotic. Given the menu prices, we didn't expect to be seated so tightly between other groups that it felt like we were practically dining on top of each other. We could barely hear each other throughout the meal because another table was just inches away, and servers had to squeeze between the tables to take orders. When we were seated, I asked if we could move to an empty table nearby. The hostess explained that they typically don't seat two people at a four-top, which would have been understandable, except that one of the tables right next to us remained occupied by only two people for our entire meal. I wasn't looking for a special table--just a little more space to enjoy a conversation with my husband. We also had a reservation, so I expected the seating experience to be a bit more thoughtful. The food was perfectly fine, but the atmosphere and seating arrangement made it difficult to enjoy our date night. The biggest problem was the focaccia appetizer and it was embarrassing! Focaccia is typically a nice thick slice of bread with spices on top. Not Fire and the Feast focaccia! I have had a service issue the last time I was there and only returned to get Brady to serve us. I do not see myself returning to the Fire and the Feast after a second disappointment of the worst focaccia appetizer! I am not tempting strike 3. Here is what Google says about Focaccia: Focaccia is a soft, flat Italian bread known for its dimpled surface, chewy texture, and rich olive oil flavor, often topped with herbs, salt, and other ingredients like vegetables or cheese. This restaurant discriminates against people for having personalities they do not like. It discriminates against people who consistently do anything slightly out of the ordinary that they do not understand. They discriminate against loyal patrons if they don't like what chairs that person chooses to sit in. If you complain about anything having to do with this restaurant, Scotts takes whatever you say and passes it on so that everyone on the staff knows and also many of the regular patrons. This restaurant can imagine up a wrong that you have not done, accuse you of it, punish you for it and give you rules that do not apply to anyone else, deny you the chance to try to explain yourself, and 86 you and refuse you service. It doesn't take getting loud or drunk or abusive or insulting or disruptive to get 86ed from Scotts. All it takes is very simple. If you enjoy talking to people, and the only people you have to talk to is the staff, you can get 86ed from Scotts. If you feel the need to be able to see out windows to feel comfortable at bars, you can be 86ed from Scotts. If you make the mistake of thinking one of the staff is your friend (because they tell you they are as a way to set you up) you can be 86ed from Scotts. And if all three of the above happen to apply to you, then really really you can be 86ed from Scotts! The food is ok, though the portions on the higher priced items are rather small, and the prices too high (esp. on drinks) in many cases for what you get. Otherwise the ambiance is nice and most of the staff too. But don't get too loyal to the place because it will not be grateful and it will not return loyalty to you. And if a pack of high spending regulars at the bar decide they don't like you--you're pretty much all done. read more

Almost everything on their menu is good. They have great prime rib, may tag blue cheese salad, prime dip, open faced crab sandwhich, fried chicken and so on. They used to have the best nachos around but were so much work they stopped making them. They also offer seasonal dishes and specials that are actually special. They used to do a seafood linguine that was really good so if that is offered on special it is worth a try. They have weekend brunch but if your looking for a traditional breakfast menu look elsewhere, they do something like 9 dishes for breakfast. They have made a few changes to menu offerings over the years and I have had one or two lackluster meals there, but that has been rare considering the years I have been coming here. The service is usually great. The one annoying thing is that they charge a little too much for beer in my opinion but that is a minor annoyance.. They are known for their mojitos and other drinks. They do have some outdoor seating in the bar and have added more capacity for outside offerings. In relation to some of the other reviews the food is not super cheap but it is not really expensive either. Looking at what you get compared to other places Scott's is much better than many other places. Also I have never heard of anyone I know that has gotten sick from eating at Scott's, so if that happened to another rieviwer I would imagine it was an isolated incident. read more

I have been to this establishment around 30 times since they opened and the food is just ok. The reason we keep going back is because its a in between spot for meeting friends. I should know better though this meal was the worst that I have ever had at this place. We went for brunch and how hard is it to screw up breakfast? Well , it's gotta be pretty easy after trying to eat what they served us. We were a big group and the place was slow so that cannot be taken into consideration. The food was just bad and we all felt that way about our meals. I ordered the Eggs Benedict , it came and the ham looked like it really was some foreign meat , pale in color and no taste at all. The sauce was not even the correct color and flavorless. Overall bad in appearance and taste. Everyone else left their food on the table and there were 11 of us. It was bad. The employees are very nice, the place is clean though they really need to have some better cooks in the kitchen. Not sure if we all meet up again and it's here, I will be attending. read more

We went to Scott's on Tuesday evening. The atmosphere was nice. The bar and wait staff were attentive and kind. I didn't go five stars due to value. My family liked their food (halibut cheeks) but my father commented that the portions are not exactly generous. It is true, for $30 to $33 a plate, it seems like perhaps a starter like a salad might be in order. I was not as impressed with my food as my folks were. I ordered prime rib and they were out. I then ordered a rare steak. It was rare inside and fully blackened on the outside. It was covered in a brown gravy and already sliced up for me. Maybe I didn't read the description well enough? I was looking for a traditional steak. The cheesy scalloped potatoes was the highlight of my meal. This is a fine restaurant and since my folks like it, I may end up going again but I have had $30 steaks before and this wasn't it. read more

Where to begin? The women's room smells like an out-house. If that doesn't kill your appetite the prices will, or how about the lusty looks from the old drunks hanging out at the bar? I'm sorry, if I wanted to feel like a choice cut of beef I'd go to a dance club, not what I thought was a family restaurant. The food? Interesting how the more money you pay, the smaller the portions. Imagine getting a half glass of wine for $7.00--the house wine, no less. The service....slow. And the attitude? Unfriendly, snooty, snobby, chilly, unwelcoming. Maybe because I was there by myself and didn't have a man with me. I might go back again just to see if this makes a difference. But my overall impression--I felt scrutinized by drunks and ignored by the staff and I doubt I'll go back there for the little bang for the buck I ended up with. read more

I have been to Scotts twice and had the misfortune to sit in the bar area at the front. I have to say the food and service was very satisfactory, though I did find the portions rather meager for the price. What stands out most from my experience however, was the crude and unsavory dialogue I had to hear from a group of three or four older gentle(?)men at the bar beside our table. From their manner and the way they were treated by the waitstaff I have to assume they are regulars which is why my husband and I will not be going back. In my view they were the dark cloud to an otherwise lovely evening. I realize Scotts has no control over who they have at their establishment, but the lewd glances I was made to endure, in addition to this, we will likely not be back. read more

I work not to far away from Scott's and visit sometimes for lunch. This is one of the most reputable restaurants in Edmonds. It's been there for a long time and it's always busy. They have good customer service and the food is amazing! When both of these are combined then you are guaranteed to have a good time. I always go with ether the pork chop or the seafood pasta plate. Both are very delicious and you won't regret ordering those plates if you are a fan of such food. If you're a fan of sandwiches and burgers then they have a large variety of those as well. Stop by, you won't regret. The reason why I gave it a 4 star is because the building is a lil old and I am kind of a neat freak. If you don't mind the old lodge feel then this is the place for you. read more

If I write anything negative here about my experiences at this restaurant, YELP will put it as FILTERED where people can't see it. I have noticed this about YELP. If I indicate one star, which is all they deserve, my review will get posted as filtered and my low star rating won't count. WHY I will no longer post reviews on YELP. She tried helping but could not print our check because she was not the server. She then walked over to get his attention discretely, no such luck, he kept on talking. A few more minutes, I asked her if she was getting me the check, she explained that she could not. So i waited, I think he glanced over and back to jabbing. Then the host had to go get help from the someone that could override and allowed her to print. horrible service this second time..not sure I want to take a chance on bad services again. the place was not busy at that time so busyness cannot be a reason. And, he was not working, he spent that time talking.

The breakfast food was all pretty good and had generous servings. The mashed potato omelette was particularly unique. The exceedingly friendly service was just the cherry on top. Sign of the economic times, I guess. With what little culinary dollars we have, guess it's time to revisit other established Shoreline businesses instead.
