I have been taking my mother here for Sunday afternoon lunches for a couple of years. We've always had super friendly, efficient service and great food in a casual and warm atmosphere (we always sit in the bar area). Thus, why we come back again and again. We went today for one of our lunch dates, and I ordered the Gorgonzola Crusted Sirloin. I ordered it medium rare, and it arrived very well done. I didn't want to return it and see it go in the trash (too much guilt of waste of food!), so instead I chose to just let my server know of the error so the cook wouldn't make the mistake on the next customer. I didn't expect anything in return, and I went ahead and ate my lunch. Much to my surprise, the server (after she had already apologized for the error), came back to the table with a dessert menu and said dessert was on them. So sweet! Thinking that was already a nice gesture, the manager then showed up and told me they were basically cutting my lunch entree price in half. So, I paid half price for my lunch AND got a free dessert. I have never had a bad meal here, nor has anyone I have taken. My boyfriend has only one complaint-they use powdered Parmesan instead of shredded or shaved in the Cesar salad. Happy hour is fantastic as well. Expensive but worth every penny: Parmesan crusted halibut cheeks. You will die and go to heaven. CON: Price. Prices are definitely more than they should be at a place that is not technically fine dining. Four stars instead of five due to service. We've been coming here for years. Love the food and the Key Lime Pie Is the BEST! The Bacon Bloody Mary is great too, but they aren't on the menu anymore. Our server was prompt, but gruff. Not the friendly easy going service we usually receive. He rushed us through ordering, even cut my daughter off because she wasn't order fast enough & skipped her & went on to my husband. He snapped at me when I asked about the combination my husband ordered. The beef tidbits and steamed clams were great. Stuffed Sole, French onion soup were delicious. They even had a gluten free bun for my daughter's sandwich. I also mentioned to him it was our anniversary. We weren't offered dessert, instead he brought To Go boxes and out check. In the past Scott's has been a great neighborhood restaurant. Today, it was so disappointing. Train your servers!! We waited for 5 to 10 minutes before being contacted by wait staff and given water. We ordered coffee (brunch). It took 11 minutes to get it after we asked again ...they had run out. We ordered food it took a bit longer than usual, but no big deal. We got our meal from our wait person and a cook expediter. The eggs and Omelett were merely warm and after having to ask for salt and pepper, waiting just under 5 minutes for it, the food was really cold. An english Muffin was served toasted but limp and cold with a slab of rock hard butter. Asked for jam, they didn't have any, apparently a known, since we were told there had already been complaints. That would have been nice to know. One of us had lunch and had to ask for bread. While waiting we could see hot orders going under the warming lamps and sitting there for minutes until the cook came out to help. It just wasn't that busy people! Let me start off by saying great customer service is a way to a girl's heart. You can have the best food in the world, but if your attitude stinks, I won't be staying long. Scott's had us at free appetizer due to the long wait we had, even with our reservation. Yes, this place was packed on a bustling Friday night. No, we didn't anticipate any type of compensation for waiting well past our reserved time. But yes, we did happily take their offer and I was appreciative of the gesture. Scott's is definitely a family place, and it shows by how packed this place can be with kids and adults alike. It was pretty loud during our dinner, but I'm used to yelling at my dinner companions from time to time. :) Food was delicious. Crab and artichoke dish was a guilty splurge and it was worth it. Chopped salad (sans turkey and salami) was perfectly filling and their prices are sweet. I just had lunch here for the first time today and it was quite good. I had the Dijon chicken--it was crusted with panko so it was super crunchy and light. I like that they offer a smaller sized portion for lunch--it was just right. My husband was in need of comfort food and had their mac and cheese. It tasted amazingly good, but I don't think repeated servings would be good for the arteries. The menu seemed varied enough so that there could be something for everyone if you go with a group. It seemed a bit pricey, but I'm just coming off a trip to Vermont where food is wicked cheap, so my eye for pricing is momentarily skewed. I want to love Scott's, but I can't. The restaurant climate is remarkably competitive, and places like this that put themselves out to be on the gourmet side better bring their A-game. But they only bring the B- game. I'll admit it, the crab dip is really good, but it's really heavy. I've had the calamari, which had so much garnish (beans and tortilla strips and other such nonsense) that it looked kinda terrible. Everything else I've had has been moderately good to above average. What finally brought me to write this review was their peculiar lunch combos. The idea of a lunch combo is provide a significantly cheaper option to induce business. But when a sandwich is normally about 12 bucks with two halves and an order of fries, it's not logical to provide a bowl of soup and half a sandwich for 11.50. read more

My family and I had dinner here for my Birthday on Saturday night and I'm glad we did. I will say the service was good and attentive. The food was even better than the service. I had the Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The kids menu had some good selection and decent pricing. My daughter had the fettuccine and loved it. Parents had bought a groupon for $50 at Scotts, so our fam of 4 went out for a fun dinner. We got there and got seated quickly since we had made reservations. The server came relatively quickly and got some tasty garlic bread for the table and waters. We usually dont get drinks but they looked approriately priced for a nice restaurant. I ended up ordering a $28ish surf and turf which was yummy but smaller portions of meat than i was expecting for the price, Overall, we had a good experience but the food is not worth the price. read more

I used to work for a few sister restaurants of Scott's, and loved the menu. The food we had tonite was not good and way overpriced. We sent my husbands pork back, too salty. My meal was ok, but drowning in butter. We had clams as appetizers and they were full of sand. Even the burnt cream wasn't right- it had way too much sugar on top. On the bright side, our server was nice and took items off the bill. It's too bad as I have fond memories of many of the menu items. I wish RUI could reinvent itself and improve their menu. Until then, not coming back as there are so many better choices in the Seattle area! read more

An okay experience: a very friendly, helpful waiter knew a great deal about beer and recommended one I had never tried, and liked. Other than that, it's a bit of a cavern - formerly (and I mean WAY back) the building was a pseudo-English pub, and the large area in the middle still has the wooden beams, etc - but it's not a cozy space; the other areas may be better. The noise level was acceptable. The food was decent+ but at least in my case, nothing to get very excited about. We had a decent experience, the waiter who held the door for me (I'm disabled) was kind and took the trouble to notice, which was appreciated. Our sever was rude and did not value us the way a normal family should especially since we chose you for the birthday dinner, to throw more slat on it, she complained to our face cause we asked for more bread, we mentioned about the birthday and she forgot at the end until we mentioned it again, she never checked up on us but to pour water and scurried off before asking us if we needed anything. I have been coming here since I worked at Frederick and Nelson that used to be at mall across the street. This used to be our after work hangout...30 years ago. Food and drinks are always excellent. Service has always been excellent. Great menu options. Just introduced Scotts to family member who now works in the area. She is planning on having business events/meetings for her org here. It isn't now, so the one thing I didn't like about this restaurant is gone! Score! My wife's go-to-meal is the Maytag blue-cheese salad with baby shrimp. She craves this. We both like the crab dip and my sons (bread connoisseurs) love the garlic bread. For main courses, like Clinkerdagger, Scott's has great prime rib. But my guilty pleasure is the Spicy Cajun Chicken Fettuccine. This bad boy is HOT. Be prepared. My sons love the hamburgers and the french dip. With the bar area now smoke free, I usually hang out here when it's just me or with my wife. Scott's is located just off Aurora (Hwy 99) at the Snohomish/King County border. We took the grandparents out to lunch to celebrate a graduation, and our server, Laurie, was really friendly, attentive, and efficient! Everyone loved the meals they ordered. Typical PNW "Juneuary" day, but we wanted an outdoor venue to be COVID safe. The covered patio was very comfortable and dry, with overhead heaters and fans circulating the air. They kindly turned down the patio music so that those in our group with hearing issues could participate in the conversation easily. All around a wonderful experience! read more

It's kind of funny. They do a lot of things right at this restaurant. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here, but I've never been super impressed either. They are famous for their Maytag Blue Cheese salad - it really is good. Sometimes it can be overdressed, but you can't argue with the flavor. Excellent. Everything else seems a bit "uninspired"... I think the best way I can describe it is that the food is bland. I suppose I can salt/pepper my own food, but it seems like a lack of seasoning in their kitchen. I'd also recommend they simplify plating and cut down on garnish. Refocus only on great food. I think they have a loyalty program that I hear is excellent. I've been to this restaurant many times, only because my family loves it. The food here is pretty solid for the most part. Today my meal was not so solid but everyone else's seemed to be. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of crisp bacon. My bacon arrived far from crisp and the biscuits were burnt around the edges with not enough gravy. Biscuits should be smothered by the gravy. If the gravy wasn't so good, the burnt biscuits would have ruined everything. I will say that the potatoes and scrambled eggs were great. My main beef with this place is service, today was a great example of how it is always lacking. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but not packed and service was slow and inattentive. Their dishes always seem to take a long time to arrive and it feels like the plan is to stuff you full of bread (which is actually really good) so you won't notice. I notice. Meanwhile it's hard to get someone's attention for a water refill. The waitress forgot changes we asked for on our orders (like crisp bacon) but she was nice so we didn't press the issue. I wanted to ask for more gravy for my burnt biscuits but couldn't get my waitresses attention to do that. It seems to me like they don't have enough waitresses so they give them large areas to cover and as a result the customers feel the brunt of it. This seems to be a problem every time we eat there. In the end, the food here is pretty good. Their recent remodel makes things feel more modern and open. They also have a great outdoor area that is worth checking out. Just be forewarned that service is not the best and it's pretty slow at that. read more

Actually I would give it 4 to 5 stars for food and 1-2 stars for service. The problem with having a kitchen exposed to the customers, is the customer can see their dishes being cooked under the heat lamp while their server has disappeared. I have been to Scotts on a few occasions, once for lunch and a few times for drinks in the bar! I think the bar is a really great spot. I went there for a business meeting where we were able to talk in reasonable voices and were still able to hear each other. We also had excellent service in the bar, and my Cosmo was divine!! My lunch experience was wonderful. I went with my Mother, my Aunt and my Grandma, who is 87 years old and almost unable to walk. They cleared the aisleway for us to walk with her to our table and were very, very hospitable to us. They were patient with her and made sure everything was done to her liking - which made all of us happy. I went here because it is an RUI restaurant in the north end and I like a lot of RUI's restaurants. Its a cavernous place with a large bar area. I had brunch there with the cousin. We split the corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy. The corned beef hash was very greasy and the biscuits had sliced sausages instead of ground and there was a lack of gravy. The potatoes were deep fried and dusted with parm cheese. The food tasted okay but the booths would jerk me forward every time someone sat down at the next booth and the place seemed a little run down. Scott's is another Edmonds establishment that has been around for what seems to be FOREVER. This is a place where I meet up for happy hour with my GF's when in town. We nosh on appetizers while enjoying a delightful selection of regional wines. I've enjoyed meals here a ton of times over the years too...there just isn't anything super fancy or exciting about Scotts.... Honestly, Scott's is just a 'tried and true' fav. Kind of a "no brainer" when your hungry but want to dine somewhere a little more upscale than some of the chain establishments. The food is good but nothing exceptional by any means; I suppose I could say the same for the ambiance. I have always loved their chicken dijon or grilled salmon entrees...they have great salads too. I haven't been here since a couple nights before my wedding in the fall of 2006, so I couldn't tell you what it was I ordered. But I will say that we had really great service and there was about 15 of us women who were ready for some food and drink! I have been going to Scott's for almost 15 years. If I was writing this review a few years ago then it would have gotten four or five stars. Unfortunately for whatever reason it's just not what it used to be. A friend and I went there yesterday and ordered french toast and fish tacos in the bar. I'm still not sure who our server was because we had two that flip flopped back and forth. The food was fine, but the service was amateur at best. It took an hour and we weren't dilly dallying. I finally had to walk over and ask for the check. There were only about 10 people in the bar so it wasn't like they were slammed. Dropped in for a late lunch yesterday with a friend. Restaurant had few customers at 1:10pm. Server came by, poured water and asked if we were ready to order. Drinks came and we visited. Both of us ordered a simple lunch. And we waited and waited and then flagged the server down...when the server returned...very apologetic and said, I'm very sorry- I didn't enter your order until now it will be up in 5 min. And we will give you a free desert. It's going to be a very LONG time before I even think about going to Scotts for lunch. The appetizers were the best thing here. I found the seafood deviled eggs to be fair, but the Maytag salad was delicious. The ciabatta bread they provide is yummy too. The entrees were considered small by my dining companions and I. The rosemary pork was tasty, but a little on the dry side. My fried chicken was also dry, and less then memorable. The mashed potatoes that accompanied got better reviews then the dinners. Pricey, mediocre food, bad service. Menu is very hodge podge-Fish tacos, mac n' cheese, steak, deli sandwiches, seafood and an extensive wine menu. Whenever faced with a hodge podge menu, I go for fish tacos. My fish was over cooked. The guacamole was really good, fresh made and had pieces of avocado in it. There was a rice pilaf on the side, and the flavors did not match the tacos. Two of the ladies I was with ordered salads, one steak and one chicken. Neither seemed pleased. The birthday girl ordered dijon chicken and seemed to really enjoy it. They had a crab dip as an appetizer (which I did not eat), but they didn't finish it and didn't seem too impressed with it. I ordered the bday girl an amaretto sour, which she said she liked. She also seemed to enjoy her mai tai. I don't do sugary cocktails myself , but the other girls seemed to like them, so perhaps a plus there. Service was not good. Slow with taking orders, bringing drinks, and did not check on us. The check was really late. I mean, really late. I think a previous reviewer described decor best by calling it reminiscent of the Polo Room and the Beverly Hills Hotel. And a last comment. I came here a while ago with my family for brunch and had the best french toast with vanilla custard, ever, hands down. I've tried to recreate this at home without success.
