I've been going here for over 20 years, when there were located in 24 hour fitness strip mall area.

I solely use this barber shop. They have continually raised their prices in the last year, but I understand why. And while other places charge $40 or more for a regular haircut they are still less than $15. I don't need my hair washed before the haircut. I'm going to go home and shower after the appointment like usual. So why would I want to pay for that. This place is no nonsense. You sit down, they cut your hair the way you ask them to, and you're out of there. Customer service is also very good here. The barbers like V are so sweet and always remember the discussions you may have had with them at your last visit. I will continue to use this as my preferred barbershop. read more

My 15-year-old son badly needed a haircut so we decided to try a barber shop instead of the salon I usually take him to.m Unfortunately, when we got in the car, I noticed some red bumps on the back of his scalp. I have been coming here with my son for years! Ever since he was in elementary school. He's 15 years old now, and I can't remember ever going to another barber. The people are friendly, very fast, excellent at what they do, There's never a long wait, and if by chance somebody is ahead of you, they always have the TV playing and there are LOTS of magazines to peruse, and current ones too! It's so convenient to come here that we often do it before a meal or a movie or on our way home. And the best part? A regular haircut is only nine dollars!!! Where else are you going to find a great haircut for less? They do it right, and I'll be coming back forever. Try it once, and you'll be a regular too. They are conveniently located just a few doors down from Starbucks, in the same strip mall with a dry cleaners, dentist, and several restaurants. I took my 91-year-old mother here for a haircut. There were two barbers (Vietnamese?) on duty, a man and a woman. The man told us he did not cut women's hair. Been a customer of this Barber Shop for the last few years. My college buddy told me about the place, when it was close to La Fitness on Navajo Road. Vi takes care of my hair cut, and is very good on getting the right cut you want. Due to the construction of a large hardware store, the Jolly Barber had to relocate to Fletcher Parkway, which is only a mile away from Navajo. The price is very reasonable too. Tip is up to the customer. I have seen males, females, and children come to this shop. I got my haircut today, and will go back in a few weeks. A few years ago I needed a haircut quick and had no time to go to my regular barber, so I took a chance and brought my shaggy mop of hair to the Jolly Barber Shop for a trim. I had no idea when I walked in that the smiling, soft-spoken lady who gestured for me to have a seat in her chair would become my new all-time favorite barber! I'm sure the other barbers there do good work, but I always go to Vi (sounds like the letter "v," as in V-8). I told her how I liked my hair to be cut on my first visit, and she did a great job. I was impressed when, on my second visit, she remembered what I had said and gave me an equally good haircut. This was several years ago, and she's managed to reproduce the same good results for every haircut I have needed since then. $9 haircuts-- my son and my husband have been coming here for years. It is not fancy, but if you're a dude with simple needs, it gets the job done. The lady and the older guy who has the chair closest to the door do the best jobs. I guess some ladies get their haircut there too-- while I was there a woman came by and asked if the woman was working today; the answer was no so she didn't come in for her haircut. Sometimes my husband will have to get his hair cut from someone else and it looks a bit funky. Also, they trim the eyebrows with the clippers(!) which always makes my husband look like he lost his in a fire. But now he tells them to leave the 'brows alone. The other day I took my son in to get a hair cut and it was fine, except for the fact that they were playing some Nic Cage movie with a lot of F-bombs in it. I don't think my kid's scarred for life, but I think they should be a bit more choosy with the movies since he is a kid and they did start playing it after he was in there, so they could have chosen something else. read more

They don't speak or understand English. If they do speak English they don't know what the words mean. I got the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my life. Whenever I would ask the barber if he understands my haircutting instructions and all I get it "Yes, yes" and he does the exact opposite. read more

I've gone to this barber three or four times now and have been impressed each time. Aside from being cheap ($9) they do excellent work. I tend to have a very simple haircut, but they pay close attention to detail, cutting close around the ears, sideburns, and along the face. The cuts I get here are better than any of the salons I've tried, which charge double, and are just as good as the barber I group up with. read more

GREAT barber shop! Price is the lowest I have found at only $8 and the barbers are very quick and friendly. There has not been a line yet since I started going here last month and I recently found out that they are open 7 days a week! No appointments needed which is the way it should be. I don't understand a lot of these barbers I have tried here in San Diego who all say appointment only, I have never heard of a barber shop that does that until I came here. Only thing I miss is the razer trim and shave I used to get at my old barber shop with the warm shaving cream and all, but other than that this is an exellent place to go. read more
